What would you do if you were effectively immortal, eternal, pretty much had divine powers and the things that come with it?

That is to say, What would you do if you had divinity, or at the very least, an approximation of it?

Would you become a recluse, afraid that you would misuse the power? Would you attempt to dominate the world (and if you would, that's, uh, quite concerning)? Would you attempt to share it with others, somehow? Would you use your power to change what you thought needed to be changed? Would you try and reject it, believing you were not worthy or that the chance of misuse was too high? Would you ever become comfortable with it? And regardless if you did or didn't, how would you react to losing it - sadness, relief, madness?

Just to be clear - this isn't about religion, and I am not a religious person, so don't bring any real-world religions into this. Rather, it's a scenario about the concept of divinity and how you'd react to it and things related to it.

I'd conquer the world, because Me knows most current world leaders aren't doing such a great job.

Then I'd lead the human race through technological and economic booms, and eventually, interplanetary expansion.

:kaukau: I'd probably live a normal life while my loved ones were still alive, and just enjoy writing my books.  After they all passed away, I'd probably morph into an ESTJ and embark on a quest to conquer the world.  There's still be democratically elected officials and such, and a solid three-branch government with checks and balances, but I'd establish myself as the permanent justice in a one-person Supreme Court.  Humankind would be united underneath me, and there would be world peace at last.

My actions would be very different if I could share my immortality with someone else, though.

In both scenarios, no matter what, I'd be an author and I'd own a kangaroo.

I'd travel the world and punish/wipe out the people I don't like. I might also reward the people I like.

Though I wouldn't want to conquer the world or anything. I'd probably create a familiar or find a companion to keep myself company.

Nations will fall, cities will crumble, and the rivers will run with blood!

MANKIND FORSOOK ITS GIFT OF FREEWILL BY ACTING WITH GREED AND AVARICE RATHER THAN THE PURSUIT OF THE COMMON GOOD.

I WILL DESTROY THE WORLD AND REMAKE IT IN MY OWN IMAGE.

NONE SHALL SURVIVE!

I'll also make sure everyone understands that the Paleo Diet is a load of hooey and just isn't supported by anthropology or dietetics.

i'd give myself  giant robot and explore space with it.

Careful, things like that tend to result in your blood cells gaining sentience.

Where do you stop punishing and wiping out the people you don't like, though?

Keep a low profile while gently nudging family members and loved ones out of harm's way. (but make sure nobody notices - can you imagine the demands if anybody found out? Not necessarily from family members, but from all the "friends" that would suddenly appear...) maybe open up to someone at some point about it, but only if I trust them 1000%.

Otherwise I'd try not to rely on it too much. And losing it again would be a relief, removing the constant judging whether the situation needs help or not. :/

I'd probably keep it on the down-low, but use it as a force for good whenever I can. But I feel like no matter what anyone (including myself) says they would do or not do, having that kind of power would fundamentally change whoever had it. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and all that jazz.

Until the type of people I utterly detest are extinct. It could take a while as it is kinda based on personality and how bigoted they are. They'd either have to change or be eliminated.

In other words, it's probably a good thing I'm not a demigod. I'd turn into a monster. I'd probably try to resist the urge to take such drastic actions at first, of course. But human beings break my heart so often that it would only be a matter of time until I snapped.
