Brickfest 2009
OK, the fest is now over, and I'm slowly getting back to whatever passes for "normal" for me. I haven't plugged in my camera yet to get the pictures, so I don't have anything to show. But you can troll Brickshelf if you want to find them, or Flickr.
Some highlights:
- Seeing the BIONICLE tables filled with MOCs, while the Space table had one - ONE - moonbase and a few spaceships.
- Roa McToa building the Emerald Night train - and getting it mostly right!
- Wacky Racers: one of the Legoland designers (Bill V.) built a sphere which rolled down the ramp, shed some pieces, came to a rest, and cracked into two halves just like an egg. Bill kept claiming he meant to do that, but I dunno...
- Hanging with Black Six, Roa, Omi, and several other BZPers (sorry, I forgot your BZP names, guys!)
- Hearing those Omi stories. Ho boy, Omi had a wild ride!
- Hanging with my other peeps
- Showing Leah what a real AFOL event is like, although she unfortunately didn't get to spend as much time there as we would've liked
- Generally hanging out, having fun, looking at all the cool creations, and enjoying myself.
Overall it was a great show, but the timing for me wasn't the best... I'd spent Monday through Thursday in San Francisco at the Game Developer's Conference, and between GDC and BF, I was busy 16 hours every day, for seven straight days. I'm bushed. But it was all worth it.
