  1. IC: ??? - Ruins on the Water "Why??" They'd used this word enough now that it wasn't too hard to say right off.
  2. Ic: Slif - Gym Figured he'd try that. I turned my back to deal with the blow- as tough as my arms are, my shell can take a much bigger beating. As one arm struggled with the shield and my back tilted to face the sword, it put my other arm in the perfect position for an uppercut. My arm shot up for his abdomen... IC: ??? - Ruins on the Water They nodded vigorously. They really had to remember that word; Curious. They'd probably use it a lot in life. Like right now, as they clarified, "Curious!"
  3. IC: Slif - Gym See, this is why I was worried about the shield. My shoulder slammed into the top of it, shoving the both of us forward, but not very far. I had to figure out a way to get rid of the shield. The moment we both skid to a stop, I pulled back my arm that was connecting to the shield and tried to catch it on the hard edge of my gold band. Even if I couldn't peel away the shield right off, if I could wear down that hand I could get him to let go eventually.
  4. IC: ??? - Ruins on the Water Oh, they could answer that! "*Thud*" The noise wasn't perfect, but it was remarkably close. "*Thud*" Again, just for emphasis. While it might not be very descriptive, in their own paradoxical way, it made perfect sense.
  5. IC: Fate - Infirmary I nodded, appreciative of his quick cooperation. "Firstly, I'm going to have to remove your shoulder casing to see the internal damage. If you move your shoulder at all while I'm working it could become dislodged, or worse. So I'd advise you to keep still." In a few quick steps, I had his damaged casing removed and set on the cart. Despite my stony face, I was internally grimacing. The shoulder joint was shot, but the real issue was the operating tentacle. What was left of it was jammed deep into the pneumatics, which were having problems maintaining control anyway. This would be difficult, but destiny had brought me this challenge, so I would face it head on. IC: ??? - Ruins on the Water "Hu-who?" What a strange question. They were just... them. That's all. "Muh... Me." Did they really need to say anything more? IC: Slif - Gym I brought my fist back down, slamming into the sword as it came swooshing up. The sword bit into the armor, despite it's strength. I had to try blocking with just my arm bands more, this wouldn't be good if I had to keep up with him like this. Without stopping, I forced the sword as far down as I could and threw my shoulder forward, hoping to catch him off guard with my bulk.
  6. Ic: Slif - Gym There it was, the first move. It felt more like a test strike than anything, not a whole lot of power. I brought my forearm up quickly to deflect it, bouncing it off my reinforced armor. The reach of the sword didn't really worry me, he was still a little distanced from me so his arm could only extend so far. I hunched my body forward, really getting into the defensive, and cocked an eyebrow.
  7. IC: Silf - Gym "Well, come on then!" I burst out into another small fit of laughter. If he really thought I was going to go rushing in at a karzing sword, he was going to have to wait for awhile. I had a feeling these "honor bound" rahks weren't going to fare well in the game. I'd probably get out pretty quickly too then, but not before this prestigious sack of mahi dung. Ooh, he riled me up. 'Goody.' I thought as a chuckle rolled through my shoulders. My eyes burned with excitement, but I waited. I was better at defense, and I had to hope his patience was the thinner between the two of us.. IC: Sim - Courtyard "If it's all the same to you," I say to the squishy... mess, in front of me, "I don't think I can grab a hold of you." I wiggled my arms in their imprisonment for emphasis. IC: ??? - Ruins on the Water Well, they've certainly been lying there for a while. Maybe it's time to wake them up? ... 'Thud' There was a thud. A loud thud. A definite, audible, thud. Did it wake the sleeping white rahk? No, no it did not. Did the second thud? Or the third? Fourth, fifth, sixth? Nope. It was around thud number eleven when the repetitive nonsense pounded through the fog of sleep. And the literal fog too, because wow, that's a lot of fog. Blinking open their ghostly, dead eyes, they tried to pick out the sound that had distrubed them. Why did it keep coming back? Why was it so determined to keep them awake?? Their frustration kindled, and curiousity piqued, the white rahk decisively rose from their lovely spot of dirt and made it's way to... whatever that noise was. And that noise. And that. They began to keep a tally for the thuds they heard, which put them at... fiiiiive? Seven? Probably seven, although they weren't sure if they had missed a thud while trying to think.... They decided not to keep a tally. Which was alright actually because they had just discovered the source of the thuds! It was another rahkshi, putting large chunks of stuff in a row, and putting mud on it. Their frustration melted entirely into intrigue, and they sat only two or three paces away to observe the spectacle. Best not interrupt whatever they are doing, they seem very focused. '-aCHOO' The white rahk sneezed, if only lightly. Oh dear. OOC: ??? interacting with Gaever. Ghid, I'm still waiting on a Spindle post
  8. I happen to have a pretty fitting picture for this
  9. IC: Slif - Gym The moment both of my feet touched the floor of the platform, this Paladin guy started his knightly spiel. "Serf?" That tickled me a bit, "Did you call me a Serf? Who says that anymore?? Haha." This guy was going to be a hoot. I didn'r even care so much if I beat him or not, it would just be fun to see him get riled up. I bowed with as much exaggeration as I could muster, and threw one arm in the air. "Well, then, I welcome you, sir knight. I certainly hope you don't ruin your illustrious armor."
  10. IC: Slif -Gym Paladin? What kind of a name was... oh. I see. Well. Talk about dedication to a theme. I picked out pieces of grime from my biceps as I have him a good look. My biggest problem was probably going to be the shield. I can block a sword with my heavy armor fairly enough, but a shield meant I would have the same problem with him, and I didn't have the advantage of having a sword. With a shrug and a grin, I slowly moseyed over to my platform.
  11. IC: Slif - Gym "Alright then, I'll join," I said after a few seconds of thinking it over. "Name's Slif, S-L-I-F." I picked at a bit of mucus in the corner of my eye, and flicked it. Fleshy box of a body just won't let me be sometimes. IC: Fate - Infirmary The glob of blood soared briefly before it splattered on the ground, sending bits of coagulating fluid onto my feet. "...Lovely. We'll start with your shoulder then, that looks to be the deepest wound. Sit here on the table." I gestured to the table previously occupied by the weak-stomached blue rahkshi from a few moments ago. IC: Sim - Courtyard I was about to protest again when the rahkshi above me began to stretch. I uncomfortably watched on as the display of variation prowess went on above me. It was actually rather disgusting, to be perfectly frank.
  12. Slif isn't actually quite signed up, but I'm about to do that anyway.
  13. IC: Fate - Infirmary "I thought so." At that moment I realized he had likely meant that he would have been without a suit due to it possibly being irreparable... rather poor cognizance on my part. "Which wound hurts the most?" IC: Sim Xire - Courtyard "No..." I muttered. My arms were trapped against the grave walls in such a way that I couldn't move them, and only one leg could extend at all. IC: Slif - Gym I lumbered into the gym, my grin betraying my excitement. It was pretty obvious where sign-ups were, the big board with all the rahkshi around it and all. I squeezed through the crowd, compacting just a little to make it easier, until I reached the front. There was a big red guy writing down name on the board, so he was probably the man in charge. "Hey," I called up to him, "What're the rules to this tourney?"
  14. IC: Fate - Infirmary Without his... I blinked in confusion. Surely he didn't think I'd have to separate him as I worked? "At the worst you'd lose function in your right arm for a few minutes. You can stay in your suit while I work." I set down the scalpel, and neatly organized the parts that had yet to be. "...Unless you'd rather not be inside it?"
  15. IC: Slif - Refectory This guy didn't seem all that bright. Probably didn't even know what these posters were for. "Yeah, it looks great," I smiled at him. I turned to look at the other guy. "Oh really?" My gaze shifted again, this time to the poster. This could be something... real for me. Something I could do and see the results of, not like that goose chase I've been on for a way out of this world for all my life. I could make this matter. "I think I'll do just that." With a grin to rival a muaka's bared fangs, I left for what could be the first fulfilling thing I'd done in my life. IC: Sim - Courtyard Did that seriously just happen?? I lay there on the ground, motionless, the half of my staff that ejected laying next to my face. I could see now why it had been left in the cauldron. In hardly a moment's notice, Melody was suddenly above me. I grimaced inwardly; I didn't want her to see me like this! I must have looked absolutely ridiculous, lying here in the dirt with my arms helter-skelter and my nose bashed in. And great, now there was another up there, here to witness me in my stupidity. I groaned as my hands reached over my face, barely containing the exasperation. "No," My muffled voice responded, "Nothing's wrong, I'm fine." IC: Fate - Infirmary I gave him another quick glance, and took in just how inured he was. I was surprised he could even still support himself, all of that ichor and fluid lost. He would definitely need help eventually, or he could expire from just that. And the only person qualified to assist him was currently preoccupied elsewhere.... Palma was still rushing about, performing her duties. Her tenacity and fury in the work was admirable, though it was a shame she was stuck here, working in this swamp-pit of a school. How odd that she, an unevolved member of the species, had become capable of reaching this level of intelligence. I couldn't stop her for injuries as apparently non-serious as these. With a sigh, and no exceptional tone of confidence, I say, "If you need, I can help to repair your suit. I'm a mechanic, not a doctor, but I am certainly equipped well enough to seal your wounds and repair your armor." I frowned, and looked at his face, "I doubt I can do much for your face right now though, too much complex organic material for my expertise."
  16. IC: Fate - Infirmary As the wristblade was deployed, I tensed, realizing that at that moment I would have been mostly defenseless had he attempted to attack. Thankfully he seemed only interested in continuing to prattle on, though I was going to make sure that I wasn't the victim of this ''student abuse" he was speaking of. Casually reaching for one of the scalpels, I said, "If you're going to report abuse, then I think headmaster Icarax or Palma would be a better choice." Was it possible that he had mistaken me for Palma? I suppose it was, but the much busier rahkshi moving from patient to patient would have been the more obvious choice. "Although," I added, "I doubt that Icarax would care either way. Speak your mind if you must." I was still holding the scalpel, pretending to make use of it as I continued disassembling the suit with only one free hand. IC: Slif - Hallways Well, I probably just made that worse. I wasn't all that good at helping people, I guess. I made sure to pick up the bowl as I went. I wasn't about to just keep the bowl, so I let myself wander back into the refectory. Dropping the bowl near the salty server, I noticed two rahk staring at a poster on the wall. I got up close behind them. "What's up with this?" I grinned. OOC: Interacting with Tube and Aerahk IC: Sim - Courtyard Melody stayed behind in the doorway, seemingly content with her position there. I payed no mind to it, and breathed in the air around us. The music continued on as the two rahkshi already outside struck up conversation. I scratched gently at my nose again, the air was nice but it didn't seem to help it improve much. Distracted by my itching, the staff I had found in the cauldron suddenly erupted from my arm, bouncing off my skull and denting it even further. My balance suddenly upset, I careened backwards into an empty grave behind me. As if things couldn't get any worse, my staff came back down on my nose AGAIN, thus ending any hope I had for sounding normal for the next few days. It also hurt quite a lot. "Ack!" A gasping sound escaped my mouth.
  17. IC: Slif - Hallways "Like I said, none of my business," my hands went up in the air, in that no-harm-intended way. "But I know if I had any friend," I turned my back to her and started to walk, "I'd do whatever I could to keep 'em. Have fun, Pinky." IC: Fate - Infirmary I blinked in silent frustration. "That wasn't third person, and if this one's problem had been asking about my face, then you would have the same problem, wouldn't you?" I barely smiled, believing myself to be funny. "But no, this one's problem was a rather large bladed weapon, it would seem. They've been dead for a few days, at least."
  18. IC: Slif - Hallways "You mean the friend that was just trying to help you, just now?" I cocked my head a little. "I doubt it's exactly his fault that his brother stepped in, either. Who knows what's going on with other people in their lives? Of course, the same would go with you, I don't know what exactly it is you've dealt with, but I think it wouldn't hurt if you both had a good talk about it. Which you might have had, I dunno. Not exactly my business." I stooped to pick up the bowl again, and handed it to her, "By the way, this was for you. Your friend had me fetch it for you." Which wasn't exactly true, but whatever to get these two to talk. ... Why was I even acting as a moderator here? I didn't owe these people anything. But here I was, doing it anyway. Not like I had a whole lot else to do today... IC: Fate - Infirmary I sighed internally. Right as I was getting to the meat of it. "I'm a Rahkshi," I stated bluntly, "We have long faces. If you are referring to my expression, then it likely has something to do with the sudden appearance of a nosy rahkshi." Without breaking pace, but keeping a piece of focus on the newcomer, I unsealed the chest to the suit. It hissed and popped as air escaped from it's compressed space. IC: Sim - Hallways I nodded with her words as she finished, and continued to do so, if only slightly, to the light music that glided across the walls. "Another who would seek the path that you follow, hopefully." I added. IC: ??? - Ruins on the Water They continued to lay there, oblivious to the world, and it's surface that they were now covering in fog. It was doubtful that they could even be distinguished from the ground at this point.
  19. IC: Sim - Hallways By the time the music reached my ears, it was evident that Melody had already heard it. "You libe dat music?" It felt obvious, considering her name, but it was good to make conversation. IC: Slif - Hallways Now Pinky was getting closer, still looking pretty upset. "You okay there?" I said, leaning my body to the side to try and meet her at eye-level. The water clearly didn't matter anymore, so I used the same motion to set the bowl down IC: Fate - Infirmary As much fun as that was, I was about to get into the good stuff. Taking apart this beautiful, beautiful suit. And whatever odd or intriguing bits from this set, I'd get to keep and use for myself, rather than storing it away in jars that I'll likely never use again. The shell of the suit had a large gash in it, but it could still be cut into useful, smaller portions. I could very easily double-plate my own armor casing, though I'd have to compensate for the heat increase. I removed it, and set it aside.
  20. IC: Sim - Hallways "I dink the courdyards fibe." I smiled. We continued on down the path. IC: Fate - Infirmary The poor creature that was once a living kraata was now picked apart and arranged in front of me. Each individual organ carefully removed and studied for the sake of science. My only distractions thus far had been when the weak-stomached rahk fainted behind me, and as it woke up in a panic at the fluid I had accidentally flicked onto it's face. I'd been removing the eyes then and I given one of them a gash, but a few carefully applied stitches kept the eye in one piece. I'd imagine if anyone was to use it as a donated organ it would be able to heal once connected to the body. Speaking of donating organs, I began to jar and preserve the organs that were in the most pristine condition, including the eyes. A few, such as parts of the digestive organs and spinal tissue were in much too dilapidated condition for use, both from decomposition and the nasty wound that killed the kraata in the first place. Even more were in poor condition anyway, due to the specimen's odd weight problem. Plenty of parts in the head were salvageable though, as well as the tentacles and a few nervous system. Despite the grimness of the activity I was involved in, I smiled. I'd never thought the body would be as much fun to pull apart and understand as machines are. IC: Slif - Hallways I had the water bowl, now it was time to see if the freak had followed up on his job. Walking quickly, but making sure not to spill anything, I made my way past the library, and then the refectory. "Pardon me," I said through grinning teeth as I walked past two rahks taking their sweet time to walk down the halls. I think I recognized the little one from earlier, but she didn't hardly matter at the moment. Pressing on, I started to hear the beginnings of... another shouting match. Though it sounded much more one-way than most others I had heard. My footsteps marked my arrival as I approached the same two rahkshi from before. Pinky was definitely awake now, and all up and arms at Arms. I stopped before I reached her apparent circle of focus, not really sure what to do.
  21. IC: Sim - Library I sighed, but really I was grateful. "Dokay den." Melody was tugged along as I started to move out of the library.
  22. IC: Sim - Library "Aah, doh." Not while Fate was still in the area over there... or, had she left? Maybe. Either way, this shouldn't warrant that much attention for Palma. "Dis not dat bad. Dit dust sounds bad." I could see her holding in her laughter. Her concealing smile was infectious, it was all I could do to keep myself from laughing too. "Behbe we- I mean I, should dust doh outdide."
  23. IC: Sim - Library "Doh, I'm fibe. I dink I bruisbed by dose as bit doh." I reached up for her arm, accepting her offer to help. I still couldn't believe that had just happened. "Buh. I musbt dound bidiculous."
  24. IC: Fate - Infirmary Snip. In one quick motion, the scalpel tore open the kraata by it's head. It easily separated the soft tissue. Inside was a perfectly intact, if a little stale, kraata brain. I didn't particularly know much about brain anatomy or structure, so I carefully removed it and put it in a jar filled with chemicals. Someone else can have fun with that in the future. I continued picking it apart, identifying certain organs under my breath as I went along. Fluid began to drip down my arms, and pooled on the table beneath it, all while I made sure the fluid didn't leak into the empty suit beside me. Without thinking, I flicked off a large glob of thickened ichor from my arm across the room. Hopefully that didn't hit anyone... OOC: And that's what you call an invitation. IC: ??? - Ruins on the water They thought that they had seen someone... but there didn't seem to be anyone there. Shame. They would have liked some more company. They continued to wander through the mist, finding more and more pieces of dead and broken lives. More than ones had a step resulted in the crunch of a shattered mask(or worse) beneath them. It had been some time now since Pentaghast and Vyper had left. It felt like days. Months, even. This thought dragged them down, and weighted their mind. Fatigue from days of walking set in, slowly. Without warning, their legs suddenly refused to move, and they were on the ground. They let out a sort of cry, and promptly fell to sleep. OOC: I don't know what to do with this character. *shrug* they seem pretty stuck right now.
  25. IC: Slif - Refectory to Gym I rolled my eyes on the way out. He could barely lift her, let alone make it outside. For me, it would have been like picking up a couple of dew fruits. Now that I knew where everything was, a walk to the gym would be pretty short. Subconsciously I started rubbing at a few flecks of food on my chest, and fingering them into my mouth. The flavor didn't even register in my mouth, I just kept wiping it off until I was clean. Before I knew it, I was biting at my claws, running my teeth across to sharpen both my teeth and claws. I traded the bowl between my hands, working on each of them. When I walked through the gym door, I only just realized how into my claws I was getting. I shrugged and relaxed my arm, willing the gym to give me fresh water. As the floor sank and filled, it created a nearly-smooth surface that I could easily see my reflection in. "Hello there, handsome," I couldn't help it. My face was just... right there. "Mind if I borrow some of this? 'Course not." With a quick dip, the bowl was full, and the reflection dissipated. IC: Sim - Library "Nguh-" I woke with a start. My face was flat to the ground, and my hips up in the air. "...Doh." The field surrounding my body dissipated, and I propped myself up with my arms. I don't normally lose balance when I fall asleep in place... hm. I rubbed at my face, I could feel a little dent where I had left the field inactive. "Dat doesn't feel gud." It sounded like my nasal cavity had been closed up too. Not fun. IC: Fate - Infirmary On with the next step in the process, dissection. This brought my focus almost entirely to the kraata, although I would be picking out nerves extensions and a few stray muscle formations in the armor. Suits tended to have a few organic components left over from the transformation process, such as in the arms, and sometimes the calves. I pulled the kraata as far out of it's casing as I could, until the tentacles were taught. I gingerly pulled on each of the tentacles to free the kraata. Most of them came out, but a few had death grips in their sockets. I frowned. I was hoping I could remove the kraata entirely first, but it was going to have to stick around for a while longer.
