Awww...you can always imagine she's beside you. That's what I do when someone I care about is not there.

That's the downside to having only one or two good friends - yes, you can talk to them about anything, etc. - but there's only one or two of them. So, no one to fall back on in situations like these.

...though, I only have one or two good friends, so I know how it feels. And, personally, I think a few close friends are better than a bunch of so-so ones; for reasons I could rant about all day.

Agreed. Although I have expanded and changed the circle of my friends a little, because if I find a new person I get along with fine, I offer that person a place in my circle of friends. However, it is still far from being a too large one.

I have a couple best friends and a handful of other people I call friend, but I'm scarce able to contact them and don't generally confide in them as I should. =\
