Slight Excitement

1. Homeschoolers don't get to go to dances very often. Honest. They don't. Despite their previously non-homeschooled parents assuring them they aren't losing out on much, they still feel deprived and wish they could make a fool of themselves in pretty clothes (and, in girls' cases, exceedingly high heels that put their lives at risk) at least once in their lives.

So when a public-schooled friend invited me to go to her homecoming dance with a group, my general reaction could be summed up with:

"AAHH! EEEEEEE! OMGOSHOMGOSHOMGOSH! INSERT HYPERVENTILATION HERE!"

So right there I nearly died.

2. When one goes to a dance, they hope very much to dance with someone of the opposite gender, preferably someone who doesn't mind such conversation starters as, "So my red mage leveled up today" or "Did you hear about Mata Nui's brother stuffing him into a mask and banishing him from his own universe? Gosh, talk about a bad week!"

So somehow my potential dance partner ended up being Toa Lhikan Hordika.

And he's driving over here today.

My general reaction can be summed up with:

"EEEEEEEEEEE! OMGOSHOMGOSHWHATJUSTHAPPENEDITHINKIMDREAMINGTHESKYISFALLING!" *Falls over dead.*

P.S. BLUE TEXT!

P.P.S. Yes, this is one of those boring "life" entries... I apologize. ;.;

*is content being homeschooled and doesn't care about school dances*

If you ask me, our parents are correct and it's the public schooled kids who're missing out.

So to the beginning of your entry where we feel deprived. LIES!!!!!! LIES I SAY!!!!!!!!

:P

Seriously though....

I would have been like "Going to a dance and probably will dance with TLH. I hope I don't get RickRoll'd. Meh."

But you make it seem soooo much more exciting. =P

Haha, I never once went to a dance during the time I was homeschooled. Couldn't be bothered. My brother and sister went to dances and, from the tales they told me, yeah. I wasn't missing out on much.

BUT YAY THAT GUY SOUNDS AWESOME.

First off, my parents didn't tell me I was missing out. I may not have ever been to school dances being homeschooled, but there were other events (such as weddings) where they told me I WAS missing out when I'd sit out. I have no regrets right now, but they most certainly were right. Now I've got the dancin' bug. :happydance:

Here's a couple tips: Open a conversation with the "Did it hurt?" line. It will instantly break the ice (though may have an awkward situation as a side-effect if the partner has no sense of humor).

Second: Purposely step on their toes, apologize, and then after a moment blame it on them anyways. I think dudes dig that sort of thing. I dunno though, maybe it's just me.

"Dances?" "Not very often?" Heh. I never go anywhere. Not even for my birthday.

Which, I believe, was yesterday... I almost didn't notice it. XP

Man, I'm pathetic. XP

As a former public-school attendant I can say: I went to graduation prom. There was nothing else.

Have fun with TLH and remember that boys aren't as weird as they seem :P

I'm homeschooled, but I have an awesome social life, so at this point I'm like, "When on earth would I have TIMEEEEE to go to a dance?" xD

:kaukau:This just earned my approval and a spot on my favorites list. Actually, I was visiting this blog today with the intention of adding it anyways. Still, *love*.

I can remember my first dance. I've written about a couple on my blog. Nowhere near what your experience was like, save for the fact that I too wanted to dance with someone of the opposite gender, but I admire your perspective.

Wow. And people say I have good luck...

Never cared hugely for dancing myself, but I HAVE been to a dance despite being homeschooled (funny enough, most of the people there were homeschoolers, even though that wasn't the intent, but besides...)

Anyway... I just forgot what I was going to say. But seriously, you have amazing luck.
