Oof, don't get me started on manga. There's a link to my list in my signature. The ones I follow weekly or monthly are Fairy Tail, Attack on Titan, Arpeggio of Blue Steel, Assassination Classroom, Real Account (i would KILL for an anime of this!), and Tsujiura-san to Chupacabra. There's a few I'm following whose scanlations are behind and get posted sporadically but regularly: 4 Cut Hero (oh my lord this one is amazing), Dagashi Kashi (anime coming soon, hype hype​), I Don't Want to Say I'm a Chicken, and Mizutama Honey Boy. Several I'm just waiting for scanlations to resume... there's one volume each left of Full Dozer, Chicha Koi Nikki, and Ichiro Heian. Nothing I can do about those I guess. My manga-tracking site includes light novels so I'll mention those. I'm following five translations- Amagi Brilliant Park, Saekano, Re:Zero, Fire Girl, and Chaika: The Coffin Princess- over at NanoDesu as they update. Several others, including Rokka no Yuusha, Sekai Game, and Sky World are at the top of my to-read list. I'm working through my print copy of Black Bullet vol. 1, and a bunch of others are on my shelf. Sword Art Online vol. 5, Devil is a Part-Timer vol. 2, Attack on Titan: Kuklo Unbound, and AoT: Harsh Mistress of the City vol. 1. I need to pick up the pace.

I absolutely ADORED Jitsu wa Watashi wa. Shiragami is queen. Agreed, the VA in this series was great. I'm still surprised at how much I like Aizawa, and I think it's from her performance. Looks like the fall season's started. First off, I tried to start with Concrete Revolutio, Kagewani, and Onsen Yousei Hakone-Chan but gave up partway through each for lack of sense, horrible animation, and lack of substance respectively. So that's three less to follow. Probably a good thing. Premise and worldbuilding-wise, Heavy Object had a good start, even if its intro was exposition-heavy. If for the rest of the series it can avoid the kind of "sexual harassment" jokes like it used this one time, it has the potential to be really great. The Asterisk War was pretty cool. Looks like it'll have all the good things about Infinite Stratos, hopefully without the bad. Nice battle animation too. Here's hoping it can mostly avoid harem tropes. Attack on Titan: Junior High. Well. I mean. It made me laugh. So there's that. Already talked about One-Punch Man when I saw the pre-air episode the other day. I decided to try to foray into Gundam with the new series, Iron Blooded Orphans, since I was told it's a new timeline and thus a jumping-on point. Unlike the weirdness of Recon in G, this one had a solid pilot and cool, realistic setting. I have high hopes for this! What else... Comet Lucifer and Lance 'N Masques both had interesting starts, hopefully they can each go someplace. Not much else to say on them for now. I also finally rewatched Gargantia, first time since the simulcast. The dub is pretty dang good. And the show is better than I remembered! I also had a friend with me who hadn't seen it before, it was fun seeing his reaction to all the Urobuchi-trademark twists. I also splurged and ordered the Attack on Titan complete collection on Blu-ray. Crunchyroll was running a great sale. I regret nothing!

I really liked Castle Town Dandelion... It really improved itself as it went on. With such a large cast I'm surprised it got me to care about all of them. ...And Gargantia is nothing sort of my favorite anime... Charlotte ended on a cool episode and a nice final scene, but all in all it had serious pacing and cohesion issues. It was full of so many great ideas but never put its utmost into most of them. Especially in the second half. It did have lots of great scenes though (the desert scene from the final episode was great) and a likeable cast. School-Live... oh MAN, School-Live. I could not have asked for a better finale. Did a fantastic job of capitalizing on the characters' development and hit the thematic nails on the head. I have GOT to read the manga soon. Finally watched that pre-air One Punch Man episode. Cannot wait for the whole series.

Thanks! Though I think I'll pass on EoE given your description... I typically don't have the constitution for stuff like that ^^' And the Rebuild films (1.0, 2.0, and 3.0) are a reboot, right? I'll check those out if I enjoy the original series. This will all be after I get started in Gundam, of course!

I really ought to watch Evangelion one of these days. If I can ever figure out the proper viewing order, that is.

I haven't seen the movies, but i watched the TV adaptation from a couple years back. Agreed, the mecha battles are amazingly animated. I thought the plot was a bit lacking though. I heard that the story was changed for the TV series, so I can't judge the films.

Can't say I know anything about it, other than there's a season of it currently airing.

Just upgraded from Windows 8 to 10, i need to try this game again. It didn't get along with my computer before.

@Nik the Three, glad to hear you're getting into the anime world and enjoying it! And look forward to SAO, it's fantastic. There's two series, Sword Art Online and Sword Art Online II, which together cover the first eight volumes of the light novel series. There's also the SAO: Progressive novel side series, which covers side stories that chronologically take place early in the story and covers events not seen in the anime.

Yeah, I've heard... things... about Shimoneta... frankly I'm a bit too scared to try it. Terminus, thanks for the advice. I think I'll start with Zero, then UBW, then FSN. After that maybe I'll check out a few of the side/spinoff series.

It's been nearly 2 weeks since anyone's posted, figured I'd stir the pot with a question for anyone who's watched the Fate/ series. I've seen that there's several different series of the anime, followign the different routes of the visual novel, and other spinoff/side/prequel/sequel manga and light novels as well. From what I've best gathered, it seems that the "proper" order is to watch both seasons of Fate/Zero, then Fate/stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (the most recent 2-season TV series), with the original TV anime being an alternate story disconnected from Zero. Is this correct? Where exactly do the other works best fit in? Is it true the UBW movie should be avoided at all costs? And am I correct in assuming the Fate/kaleid series is an unrelated spinoff?

What's the __monogatari series all about? I've heard good things but know nothing except it has a confusingly large number of different titles/subseries/spinoffs.

Not a bad start to the summer season. Lots of series with some serious potential. Akagami no Shirayukihime had a great start! I'm getting Yona vibes from this, which is a good thing. The animation is fantastic too, especially in the details of charatcers' smaller motions. The scene where Zen confronted the prince stood out in that way. Gate, Classroom Crisis and Charlotte all established cool premises. Moreso Gate. Expecting great things from all. Especially Gate. :3 Nothing else much stood out to me yet. Hopefully we get some real gems this season. (Also can we talk about how Aoharu x Kikanjuu is literally Ouran with guns? Like there is no other discernable difference.)

I like this mentality, because it a) makes a lot of sense, b) allows associating of sorta-similar figures into a species (I like to think Sidorak, Hydraxon, and Trinuma are all Steltians; Hydraxon is a proto-Steltian who wears those neck-blades to emulate horns, and Sidorak's tubes are his horns), and c) lets me headcanon Mata Nui as an artsy-fartsy dweeb. :3

That might be going a little far. I like where Mantax was placed, and I couldn't see him fitting in with Kalmah. That, and I think it was confirmed that each Barraki had a unique species. Right. Duh. How did I forget this?! Derp. *headdesk*

Welp, Sound! Euphonium ended today. I guess that wraps Spring 2015 in terms of what all I was watching. My overall ranking, then thoughts below: Assassination Classroom (cour 2) Knights of Sidonia: Battle for Planet Nine My Love Story!! Re-Kan!! Plastic Memories Sound! Euphonium...Holy cow I didn't finish many shows. I dropped six! (Arslan just stopped being interesting, Blood Blockade Battlefront was an incomprehensible mess, Denpa Kyoushi had a nice start but ran out of steam quickly, Gunslinger Stratos had an interesting premise and a killer ED but never found its legs, Mikagura School Suite ran out of steam after a while, and Seraph was just awful through and through.) I really liked the first half of Assassination Classroom, but man oh man do I love it now. Adding a solid story arc to the last third of the show really worked in its favor. The finale was awesome, I'm stoked for Season 2, I'm currently binging the manga, and did I mention the killer new OP? (Dancing Karasuma is where it's at) Knights of Sidonia remained just as epic for its second season as it was from the start. The animation has markedly improved too. A massive portion of the manga has been translated officially, I'll have to check that out. My Love Story!! is nothing short of brilliant. I just love how it focuses on the more "ordinary" aspects of relationships rather than creating unnecessary melodrama (though I wouldn't mind watching Gouda jump out of an exploding building again). I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed Re-Kan!, but it was perfectly charming. The ghost characters ironically gave the show life, and the (regrettably minor) development of the human cast (aside from Inoue and Amami) was nice. I don't think Plastic Memories turned out to be what any of us wanted at first (something in the same vein as Death Parade, using its scifi setting to analyze mortality via weekly vignettes) but after about five episodes of cool scifi worldbuilding and another four or so of tossing all that out the window with mindless sitcom jokes at Tsukasa's expense, it managed to stick the landing and go out with a classy bang. Sound! Euphonium was... a thing, I guess. I signed up for a drama about a high school orchestra club and got, as I described it to a friend, Free! but with girls playing concert band instead of guys in Speedos. It was hard not to be happy with how the finale turned out though, and Midori and Hazuki's antics were consistently fun. In other news, the recent Amagi Brilliant Park OVA was nothing short of perfection. I've also fallen in love with Nisekoi (as you may have guessed by my new icon), and Psycho-Pass is pretty enjoyable too. Now if you'll excuse me, the new volume of Sword Art Online: Progressive is calling my name!

I agree, it pales in comparison to last season. We have gotten some good stuff like My Love Story!! and Knights of Sidonia season 2 at least, but yeah, a lot of shows were disappointments. I think I hit a personal record with 6 shows dropped just from this season. I'll post my overall reactions to the season once the rest of the shows I'm following end.

I think you lot me on this one Lass. While I know plants require Water and usually some form of Earth to protect the seed then roots as the plant grows. Though why air and fire? I mean I guess air relates to Oxygen and plants create that in photosynthesis? So they create it, they don't actually need it originally. But still one does not really need to manipulate all these elements to manipulate a plant but I guess one could try to hinder one via these elements. Controlling plant life requires not only moving plants to your whim but also making sure they are sustained while being used. Fire, Water, and Air would be used to accelerate photosynthesis. Earth would be used to give the faster growing roots room to expand. However, the control would still be incredibly limited. Only having enough power to make flames dance or wind make small gusts. Not powerful enough to be used on its own. ...That's actually a really cool way of looking at it. Headcanon accepted. Maybe the same factors are at play with differentiating Earth from Stone? Iron, Stone, and maybe even Magnetism could be components of Earth.
