Sorting Prototypes

So tonight I finally sorted through all the pieces Kelly (Binkmeister) gave me at BrickFest this year. These are all for contest prizes and other giveaways we'll be doing in the future.

 

Sorting is not something I do much of these days, especially with so many pieces, so it was a pretty interesting time.

The pieces mainly fell into two categories: old 2001 masks and 2008 and 2009 color test molds. Lots of them are just variations of the same two colors on the same piece, but there are a few that seem pretty much one-of-a-kind. There were some Zamor prototypes in there too - according to Bink some of them change colors when you hold them, but I've yet to try it out.

 

When I pick out the pieces to give to Arpy for his contest prize I'll probably take some close up shots of the pieces, but you'll have to wait until then.

If I may be so audacious as to make some suggestions/requests, the black Piraka skulls, green/silver and purple Gelu helmets, dark blue Matatu, black Krika heads, and trans-clear Inika-face-shields-with-fins look especially cool. But really, I think I'll be quite content with whatever you choose. :)

Oh my gosh.

 

I just saw those black Antroz Wings/Gresh Swords.

 

I really REALLY want those Gresh Swords. I've been wanting black/silver ever since Gresh came out.

 

So, hey, uh, Black Six, don't you need to get rid of this stuff? I'll be glad to take those off your hands. =P

 

But, seriously, I'm assuming that this will all be used for contest and things, right?

I am. But not as much as I am over the metallic purple Gelu helmet... asdf I can't get over how much cool that has.

I think I would much prefer to do that sorting than have a handful of those pieces. All those amazing pieces in one place would just be so awesome. I envy you so much right now....

 

Out of random curiosity, planning on keeping some for yourself?

Clearly, there's someone working at those molding machines or whatever who isn't being paid enough. I could probably go for that silver '08 Avohkii - in fact, all those silver masks are very nice.

 

Now, I just need to do something about these darn oceans between here and America...

Well said, but technically people in the community would be the ones purchasing them. And I have a question.

 

By contests, you do mean ALL contests would, albeit possibly, have these parts as prizes? Like Library Contests and fan created games? Or just BBC contests?

Obviously you'll see them as prizes for future BBC Contests, but apart from that we are not saying for sure how we will be distributing them.

Maybe I'll make a trip to New Jersey just for one... because I can so afford that trip right now. :P
