  1. IC: Phantom - Ruins on the Water "School?" That was certainly a word that Phantom had never heard before. They didn't like it though, just from it's sound. IC: Fate - Infirmary How intriguing. It seemed hardly possible that such a meek creature could be capable of violence, but any illness of the mind could turn a soft hand into a sharp knife. "Have you met the other one?" My curiosity was genuinely piqued, oddities in rahkshi were always fascinating to me. OOC: I'll do more with Slif and Sim later, and pull out Kekepua when I can.
  2. Alright, the changes have been made.
  3. IC: Fate - Infirmary A quick nod of the head in Spindle's direction said all that was needed. IC: Sim - Infirmary I was still sitting on the side lines, avoiding Fate, when a rahkshi entered carrying a monster of a rahkshi. Without thinking, I stared at the two of them, mouth agape. Whoever had managed to take down a beast of that size must have been incredibly strong. IC: Phantom - Ruins on the Water Phantom was busying themself placing the last few stones when Gaever returned. It was a matter of minutes before they were done now. 'Gaever," they began, "What is forge for?" OOC: At the moment, slif is unconcious due to blood loss.
  4. IC: Fate - Infirmary I raised an eyebrow at Melody. "So... is it true then?" I lowered my voice, talking in almost a whisper, "There are two rahkshi inside the one head?"
  5. IC: Phantom - Ruins Dejected, but not deterred, Phantom continued to help Gaever gather stone. Hefting one block in each arm from the selection Gaever had gathered, they turned around and headed straight back to the.. forge, was it? What sorts of things went into forges anyway? If Gaever was a "mechanist", and that mechanists made things? They'd have to ask her once they got back. IC: Slif - Halls "Huh? ... Oh, right, right." Moving along, I saw a familiar face pass by. "Hey, uh..." Tube wasn't slowing down any time soon though, so I ended up looking behind me at the brown face. "I think... I know..." But I couldn't even finish my thought before my brain tuckered out completely. IC: Fate - Infirmary As soon as Palma came to Tear's side, I relented immediately. No use wasting a good life with petty pride. If it wasn't my job to help her, then so it would be. And then, the smaller one, Melody, thanked me. "I am called Fate. There is no thanks needed, really," I began, cleaning my armor of fluid as I spoke, "I follow the will of the virtue of Destiny, and it seemed it's will that I should help Tear."
  6. Alright then, can I have a different backup weapon instead? As far as the tail goes, I really only mentioned the regeneration as a nod to lizards. I'm perfectly fine with it not being capable of that. On another note, I can't help but smile everyone someone mentions resigning to the will of "fate" XD
  7. On the wiki, I read that guandao are used first as disarming weapons/tools, and the notched hook on the front is used to catch other weapons. They aren't terribly big, sort of like someone cut a circle out of the base of the blade. I also read that sometimes they had serrated backs, and while I'm not sure about the functionality, I like the aesthetic. If one guandao works better functionally then that's fine, but can she carry on as a spare? In her dorm maybe?
  8. Wow, I haven't had the urge to make a new character until the re-opening. It's like when you aren't hungry for anything in particular until someone sets the cookie jar in front of you. Suddenly, it's cookie time. -------------------------------- Name: Kekepua Variation: Heat Vision Level: 2 Gender: Female Gear: A guandao; a moderate length, black blade, tipped in jade-green, with serrated backs that match her spine’s appearance, a hook on the base of the blade for catching opponent’s weaponry in combat, and a weighted, diamond-shaped pommel. Two daggers adorn a sash around her waist, accompanied by a colorful bag, containing a few small heat and light stones. Appearance: Bright red and orange armor covers Kekepua, with ashen under structure. Her spines are graceful and many, lining her back like a great saw blade. A long, draping tail extends from her back, covered in segmented plates, both above and underneath. Her legs are naturally digitigrade, and while her hunch is no more pronounced than usual, her stance leaves her lower set than most, more akin to that of a raptor. Her eyes are a jade-green. Personality: Kekepua does not care for much other than her next meal and her personal comfort. When it comes to others, of any species, she is unconcerned and ambivalent, particularly to the bland looking ones. If there is one things that can spark her interest like nothing else, it’s sashes. Sashes, scarves, long trailing fabrics of any kind. Kekepua goes crazy over them. All of this would make her out to be beastly, or single-mindedly simple. Such is not the case. Kekepua is very intelligent, and has a broad vocabulary and large love of words, both written and spoken. Bio: When Kekepua first emerged, her makuta immediately noted her long, slithering body. Her sibling that emerged immediately adjacent also trailed such a sweeping appendage, but met with a fate much less pleasant, and became a suit that fit Kekepua and perfectly accomodated her tail. This was the first of a number of oddities that her makuta recorded. They repeatedly found Kekepua gnawing on heat and light stones, casually enduring the burning sensation they wrought. After a prolongued period of this strange habit, the other rahk began to notice smoke and sparks curling from her mouth most times she spoke. After a dental inspeciton, the makuta found her mandibles had become pocked, pitted, and full of deposits of heat and light stone dust. Upon asking her as to the reason of this habit, she said, “If I am to burn as bright as the stars, I must first learn the taste of fire.” The makuta was entirely befuddled by this strange child. Ultimately, they sent Kekepua to Corpus. Thanks to her habit of gnawing on heat and light stones, Kekepua can heat her mandibles to cause the powder residue left from the stones to cause minor smoke and flame to burst from her mouth. It’s by no means viable as a weapon, but it can be startling or surprising. Her tail is like a third, blunt weapon. Not prehensile in any way, but it can be swept from side to side with the motion of her body. It is not overly sensitive, and thus makes an effective bludgeoning tool when positioning allows it. ------------------------- Edited for Approval.
  9. IC: Fate - Infirmary "Sh sh sh shh, it'll be alright. Nothing will happen to you, least of all while I'm capable of action." I gestured at Melody, with my eyes; she'd have to support her on her own from here on out. Acting quickly, but calmly, I reached for the same poultice that had been used for Spindle, and the smallest, sharpest scalpel I could find. Without saying a word, I drew the scalpel with delicate force across the plating of Tear's neck. The bands sprung open one by one, until the kraata was clearly visible. Now that pressure had been released I had to act quickly. Ichor now began to flow from the unrestricted cut, albeit hindered by scabs. "Stay very still now," I say gently. The wound didn't appear too serious after all, but the supply of fluid to the brain would be driving liquid out constantly now. With the smallest amount of poultice put in place, I laid a cloth bandage around her neck. Hopefully that would serve to keep the poultice in, and to curb bleeding. IC: Phantom - Ruins "O-oh..." That was a bust. Phantom glumly looked down at the ground in front of them as they continued moving along.
  10. IC: Phantom - Ruins on the Water "Tower! Good stone?" It was a pity, really, that Gaever likely wouldn't use this stone.
  11. IC: Phantom - Ruins on the Water "Tower!" Phantom ran up to Gaever, and tried to grab onto her arm, still moving forward. IC: Fate - Infirmary "Alright, you're doing fine. Melody, hold her there while I work." Still supporting her while she sat up, I carefully slid her kraata case off it's housing. "This would be the third time today I've done this." I muttered. All rahkshi have a kraata case, where the main body of the kraata is housed and kept safe. The case's armor is arguably the most durable on a rahkshi suit, but it has one very fatal flaw; for the sake of mobility, the kraata's head comes forward into a seperate face-piece, with a flexible, flimsy covering between it and the main body. I could immediately see that Tear's neck-funnel had a puncture wound. It didn't look very wide, and she was still breathing, so it couldn't have been too deep. Still, this was a delicate wound. Trying to fix it might do more damage than good. I touched it gingerly, and fluid easily came flowing out. "I think... we're going to need Palma."
  12. iC: Fate - Infirmary "Alright then-" I put one hand under her back, near the base of the kraata case, "I'm going to lift now, tell me if it hurts too much." OOC: Wait, does Gaever know about the tower?
  13. I was thinking the same thing with holding a vote for leveling up, and possibly a nomination process(not for approvals). Most of all though, we need someone to take over Palma, (and that skakdi instructor? is he even still around?) before we appoint more staff. On that point though, I would totally be behind adding staff members eventually, hopefully to bring more order to the chaos that goes on in the halls.
  14. I would volunteer too, but I don't know how much longer I'm going to be here. I'd totally be behind Sergei too.
  15. I'm also fully behind this GM Council,(which I personally like to think of as the "Corpus Council" XD) this game really needs a sort of authority while Wyrds away.
  16. IC: Fate - Infirmary "No, no, he didn't say much. Just that you were a friend." It'd be best to not upset her right now, any truth that might need to be told can wait until after her neck is healed. "I'm going to have to lift your chest to see the damage to your neck, is that alright?" OOC: How did Tear's neck get hurt again?
  17. IC: Phantom - Ruins on the Water To say there was much left of Phantom on the Water would be gratuitous, to say the least. It had quite literally been leveled to the ground, with only a few ragtag pieces of structure jutting up from the land. The tower from earlier was likely one of the last few structures actually still standing... The tower! That had lots of good stone! "Ooh! Ooh! Gaever! Stone! Lots good stone!" They began jumping up and down in excitement
  18. IC: Phantom - Ruins on the Water If Gaever expected Phantom to follow, then she would not be disappointed. Or, she would, if she was hoping for the opposite. Either way, Phantom was oblivious to any of Gaever's inner musings, so they followed her suit. They felt safer around Gaever, or at least, better. Company of any kind was a much better alternative to being alone, after all, and Gaever's company was, so far, the most enjoyable that Phantom had experienced. No leaving them behind with no explanation, no impatient comments. Certainly no pointing of any weapons, like Vyper and Pentaghast had been doing. Phantom paused. There was a word for this, wasn't there? Had they heard it? Or was it yet another of those words tucked away in their brain, for no explicable reason? They continued on. They'd think of the word eventually.
  19. IC: Phantom - Ruins on the Water Piece by piece, the stones brought the wall higher and higher. It began to remind Phantom of the tower from before, though more stable, and just a little neater. Now that the mist had dissipated some, they could see the fine carving on some sides of the stones, interrupted by cracks and broken pieces. Considering how hard stacking these stones was, it must have been hard to get all of these to the village in the first place. Phantom only wished that they could have met the villagers... They could have learned a lot from them. As they bent down for another, Phantom realized there were only a few stones left in their pile now. It might be best to go get more. "Gaever." They called, and pointed at the pile, and it's dwindling nature. IC: Sim - Infirmary There she went, doing her thing. Certainly no need for me anymore. As much as I want to, I'd hate to go into stasis again. I needed to do something with myself, and I couldn't do that while stuck in a quantum lock. I elected to toy with sheets dangling on the edge of the bed closest to me, idly entertained. OOC: Sim OFI
  20. IC: Slif - Gym Couldn't feel my feet all that much, just a bit fuzzy down there. Made for an unsteady ride when I got back on them. "Whoa hoho;.... where we goin'?" I couldn't hardly talk, all my words got stuck up in my mouth. IC: Fate - Infirmary "Very well.," I nodded, "I am Fate. I will be performing any suit maintenance and repair, or if need be, emergency organic repair. What would be the reason for your visit today, Tear?"
  21. Yeah, I can see that. I was going for a slight perspective with the arm going more forward, but looks like I still need to work on that.
  22. IC: Fate - Infirmary I shook my head. "No. You are likely in no position to help me, nor do I need any help. However it seems I've become the unofficial "nurse" for today, so I am in fact here to help you." Placing the last of my tools on the rack, I sat upright on the bed at this teal rahk's side. "Now, may I have your name?"
  23. Figured I'd upload here too, try that out and all. Yeh. This is a piece of gift art for Click, who has been a great friend to me since we met last year. I asked if he wanted to see any characters drawn and he said to "surprise him", so I chose Nash. 'Cause she's pretty freaking cool. Alt pic. here, since it won't upload in a proper size
  24. IC: Slif - Gym Was he trying to help me up? Heh, that was nice. Wish I could help him there. Another stream of blood erupted from my arm when I tried to push myself up, like some kinda geyser. This was really bad, I couldn't hardly think straight. Stars pushed in at the sides of my eyes, joined by the black space between them. It was almost beautiful, if I couldn't help but remember that it was the hallucinations of a blood-starved brain. "I'm... I'm losing a lot of... stuff. Blood? Can... I call it that? Is that what's... in me?" I started rambling quietly to myself. IC: Fate - Infirmary Melody and her friend were still engaged in conversation when I approached them. Without interrupting, I retrieved my cart from Spindle's bedside, and wheeled it to this supposed "dual-personality" rahk. While sorting my tools, I realized that I had already met a two-headed, conjoined rahk today, so I couldn't rule out the possibility, but the word of a mad-man is scarce better than no word at all. IC: Phantom - Ruins on the Water The work continued, piece by piece. The walls were getting rather tall now, approaching their shoulder's height. Maybe the walls were going to get tall enough that they would cover their heads? What if they fell over, like the rest of the world around them? Just another pile of rocks, just another grave. They'd rather not think thoughts like that.
