    It's Over

Well, yeah. The party was shut down tonight: BZPower's fifth anniverary officially came to a close. As the staff sweep up the confetti and mop up the forum, the members just stare in amazement asking themselves where those blasted rank images went off to. Short answer? Janus ate them. I hope everyone enjoyed their premier perks while they lasted. But now, I laugh at each of you who shoved my blog to the back pages, and can now no longer access your blog. -Kex
  2. Blog ripper! Can I at least have the shreddded pieces back?
  3. You heard right. A teaser for BBC contest #38 has been posted in the BBC Forum by our very own BR. Be sure to check it out, and come back see what all the commotion is about on August first. This will be the sixth contest I've assisted in, and I have to say that I'm really looking forward to this one. You're all in for a big surprise, and an awesome contest. -Kex

    In The Hands Of Gold

As you would know if you read my recent Vezon & Fenrakk Review, I managed to track down a few new 2006 sets: Vezon & Fenrakk, Brutaka, and Toa Inika Matoro. I have proudly displayed them for several days now. And I must say -- they were worth that $65 I spent. (or blew?) Just yesterday, though, I had an urge. An urge to MOC. So I stripped down Brutaka of his gold pieces, leaving his unornamented body to rot on my floor. I then gathered up my other KK pieces of the same gold shade. Originally, I wanted to use a traditional color scheme: gold and white. I built a torso, and limbs of both the arm and leg variety to go with it. I really just wasn't completely satisfied with the results. I wanted something better. So I started sifting through my old Brickshelf for any kind of inspiration, and saw Lyrxic. I loved some of the basic design elements I used on there. I decided to make another version of it. Only, this time, I'd lose the light blue and replace it with the new gold. I'm going for an armored style mecha look, which should be fun, seeing as the pieces I have in gold are perfect for creating an armored look. I'm currently working out issues with the torso, and trying ever so hard to come up with a working head design. I'll think of something, eventually. After all, I am in the hands of gold. -Kex

    The Dynamic Duo

Ah, yes, the Revivalfest. Schizo joined me right at the same time. Next time, we should write out facy invitations. Get the whole Empire together, yanno?

    Beyond The Sun

Beyond The Sun - Shinedown Speak to me So I can understand your tongue You seem rather fragile It's been said It's cold beyond the sun Have you ever been there? Communicating thoughts of ways To never have to speak again Let me be the fire in your hand Bring what's yours, I'll take what's mine And meet you on the other side We'll leave a sign so anyone can find us A better place, a sweeter time We won't need any wings to fly A place beyond the sun Look for me The way you would if you were blind Don't be so resistant I've been known To travel much too fast Is that you in the distance? Communicating thoughts of ways To never have to speak again Let me be the fire in your hand Bring what's yours, I'll take what's mine And meet you on the other side We'll leave a sign so anyone can find us A better place, a sweeter time We won't need any wings to fly A place beyond the sun Communicating thoughts of ways To never have to speak again Let me be the fire in your hand Bring what's yours, I'll take what's mine And meet you on the other side We'll leave a sign so anyone can find us A better place, a sweeter time We won't need any wings to fly A place beyond the sun The song is about finding your true companion and falling in love. The strongest bond, marriage, is asked, and is followed by saying that happiness will only be achieved when together. A place beyond the sun is the perfect world. You can listen to the song over here. -Kex

    Blog Updations

Decided to renovate this thing. At first, there were just going to be some minor additions. But then I decided that I wanted to add some spice, personality, you know? Here's what I came up with.Latest Creation - My latest MOC will be showcased for all to see.Music - In this area I will share images of some of my favorite bands. I will elaborate on the band, images, song lyrics, or general musical information in future blog entries.Useful Links - Very basic and general information that every member should read and fully understand. The BBC Empire - The important BBC topics are shared here, along with any new information regarding the BBC Forum. As well, every week I will personally select a MOC to place in this section as "MOC of the week". Be sure to check this section for updates!-Kex

    Report Overload

Oh, the sheer joy that comes from reading hundreds of reports at a time!
  11. That's quite a draft. It's too bad I don't have Tufi-vision, or I might be able to make it out. But I need my Tiara!

    A Note On Dates

Ew, ST Tufi. Not only were you pranked, you were hit with it. Who knows what would happen if you were Empress at the time...

I Swear I'm Not The Devil...

Or how about we don't, since .bmp images are not permitted anywhere on BZPower.
  14. But .png is. As you know, we have this thing called the BBC Forum, which is run by BBC Empire. In this forum, members share their MOCs. Most of the time, a digital photograph of the MOC is provided. Now -- in order to get this photograph onto BZPower, you're going to have to save it to your computer in order to upload it. But what file extension do you use? Most members choose to use the .jpg format. After all, it's the most commonly used file extension on the internet. However, there are some who choose to venture outside the world of .jpg. That jolly, merry place just wasn't their thing. So they go and see the Devil -- .png. Using .png as opposed to .jpg in photographic images does absolutely nothing but increase the filesize -- often five to ten times the size of the .jpg. To make it even worse, there is minimal gain in quality. Back to the BBC Forum. When you use .png, less people view your MOCs. When you enter a BBC contest, you lose votes. Just because of the file extension and long load time of your entry picture. Not everyone has high-speed internet. I for one still use dial-up. Pity me. In fact, the BBC contest staff have discussed banning .png images from the contests. Use .jpg. Let the Devil be a Devil outside of the BBC Forum. -Kex

Those were merely WIP pictures -- you can view the final product over here.

    Ninjopalooza

I've been working on an entry ever since I heard the theme on the first of the month. My first thought was to build a simple Toa-type MOC -- teal, black, and silver, with a black hau olda. Then what I had built came out monkey god-awful, so I demolished it. My next idea was to go for a mech-ish look, kind of like my Gauntlet MOC. While starting that, I got some good designs for more of a Toa-type MOC again, so I went back to that. Made some legs and all that good stuff. Now I'm working on finishing it up, and then I'll show a few people. Maybe work on it some more, and then enter it. It surely has more Ninjousity than some of the other stuff I built, and I'm hoping it comes out better than I'm expecting. -Kex

    Crowds And Plumbing

Firstly, I apologize for not keeping up with this thing. I'm no doctor, but I do play one on the internet, and I can tell you that I have had an extreme case of laziness lately. Well, anyway, not much happened today. In case you didn't know, my father's house is currently being renovated. The house is being doubled in size. We finally got all the permits together mid-June (took some 7 months), and we started right away. Thankfully, our neighbor is a contractor himself, and he's helping out a lot with the project, doing some labor, and providing my dad with some materials that are saving him tons of money. The plumbing was put down today. The guy had to dig around with the Bobcat first, which was the most time consuming part, and was what he considered "the hard part". Then the PVC was laid down, and all that good plumbing stuff. At least now I know where my waste products will be going. When that was finished, I was planning on going to the movies with my dad and stepmom. We were going to see Click (Adam Sandler and whatnot). We went to Muvico, and upon entering the line to buy tickets, saw that just about everything was sold out for the next several hours. We ended up stopping at Blockbuster on the way home, where we still managed to come in contact with a rather large crowd. You have to admit, a fifteen minute checkout line is a bit ridiculous. We got the movie Jarhead. It was based on a former Marine's book. It was okay -- nothing to write home about, though. -Kex
  18. We need a generic "stop spamming" PM.

    Normalcy

No? ... Then who was that creepiness? Ask Omi.

    Normalcy

That would've been Kex, as edited by one Omicron V. Fannypack. O_O No. That it was not.

    Normalcy

Stop making excuses, Mr. Fauxer. :wakeup2: ....No, Omi, no. You don't want PMs. They're contagious; one spam PM leads to ten the next day.

    Normalcy

After nearly two entire months as Princess Peach, over 1,000 posts in hot pink with a wub smilie, and hundreds of PMs about it, I am finally back. To be honest, I only have a faint memory on how this whole ordeal even began. The prankee making a typo on the abbreviation “gj” inspired the whole prank idea. That formed my member title, and the avatar, banner, and custom rank image were also formed. A little while before me, one of my fellow FAs was also pranked -- Than. For a week or so, there was a chaotic topic on our pranks, which eventually was spammed up to a point where closure was necessary. Shortly after that, our Matoran of Faux Topic Closing and the Village People was changed back to the Angry Matoran (I’m sorry to report that the Faux Closings do still spring up at times, you have to watch out). However, the Princess still stood tall and proud, just as pink and pretty as ever. In between all this, another FA was pranked -- Redeemer. Unfortunately, he disregarded my warnings, and what I had left of his hair was thrown into the incinerator. Oh, and if you ever want an easy win at online golf, you know who to ask. Shortly after that, Omi was united with his favorite fanny packs. At least somebody is enjoying his prank. Oh, and speaking of Omi, it was all his fault that I had that disturbing banner. My apologies go out to anybody who received any injuries due to this image. I’m sure you might also be wondering about this “caress the server” thing, as it did also appear on the banner, but it’s an inside joke kinda thing that only Tufi and I will fully understand. Again, highly disturbing. Try and push the mental images out of your mind. For the last several weeks, the PMs I had been receiving about the prank also started changing. It went from people asking about the prank, to people asking if I really was PP, asking my gender, asking if I was ever going to be changed back, asking if Kex had died... I mean, all kinds of things. And now, alas, Kex is back. To a degree, you could say I “earned” it, but that’s nothing for you to worry about. Just be glad there isn’t a pink fool in the presence of your beloved BZPower. And remember, normalcy is overrated. -Kex
