  1. Ah, gotcha. Thanks! c:
  2. Name: Mina Race: Av-Matoran Gender: Female Mask: Powerless Great Huna Abilities/Skills: She can alter the color of her armor at will, and has taken to using this power to camouflage herself while out in the Wastes. To accompany this, she's becoming quite adept at moving both swiftly and silently through the rough terrain of the desert. Weapons/Equipment: A short staff with a thick blade lashed to the end of it. Carries a threadbare satchel and a small canteen. Appearance: Mina is slim, and short for an Av-Matoran (but of average height to everyone else). The majority of her body is snow-white, while the pauldrons and gauntlets are, surprisingly, the only pieces of golden armor she possesses. She always wears a grey, patchwork cloak, and keeps her arms and legs wrapped in strips of cloth to keep out the dust and sand. Her eyes and heartlight are yellow-gold. Personality: Kind, quiet, motherly, inquisitive. She is slow to anger unless the right buttons are pushed. Mina would never willingly harm another being, and strongly believes that all life is precious. She can be mischievous at times -- but never goes overboard -- and loves making people smile. Life in Canus has made her a bit melancholy, though she tries to maintain a positive attitude around her fellows. Whether or not she can keep it up is another matter. Weaknesses: Basic self-defense is the closest thing she has to any sort of combat skills, which is not particularly useful in a true fight. Her compassion could also be exploited.
  3. IC Wolfe - Astral: The veteran had considered following after Stormer and the rest of the Heroes, but that meant leaving the Astral with two, maybe three Heroes (at least to his knowledge) who weren't in the medbay for one reason or another. "Mission Control, I'm staying with the ship," he said over the comms, to which Helen gave a passive affirmation. With that, Wolfe climbed to the top of the ship and sought out a decent vantage point, and there he shifted his quiver from his back to his hip and pulled out his bow, ready for any threat that might set its sights on the Astral. As he stood there, though, he couldn't shake the feeling that, somewhere, something dreadful was happening... IC Flint - Collapsing Portal: Flint grit his dental plates as the turbulence around LOIS worsened. It's just a rough spot, he told himself, trying not to think of the other possibility. The ship's instruments were practically screaming at him. Outside, the portal was warping and distorting as the energies that made up its entire structure were being drawn back to whatever the point of origin was. Flint poured on the acceleration until the wings and thrusters were creaking in protest. He closed his optics and waited a few tense seconds before everything fell utterly still and silent. Regardless, he continued to wait -- for how long, he didn't know. ... Death sucks, he thought grumpily. Then, slowly, he opened his optics and found himself and the ship sitting at the very edge of Mechna's atmosphere. Any evidence that there had been a portal was non-existent. "Huh."
  4. OOC: Apologies for disappearing again -- on top of having a very busy week (jury duty, ugh) I've been trying to sleep off this nasty pain in my jaw since Sunday. @__@ OOC: Except Hero Factory doesn't seem to care about other planet's laws. For example - not turning Rotor over to his home planet for execution. In Kaiba's case, though, most of the charges against him probably came from Hero Factory itself. So, uh, I guess he can go complain to Makuro or something? OOC: I doubt HF would have lasted as long as it has by disregarding the laws of other worlds. They probably didn't send Rotor back because a) they were still taking care of paperwork/formalities involved in getting him deported, or b) HF and Rotor's people do not have any sort of criminal deportation agreements. I imagine most planets in this universe do have laws/acts/statutes/etc. that call for mandatory deportation of criminals for certain crimes... but I don't think the story team was gonna worry about telling that to 10-year-olds. ;P IC Jet - Medbay, Astral: "Oh, good," he sighed with relief. IC Flint - Portal: Ignoring the dashboard instruments flaring in warning, Flint began to tentatively navigate the ship into the massive portal. He gave it a minute to see how the vessel faired, and, satisfied that she would hold, increased his speed and headed for Mechna.
  5. IC Wolfe - Quark Qruiser: He rolled his eyes and stepped off the ship, raising his voice so as to be heard over the excited chatter. "Alright, folks, please step back from the ship; we're here on business and nothing more." His tone was friendly yet firm, and many of the civilians exchanged glances before either turning to leave or simply moving out of the way. "That's it, thank you," Wolfe continued as he gently started shooing people away.
  6. IC Wolfe - Quark Qruiser: He turned and detached the charging cable as Quark addressed them, then made his way towards the door and waited until Quark was finished speaking. "Does Mission Control have any idea how we're supposed to close that thing?" he asked. "Or is this a 'we'll find out when we get there' kind of deal?" Hopefully it was the former. IC Jet - Medbay, Astral: Glancing down briefly, and trying not to sound worried, Jet asked the medbots, "It's not too bad, is it?" IC Flint - Nearing the Portal: Flint wasn't too far behind, but he certainly wished he had taken off sooner. Communications with the Astral were all but non-existent, and the only indication that the massive ship had even been here was the trace reading on LOIS's navicomp. Most other instruments were starting to act strangely the closer he came to the colossal portal that hung ominously before him. OOC: How much trouble would a ship the size of Slave I have in traversing the portal?
  7. To Nato: ♫ Aaaaaaaah very merry Unbirthday to you!

  8. IC Jet - Medbay, Astral: He continued to stare up at the ceiling thoughtfully as he listened to Render. The older Hero sounded like the kind of guy Jet would enjoy having as a teammate. He wondered, briefly, which team Mission Control would assign him to when the time came, and whether or not it would be a good fit. Perhaps it was silly, but he worried about that kind of thing every now and then.
  9. OOC: IC Jet - Astral: The rookie grimaced as the medbots made their repairs. He couldn't bring himself to watch them work, so he simply stared up at the ceiling and tried to distract himself by concentrating on the various conversations going on round him. Not that he was eavesdropping -- it was difficult to not listen when everyone was conversing at a moderate volume all in the same room. IC Flint - Tower Ruins: He sighed as the Astral took off, but couldn't blame its occupants for being impatient. There were other ships nearby that hadn't yet taken off, though Flint noted that he was too far away to catch any of them. Well, except one. LOIS still sat where he had left it, undamaged, save the singe mark of a stray laser blast on the left wing (Wolfe wasn't going to be happy about that). Flint mulled it over and decided he'd better take the ship before any villains or punk kids could snatch it. He could dock it with the Astral once the two vessels arrived at Mechna. "Hey, Vex!" he called across the battlefield. "Need a ride?" IC Wolfe - Quark Qruiser: Wolfe smiled slightly as he listened to the rookies talk, but said smile soon faded. Dang it, I left LOIS behind...
  10. IC Wolfe - Rekt: He quickly returned the arrow to his quiver and moved back towards the charger, avoiding eye-contact and whistling oh so innocently. Making Gyro laugh had brightened his day considerably.
  11. IC Wolfe - Pushing His Luck: Wolfe watched as Quark put some object into the cupboard. From the design he assumed some form of explosive, but since Dot seemed relatively unconcerned about it, he wasn't worried. In fact, he decided that this was the perfect time to cheer the kids up and simultaneously antagonize Quark. He pulled an ordinary arrow from his quiver and, after scooting closer to the cabinet, proceeded to lightly jab said storage unit, as if to say, 'you didn't say the arrow couldn't touch it.' IC Flint | Helen - Middle of the Ruins | Astral: Flint opened his eyes with a groan. He could hear ship engines idling nearby, but not much else, he realized with a jolt. What happened to the gunfire and explosions? Slowly he eased himself into a sitting position and stayed there, at least until his lightheadedness passed. He glanced around, trying to figure out where everyone was. "Mission Control, what's going on? Where's that blasted villain?" he demanded. "Flint, dear, you've been unconscious for the last half hour," came Helen's rather blasé response. "Get aboard the Astral before we leave without you. We'll explain everything later." "..." An extremely disgruntled and confused Flint began slowly making his way back to the Astral.
  12. IC Jet - Med Bay, Astral: Being set down was just as painful as being picked up, if not more so. Jet tried his best not to fuss, though. He managed a small wave with his good hand as Bulk left, then allowed himself to fall back onto the bed in wounded little heap. Now that the fear of being eaten was subsiding, the pain from his injuries was beginning to kick in fully. IC Wolfe - Quark Qruiser: Now that he had a moment to himself, Wolfe began replaying the day's events in his mind, trying to make sense of it all. His bout of impudence was quickly fading as feelings of loss set in once again, and he realized it was because he was staring out the window at the sombre wreck that was once the Assembly Tower. So many lives lost. There wouldn't be any way to tell how many of his friends were among them until after the site had been thoroughly searched. Wolfe decided not to think about it, at least not while the remaining Heroes had a mission to complete. He slid down the far wall into a sitting position, the charger plugged into his core, and leaned his head back, humming a quiet tune in an effort to distract himself.
  13. IC Wolfe - Rebel to the Core:
  14. IC Wolfe - Escape: Finally glancing towards the back of the ship, Wolfe's eyes fell on a most glorious sight: a charging station. He craned his neck again to see where Quark was, then slowly, quietly, eased himself out of the chair of shame and sauntered over to the charger. As he passed Ferro, Wolfe made a quick 'shush' motion with his finger up to his mouth, then a slashing motion across his throat, pointed at Quark, then slipped away to the back of the ship without a sound.
  15. IC Jet - Tower Basement: "Thanks, Bulk," he said with a wince as he was picked up.
  16. IC Wolfe - Well Now They Knooooow: The vet could hear the younger Hero climb aboard and find a seat somewhere in the back, but he couldn't be bothered to lift his head from the control panel to see who it was. This was probably for the best. IC Helen - Mission Control Deck, Astral: "Coordinates received; thank you, Jade," she replied. "For the time being, please return to the crash site and pick up any Heroes who need a ride. I'll consult Zib on whether or not we should pursue." She turned to her fellow Mission Manager. "Should we send anyone after Traferous?" she asked, though she doubted he would want to get anyone tangled up with their shapeshifting friend again.
  17. IC Wolfe - Don't Let Them Knooooow: The vet plugged his audio receptors with the palms of his hands, but he may as well have been using paper for all the good it did. When Quark was finished, he suddenly realized that they were about to have company... and there he sat with, essentially, a large 'KICK ME' sign on his back. Slowly, exhaustedly, he slumped over the control panel with a neutral expression. Maybe the others would see him there and think he had sat there unknowingly. Maybe.
  18. IC Wolfe - SHAME CHAIR: He craned his neck to watch as Quark worked, and realized three letters in what she was up to. Needless to say, he didn't say another peep while the sound of ripping tape persisted. He did indeed feel like scrap, so 10 points to Gryffinquark. When she was done, he looked over again with an expression of vague distress as he allowed her words to sink in. She was right, and he knew it. But dadgummit if Wolfe didn't still believe he was at least partially right (not that he would ever voice it). They would never find out, though. "Should... we... find the kids, then...?" he suggested in an effort to change the subject.
  19. IC Wolfe - Quark Qruiser: Unfortunately for Wolfe, he knew all too well that this was anything but calm behavior. Quark could certainly be quieter than any of her teammates, but rarely did good moods and long bouts of silence coincide. He shut down the weapon systems and sat back in his chair, not even daring to glance at Quark. He decided to give her a minute. ... ... "Please say something."
  20. OOC: Yeah, when T. Pecs impersonated Zib. XD Also, did Flint's poor unconscious self ever make it to the Astral? I forget who took him.
  21. OOC: It doesn't quite make sense to me why the Recall would mention Shade by name to the criminal, especially since the villain in question was out on a revenge quest. OOC: Heroes' names aren't exactly secret. <:I
  22. IC Helen - Astral: "There was an incident, yes," she replied, thinking it best that Peppy simply see the damage for herself. "You are clear to land, now, but please be cautious as you come in; there are still hostiles in the area. Make your way to the Astral for a recharge, and we'll brief you on the situation." She sent an image of the Astral to the HUD of Peppy's dropship.
