So apparently Bionice is real?

Gotta be honest, I'm probably just going to be in it for the new sets and pieces.

I really hope they go back to the old Mata-style days where you had actual unique characteristics to each figure and gear mechanisms and springs and all that cool stuff, instead of just being glorified action figures with different masks and color schemes.

Bionice? Is that really what they're calling the constraction line in 2015?

The reintroduction of gear mechanisms is the complete opposite of what I'd want, unless it's in vehicles.

I wanted to make a Duke Nukem Forever joke, but that actually came out. So did Chinese Democracy. :(

I'd personally say that a lot of sets these days are WAY more unique than the original Toa, which (besides Pohatu) were basically the same cloned design with different colors, different weapons, and one of three different arm shapes for each arm.

Nowadays the weapons in constraction sets tend to be built from multiple pieces rather than just being specialized single-piece weapons (though there are a few exceptions). The functions we DO get tend to be custom-built from basic Technic rather than specialized single-piece gearboxes. And the arms and legs of figures are built from multiple pieces including beams and armor that varies in length rather than just a single piece molded with a fake joint. Some sets even have custom skeletons.

Just compare CHI Mungus with CHI Cragger, or Furno Jet Machine with Breez Flea Machine. All four of these sets are $15 sets released this year. But not only are all four extremely different in construction, design, and function, but thanks to the building system they all offer LOADS of creative building potential.

I think a BIONICLE theme based on today's constraction design sensibilities would be a huge improvement over classic BIONICLE.
