Someone Explain Something To Me

How in the world do two of the greatest Matoran defenders justify omnicide in the face of other viable options?

Something that really concerns though...

"Brutaka, maybe Helryx is right," said Axonn. "Maybe this is the only sure way of stopping Teridax. Maybe it's what Mata Nui would want us to do."

If this is what Mata-Nui truly wanted, then all of the defenders of Mata-Nui automatically lose whatever semblance of moral high ground they have in the conflict against Terridax and Makuta is now the true hero of the Bionicle storyline.

Because omnicide on a (relatively) small scale is better than Teridax going HULK SMAASH on the rest of the world, yeah?

Besides, even Tahu admits that there is no real plan.

"LET'S CAUSE SOME HAVOC AND HOPE THAT SOMETHING HAPPENS" was the general gist of the resistance.

And face it, they don't know that Brutaka has the whole assimilated knowledge-thing going on for him... and the cryptic hints don't help.

And if TK had a way, he probably would have done it already.

Relatively? I hardly doubt that millions of beings dying just to stop one person is hardly even thinkable. To do so without hearing out your ally who claims to have an alternate stradegy is just plain out stupid. They've justified omnicide in a few seconds and without showing any sort of horror or remorse at such an action nor without even listening to an alternate option. It's also worth noting that not only Herlyx but Axxon who doesn't even listen to Brutaka on the matter. Axxon. You know? The guy who never doubted the innate goodness of Brutaka is now siding against him with a person who's going to kill everyone in the whole universe. It also doesn't help that Axxon, who previously didn't give up protecting the Matoran during their darkest hour on Voya-Nui, has decided to kill them all without so much as blinking an eyelash.

No, this is absolute stupidity of the highest level with no justification whatsoever.

Is this in the actual universe or a parallel one?

This tomfoolery is going on in the actual universe.

The web serials were supposed to be designed for us. And if it matters...I totally agree with you. Greg made a big mistake there, and it was one of the first things that bothered me. I mean, I could see Helyrx doing it before Brutaka came, but when he offered an alternative? She's the leader of an undercover organization, for goodness sake. You'd think that after a kajillion years she might learn to be flexible.

I'm of the opinion that it was a badly-thought-over insert to "create suspense".
