  1. OOC: something something zombies thriller theme and whatnot. we alive again IC: Echelon had left, and while I couldn't argue against the.... improvement that the lack of his presence offered, it did make the remainder of this excursion a complete waste of time. I wasn't here to sit through the tedious chest puffing and posturing of his lackeys; as much as Hakann might have fed off of that. Of course, I had gotten part of what I came for, and that was plenty for me. We're done here. It was a rather odd experience, tapping into the twisted maze of logic that Hakann called a mind. The Rahkshi's mind reading had been far more impersonal, an observer just relaying information. This... this power sank its fangs into something far more primal and raw. It was strangely invigorating, a pity it would only last so long. The communication was far less clear than what I had hoped, but Hakann got the tone if not the actual words. Given the general picture that I got of the psychotic maniac's state of mind, he wasn't going to be arguing. Another mental nudge, and my Rahkshi snapped into the single minded focus of a pack of predators, their own march towards the doors of the chamber starting only moments before my own. Hakann naturally waited until enough distance had passed between us for a convenient backstab, as a precaution.
  2. IC: Jenth As clouded as her head was right now, what with the steel spike of pain being driven through her skull, it didn't take a mystic to recognize what was going down to her right. Given the fact that the air between the human and Large Lizard Man (Vann-something or another) suddenly solidified to the point where one could have sliced through it with a vibroblade, Jenth did the sensible thing. And backed the #### away. She slipped out of the seat somewhat awkwardly, clutching Sue's miracle working drink as a lifeline. Best case scenario this was how the human greeted new people on her homeworld, worst case... Well Sue might end up popping some limbs out of place and Imps would come crawling out of their garrison at the sound of blasterfire. Either way, Jenth took up a strategic position at the nearest table. And she liked the Tach cause she never had to bring a blaster, great. IC: Rav "My condolences." Now that was helpful. Hopefully it meant they'd know their way around, if they didn't, understandably, ditch this planet as soon as possible back when. "Now, I've seen enough holovids to know that staying out in the junkyard overnight always leads to crazy mutant rancors, so I'd like to get moving."
  3. IC: Challenge accepted. Shipping mode: A C T I V A T E. "...We'll seee."
  4. IC: so i mean a claymore, right?
  5. IC: Marcus "...How many missiles do you think we could strap onto a Gunner?"
  6. IC: Said wingwoman snorted into the complimentary glass of water she was was working on in appreciation. Ah yes, wordplay. "Ain't no one got #### on me." Meanwhile, her other half's phone once again began to silently explode in a flurry of digital information.
  7. and here we see quite a rare beast in its natural habitat no flash photography you may scare it off (hype tho)
  8. IC: "Mhm," she supported emphatically, giving a small nod. Jesika glanced up from where she had been rhythmically tapping the little camera button on her phone repeatedly while Brook provided a sufficient distraction. She had, of course, taken the precaution long ago of muting the thing. She gave a lazy bink, grin slightly obscured by the hand supporting her head.
  9. IC: Marcus "Guess that means we just have to be really thorough then."
  10. IC: "The Imps really aren't into the new colors, we even made it more interesting to look at and everything," Rav sighed with more than a fair bit of sarcastic disappointment. Good, they two of them weren't any sort of friends of the Empire. It made things a lot less tense than working with those that had to keep appearances up with the local Imperials, even if Endor had helped them much more than they thought in that regard. He had planned on dumping the not-so-anonymous flight suit before he reached the city; close enough to keep his civvies clear of the muck and not look like he'd been fumbling through the swamp for the better part of the day. Though seeing as his two new acquaintances hadn't taken the same precaution... "What about you two? Come to take advantage of all that Taris has to offer?" IC: Jenth [The Stray Tach] With an indignant sound, a slight form pushed it's way through the throngs of "off work early" and "nothing better to do" mass of both humanoid (and some non-humanoid) that had collected as per usual in The Stray Tach. Well, Jenth didn't so much push as be pushed and eventual resort to simply slipping through spaces in between to make her way to the bar proper. She slid into an empty seat next to a tallish human woman, who honestly looked like she would be better suited cleaning her teeth with a vibroblade in a bar a few levels down. Which, Jenth absently considered, was probably why the seat was empty. Huh. "Hi Sue," the mechanic chirped, giving a small wave up towards said Wookiee, who was easily twice her size and then some."I need something to kill this headache and solve my problems." "...Though I'll settle for just the headache and able to keep me up for the next eight hours."
  11. Barring any objections, Vanndred approved.
  12. IC: Marcus She flinched, and probably would'a grabbed onto something to hold herself up... if Gwen hadn't already... taken that precaution. "That bad huh?" She scrunched her lips together and flared her nose in emphatic disapproval. "Ouch, that bites." "How did they catch us with our pants down?" She wasn't really asking Gwen specifically, more of a brief moment of clarity surfacing from the painkiller-induced haze, which likely was the only thing keeping her from outright fuming. "We got a few of them, right? I mean I messed up two of the big ones pretty good."
  13. IC: "I don't know, kinda like the attention that it brings," he said with a shrug, addressed the twi'lek. The fact that the man carried a blade was strange enough, though the lack of any visible power supply on it was even moreso. "Sightseeing, got some shore leave from the XO and decided to make the most out of it," Rav deadpanned in response to the grin that the human was expressing. The fact that they hadn't taken pot shots at him immediately was a good sign, probably. "Gave me some discretionary credits to waste on overpriced meals. If you two could get me inside the city, some could find their way to you for your trouble."
  14. IC: Marcus "Mmm." "Say, you think they'd let me drag the Annorax back to base? Not that I have an irrational sentimental attachment to it, or anything." "...Maybe it's still useable?" Two inky eyes gazed imploringly at the mechanic.
  15. i, i see you fade / i, i see you fade away

  16. IC: Onuzek "Onuzek... uh, Alfon what?" He lumbered up from his statuesque position off to the side, frowning ever so slightly.
  17. IC: Marcus "They're so friggin cute."
  18. IC: Marcus "Sheeee's fiiine." Mhmm.
  19. IC: With a grunt of pain, Rav braced his shoulder as he slid down the rusted armor plating of some blown-out cruiser who's drive assembly was the only thing sticking out of the polluted swamp. He reached the ground and ran off his excess speed before resuming the slower pace he'd taken to. The blast from the Imperial warship had thrown him against the cockpit harness, and wrenched his shoulder from its socket. A few agonizing seconds was all it had taken to set it back into place, and a shot of an anesthetic from the bomber 's field kit numbed the pain; he just wasn't planning on shooting straight for a few days. He'd been hoping to stay on Taris for as little time as possible, but finding transport was going to stretch out his stay here all the longer. The planet was still technically Imperial, and even if the local garrison didn't have enough troopers to set up checkpoints every five meters, he still had a mark on his head. Voices up ahead caught his attention, and the pilot held his blaster up, immediately starting to move towards an outcropping of twisted metal. The graveyard was bound to be roamed by scavengers, but not running into any was apparently too much to ask for. They were coming this way, their boots making dull thuds against the debris-filled ground. Rav peered around his cover to get a bead on the vagrants...? There were two of them, a human and twi'lek, and they were honestly too well dressed to be scavengers. Which was to say, not looking like they rolled around in the muck for a living. Mercenaries? Maybe, but unlikely. They were armed, the rifle slung across the human's back was certainly testament to that. Travelers, then. Which meant they had a ship, or a means to get one. So he took a chance, and holstered his blaster before stepping out into the open, prefacing with a simple, "Looking to get into the city, think you two could help?"
  20. IC: Leli She did as instructed, for once, and felt her heart catch in her throat as the machine clunked to life at the press of the button, kinda. So maybe it wasn't an instantaneous startup, but it sure was exhilarating. "Gotta say, still feeling like I might step on someone with this thing."
  21. i am what the weak can't obtain / i am what survives if its slain / i am rest in piece if you aim

  22. IC: "Might be... neat."
  23. IC: Ekko "Hey Cap'n, think you could cook dead ancient ruin guardian?" IC: Kythera With a mild sense of curiosity, and half-expecting one of the being he'd pushed aside to turn out to be some scarred, muscle-bound skakdi, she listened to Aparangi's conversation. Though her attention was mostly fixed on the dark-armored Toa sitting across from her. Well, not so dark-armored; a better look had revealed Rewera had a slight bluish tint, and Aparangi red, if it really meant anything. "Oh I'm sure we can fix that," Kythera assured, giving an impish grin, icy eyes gleaming for a moment. More so from her own... thoughts, than anything that Rewera had actually said. The vortixx laced her fingers together, elbows pressed against the table and head resting on her hands. "I think I might go first, I've got the sneaking suspicion that your story is a fair bit more interesting than mine."
