1. While effort is a factor, it's also time. In your post they just... waltz right through, as if Kuro knows exactly what to do without thinking about it beforehand. There's physical danger, yes, obviously - but this gem quest's defense is a puzzle, too. I simply do not think it is reasonable for them to instantly traverse the electricity web and rescue Daltrahk.

2. IC Daltrahk

"Oh... Oogh." Daltrahk wheezed as he felt himself over. Not noticing the current was a little less at all, he checked Magma Gear first. Slamming into the wall had been very minor, after all, he was used to it, flying around by the energy grappler and quickly zooming up to structures. It was the electricity that rattled his teeth and slightly burned his other arm and leg.

Walking around like he was half drunk, he leaned on the wall fr support as he groaned "You guys comin' yet....?"

Going to be frank with you, Ghidora: I'm not okay with this response.

Daltrahk acted hastily and disregarded the "solution" in favor of launching himself straight through dozens of arcs of electricity. Straight through them. I do not believe one of Daltrahk's powers is electrical resistance.

I can see him shrugging off the wall impact, if it had been the only thing - but again, he was clearly in a situation where he'd be severely electrocuted.

OOC: Had school exams, but they're done now. So I just gotta catch up. Haven't been paying attention to everything. And to Colonel Roy Mustang, both choices are wrong, somewhat.

IC: Kuro and Prose/Kuro's POV/Gem of ??? with Daltrahk

Seeing Daltrahk's risky feat quickly made the decision of who he will help across first. Skillfully moving his sword to block impeding beams, he and Prose made their way more safely to the other side.

"Prose. Use your power to revitalize him so we can continue."

He applied his power to him as we continued to move along.

I'm not okay with this either, but at least you used the sword as intended. It isn't a simple "let's walk through with the sword held in front of us!" - it's a careful system of navigating it like a web as I referred to it multiple times.

Also, just warning you, when they do make it across, it's probably going to take a while to partially heal Daltrahk. Gem-generated defenses are very damaging.

However, I will take the blame for not posting in response to Ghidora quickly enough, which caused you to react as if there was no issue with it.

3. Credit to Nato, whose joke post I borrowed and heavily modified...

GM IC - GEM OF ???

As a result of his suicidal maneuver, Daltrahk suffered severe electrical shocks and burns from the lightning bolts that he had launched himself hastily through, as well as impacting heavily into the solid metal wall on the other side. Watching on helplessly as their ally collapsed - at best significantly dazed, at worst critically injured and unconscious - Kuro and Prose were left stunned by the Skakdi's rash action.

On the positive side, after Daltrahk flew through the electrical arcs, about half of them fizzled out. The web of electricity was now less dense, allowing Kuro and Prose a slightly easier path to the other side.

4. Sorry if I misled you, Arctic, but my intention is not that the bolts will all be completely attracted to the sword. It isn't going to get them a free pass through. I'd say it blocks whichever ones the blade crosses the path of, maybe ones slightly out of the path, but not going to give you a free pass. :P

I'm pretty sure their heights are similar.

Unfortunately, the Rahkshi would find that the sword did not attract all of the electricity. Several bolts remained crossing the tunnel - he'd only be able to block a couple at a time.

Submerging himself into the tunnel, Langmuir quickly found that it sloped up and widened, opening again into a water-free space. In fact, it was a rather wide room. Across from the tunnel was a ledge, above that a pair of doors, with a single torch attached to the wall between the two doorways.

Kuro found that his sword did indeed warp the path of the electric bolts. Evidently this was the key to the passage.

As Halken pulled the lever, a mechanical kla-chunk could be heard from within the wall of the pit. The water began to drain rapidly, revealing a doorway of sorts, or another tunnel entrance, carved into the stone that had previously been submerged. It seemed just large enough for Halken to fit, similar to the initial tunnel.

IC Daltrahk

Daltrahk looked at the two Rahks. Considering he was capable of throwing himself around on that grapple of his withstanding the pressure with only is shoulder, AND landing on his feet every single time, he was probably the best choice for this. Karz, those boss-people better fix up any wounds he receives...

"I'm probably best choice then." Daltrahk said a little nervously. "But how can we break the current for approximately... 2 seconds?"

GM IC - GEM OF ???

As Daltrahk spoke, a bolt of electricity jumped from the wall just next to him - and it would have struck, perhaps harmfully, had it not been redirected to Kuro's sword. The Rahkshi found himself unhurt by the electricity as the leather grip of the weapon insulated him.
7. I hate to re-ask the same question but are people allowed to take books out of the knowledge sector?

This time I know I answered it. Yes.

GM IC: THE QUEEN'S QUEST

As the group huddled around the plaque, this was what they saw:

Falling and falling in the darkening tunnels

The ussal cannot hear the ussal rider;

Things fall apart; the gems cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The mind-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of independence is drowned.

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Dream of eight gems to infinity.

---

OOC: I will give credit to W. B. Yeats for the poem "The Second Coming". Certain phrases were changed to either fit a Bionicle setting or to alter the meaning of this stanza to fit the story of the RPG.

There are a few key words in there that will become incredibly obvious in retrospect if they aren't obvious already.

Next Queen post, we enter the Labyrinth.

ussal is definitely the most important
8. GM IC - GEM OF ???

The metal object poking Halken's spine turned out to be a lever extending from the surface of the wall, just above the waterline.

GM IC - GEM OF ???

The metal gave way slightly under Kuro's attack, but out of the hole came more sparks. The electrical arcs ahead of them remained steady, spaced out at oddly even intervals along the pathway, like one might expect from some bizarre sort of laser grid.

Arctic/Ghidora, is it safe to assume that Daltrahk or one of the Rahkshi has a leather grip, or something along those lines, on a weapon?

9. After a long while, I decided that 6D gear balls don't really work in any way shape or form. So I shall bother the staff with a different profile.

Name : Izarargi

Species : Skakdi

Power/Weapon One : Eternal Arms Mastery. As a knight and warrior of the highest caliber and prestige, the possessor of this ability is able to take hold of any object and strengthen it's qualities as a weapon*. A stone taken in hand and thrown would see it's aerodynamic qualities and mohs rating increase. A rusty iron pipe would become fortified and capable of trading blows with great swords of legend

*This strengthening only lasts as long as she is holding the item and in the case of projectiles, a few seconds after they have been thrown

Power/Weapon Two : Hide of the Nemean Lion. The blessed hide of a ferocious bone white lion, slain in single combat by the demigod Heracles and passed down through Izarargi's sect of warriors. It has been fashioned into a great cloak and hood, the visage of the creature still glaring with the primal fury and hatred it bore in life. Grants the user some protection from magical and elemental attacks that strike the hide*

*Not as strong as Zangah's protection or any energy shield. It's more like a cloak that protects the wearer from extreme temperatures, shocks and shrapnel

Power/Weapon Three : Caledfwlch. Sword gifted to Izarargi by a wise old thaumaturge and blacksmith. It is crafted of the finest protosteel and when drawn will raise all of the user's physical attributes (Strength, Agility, Endurance, Luck) by one point at the cost of sealing their other abilities. In physical terms, Caledfwlch would be likened to a zweihander in the hands of a Toa or Vortixx, in Izarargi's grip it is mere broad sword

Appearance : Standing two hundred eighty seven centimeters tall and weighing in at two hundred forty eight and a quarter kilograms, Izarargi is an especially large individual. Unlike the majority of her species, she does not possess spines, but instead has a thick bristly mane from the trapezoidal muscles down to the erector spinae. Body and mane are a deep crimson. The small superficial pieces of armor are a lighter golden-orange in color. Eyes and heartlight shine with a shade similar to her body

Bio : A lifetime proselyte in the famed sect of Nearlight warrior-monks, Burdina Santua Kateanzaldun. Izarargi is a fervent worshiper of the various celestial deities and a direct pupil of the group's abbot, Enrico Pucci. She has seen little of the outside world and it's differing ways of life

Personality : Laconic and sometimes slow to react and act in social situations. A firm believer that the blade is the highest and most divine form of mercy for many a sinner

Dang it, don't know how I missed this one. Approved.
