Why Contest #59 Sucks
...
Couldn't find any reasons at all to hate it. I haven't followed BZP's BBC contests as thoroughly as I should, but I did scan the contest history topic and from what I have seen, many of the contest themes were interesting, in a good way. Some of the more recent contests themes made you really think about what to create; really forced you to show originality, and those are the most awesome ones. I expect this contest to do the same.
Anyways, I read in a few blogs and posts that some members do not like the fact that to enter Contest #59, you must be willing to ship your MOC to BrickFair. Yeah, there might be a money problem, and then the international problem, but chin up guys; this contest isn't stopping you from entering future contests. This contest really shouldn't stop you from creating MOCs and posting images in the BBC Forum. Don't get discouraged; BrickFair only happens once a year, so BZP contests are not going to always have that BrickFair rule there.
If you don't like the contest theme this time, then don't enter; simple as that. Instead, try to support the contest or encourage those who are interested in the contest to go ahead and build something and enter it in. Smeagol4, Than, Taka-Tahu-Nuva, Arpy, and Darth Vader are investing a lot of time and effort to bring fun and creativity to members through these contests. Please learn to appreciate their hard work, because their commitment to BBC contests is only voluntary. They don't have to do this for you.
Mmm, I might not be the right person to say this as I am not staff member or MOCer, but don't get too caught up in this. It's the internet, after all.
I really can't wait to see what you guys make for this contest. That said, let there be rock.
