Why Blame The Chinese?

I was rather amused after I came out of my Geography class today. My teacher made a really good point, why is the Americans and the other Western countries blaming the Chinese for making toys with the paint containing lead?

I mean, think about it. The factories themselves, like the Barbies factories, are owned by Americans themselves! The Americans are the one who hired the factories so that they can pay the workers really low wages and keep the expense at a minimum, and as a result, requesting the factories to use the cheapest materials possible. Which is, in this case, lead in paint.

So quit blaming chinese people!

Oh, you wouldn't believe it if I told you what the majority of people in my school feel.

Well, not much use complaining, is there?

I remember a post where someone said LEGO was using cheaper plastics because the sets are made in China. Not only is this not true in the slightest, even if it were it would explain nothing. If (what a laugh) LEGO were to use cheaper plastics, why would it be in only one factory, and why would the location of the factory be to blame for what LEGO tells them to do?

It has always been easier to blame others.

There was actually a report today that one of the head honchos (can't remember which one) at Mattel apologized to the Chinese for this very thing and are taking responsibility for their actions.
