A3-scanner Means Bigger Art! ^^

Taka Nuvia

Yayz, finally!

Soo, my mum convinced me to draw on bigger paper, too. The only problem: my scanner was not big enough.

But now I got a bigger one, and it's working. So, here's some art! =D

"The borg and the butterfly" <--- gotta re-upload it because I added the wrong signature, sry ><

Finally I got to experiment with watercolour pencils.

I know that the borg is very OOC, but it's cute. ^^

Behold the magical powers of the Rainbow snail!

It's quite colourful.

Biig Sketchdump

I originally wanted to try out various expressions, maybe I went a tad bit too far with some of them.

Yeah, so... comments, anyone?

Rainbow Snail! It's a snail..and a rainbow in one!

New paper, and a new scanner? You're quite lucky, Taka.

I love the Pizza one, it's very cute.

The Borg and Butterfly was also quite cute.

SNAIL. I love the snail. The girl looks so enchanted by it.

The "Biig Sketchdump" is quite big. :P I love all the faces and the looks of everyone.

What an adorably large piece of pizza!

Strikes me, though, that however cute and irrestistable this is on paper - or on a computer screen - it would be traumatically odd in real life. :P

The others are also spectacular. The borg is watercolours, right?

...and signed with, unless I am mistaken, a signature that does not say 'Taka Nuvia'. ;)

The snail is awesome as well (as is the girl watching it).

A question, though; do you consider yourself a professional artist? Because with all these techniques I see, many of which I think wouldn´t even be able copy, let alone using it in my own works, it seems somebody must have taught you all of this (somebody else than yourself, of course). And although I know several talented and brilliant artists in real life, I rarely bump into someone at this level.

Thanks! :D Though you're right, IRL this would really be odd.

Watercolour pencils. They're like coloured pencils, but you then can use water to... um, it's like overpainting, but you only use water... *fails at describing*

I will re-upload it with the signature taken out... thanks for reminding me, I totally forgot about that ><

No, I don't really consider myself as a professional artist. Not yet. But there's still so much to learn...

And no, nobody taught me. ^^ I don't even know any artists IRL (sadly).

I guess I just like experimenting with new things, how you can use them and what effects you can achieve using them ^^

I think I get it - it´s like pencils, but with the effect of watercolours? If so, I really should try to get some of those. :)

You once stated in your blog (perhaps several times? I don´t remember) that you knew someone who you thought was a better artist than you. And anyone with a desire to draw at all will be considered an artist by me. So I guess that´s all a matter of definitions. ^_^

Jealous ^^

So was I, when first reading the entry. Then I was given an A3 sketchbook as a late birthday present. Now I´m more jealous than ever about the scanner.
