  1. IC: Banar "Well, we can probably turn them in somewhere." Banar said. Somewhere's the true question, though. I've not the slightest idea of where to turn in these bestial punks. Banar noticed that Johk was limping somewhat. "Are you okay? You look a bit exhausted."
  2. Simple, straight, to the point, and I like it! I do agree with using the shorter arms to maintain good proportions, even if they do restrict poseability. It does look like an accurate depiction of what a standard villager would be in Gen 2. Calling it a Protector, however, may be a bit inaccurate story-wise, but it's a minor quibble Besides, Gen 2 doesn't have much of a story yet. That, and the use of daggers justifies the term. Overall a great and simple MOC!
  3. Well, I saw this one coming when people noticed that the Protector mask looked like an Arthron (even though the resemblance is only subtle in real life). Still, though, seeing Vakama, an old staple of Gen 1 depicted here really does look great! The use of the Arthron as well as the tails for a beard really does go for the "old" look you were going for (even if it does derive from his original Huna, though it fits even more with Gen 2)! I also really appreciated the use of dark red rather than traditional red here; it really does hearken back to the Toa Metru/Hordika Vakama. I do wonder if they'll name the Protectors later on after the original Turaga... (I really hope they do, even though it's quite unlikely at this point, seeing as they weren't given the original Turaga names from the start) Overall, excellent job recreating Vakama! PS: Vakama likes pulling jokes on villagers? That's not the Vakama I remember! Still though, that actually sounds like a good trait for him, as it helps distinguish him from the PoF, who seems to be the Gen 2 replacement for Vakama.
  4. IC: Banar Banar began walking with Johk, carrying Gerox over his shoulder, who was as far as he knew still unconscious. Poor Gerox, maybe I should've sucked it up and gone without healing... "Here's hoping that nothing else gets in our way." Banar said to Johk, who was dragging the Skakdi by their feet. "What are we gonna do with these Skakdi once we reach Po-Koro?" Banar asked.
  5. IC: Nekka As Nekka waited with Ashala and Londar for the Akiri, Nekka began to yawn. Soon her eyelids became too heavy for her to keep up, and within a few minutes, she was asleep. She didn't snore or make any noise, though, so it was doubtful that Ashala and Londar would be alerted to her falling asleep. As she slipped into unconsciousness, she began to dream. "What? Where am I?" Nekka said as she walked through the uneven lands of the dreamworld. She started to walk towards a light that kept bothering her when she saw what it was. It was a Kanohi. "A Kanohi?? I need to get that!" As Nekka started running, she noticed that she was going nowhere. In fact, she was going backwards! "No no no no no no..." "...no no no no no!" Nekka had woken up, presumably alerting Ashala and Londar. Her face started to turn red as she felt embarassed by her outburst. "Sorry... just woke up from a not-so-good dream."
  6. IC: Moku, Savok As Moku walked through Ta-Koro and all the sights surrounding it, he felt a strange sensation of curiosity take over him. I wish I could save these images permanently into my head... Moku thought to himself. Meanwhile, a Toa of Plasma known as Savok was also walking through Ta-Koro, returning from his travels throughout Mata Nui. He looked relatively strong for a Toa, having a broad body with strong proportions all covered by his orange and white armor. He carried a large battleaxe in one hand; his weapon as a Toa, and he wore an orange Kanohi Kakama, the Mask of Speed, yet even with all of this he was simply walking through Ta-Koro. He spotted an uncomfortable looking Ta-Matoran walking through Ta-Koro. The matoran was apparently sightseeing, though he still looked out of place as if he was in a dark and evil cave. Savok decided to approach him. "Hey, are you okay?" "Um-um yeah, I'm fine! Why do you ask?" "Well, you do look nervous. Are you scared of anything around here?" "Wha- No! I'm not scared. Well, maybe a bit, b-but what kind of person walks up to someone and asks them a bunch of questions?? Speaking of which, who are you?" "I'm Savok, a Su-Toa. And I was only asking because you looked uncomfortable. Are you sure you're alright?" Moku closed his eyes for a moment, imagining a possible scenario involving him confiding to this stranger. Can I trust him...? Well, he is a Toa, and Toa are supposed to be heroes, so... "Okay, I'm not fine. I'm really uncomfortable around others. It's as if I become paralyzed when they talk to me." Moku said to Savok. Moku wasn't looking him in the eyes, and though that's usually a sign of being disrespectful or untrustworthy, in Moku's case it was simply because he was scared of others. "Well gee, I'm sorry for putting you on the spot like that. I just wanted to make sure you were alright." Savok said to Moku, who looked a bit more comfortable now that he had told him of his true thoughts. "Well, that's very kind of you, sir. My name's Moku." Moku's expression turned from a scared look to a more comfortable face. It wasn't quite a smile, but it wasn't a flat face either. "That's nice, are you from Ta-Koro?" "Yes, how did you know?" "What a coincidence; I'm from Ta-Koro too! Maybe we just never saw each other?" "Yeah, I bet that's what it is... I don't talk to people often at all." "That's a shame... But you must feel horrible when put on the spot." "Yeah... Look, I'm just sightseeing here, but when I'm done, would you like to come over to my home?" Moku had never invited anyone over, so it genuinely must have surprised Savok, even if they had just met. "Sure, that sounds nice!" Moku and Savok started to walk all the way to the former's house. True, Moku hadn't walked far, but it was still quite a distance. As they left the cluttered streets of Ta-Koro and into the rural area, Moku sighed a sigh of relief. He was almost home to his comfort zone.
  7. IC: Banar "Unfortunately we don't. In fact, we were in that cave to rest in the first place. Too bad those... those Skakdi ambushed us." Banar said, the pause between the two "those's" a result of his exhaustion. "I technically could get back home quickly with my Kualsi, but that'd leave you guys here, and I'm not willing to do that."
  8. IC: Banar "I've exhausted myself." Banar said. "I can still walk, but that's about it. I've completely exhausted my elemental power." Banar wasn't leaning on his spear heavily, but one could tell he was relying on it quite a lot. The fact that he was injured by the Skakdi didn't help him either.
  9. IC: Banar "Uh oh..." Banar said as the Kikanalo stampeded. He looked behind him, seeing the stampede of Kikanalo and used his elemental power to lift Gerox, Johk, and the two Skakdi up. When the stampede ended, Banar dropped everyone and fell to the ground. Had he not had his spear, which he was now using as a walking stick of some sorts, he would not have been able to get up. "Sorry guys... I don't think that I can help bring the Skakdi to Po-Koro. Johk, can't you move them by their armor with your magnetism?"
  10. IC: Banar "Oh dear..." Banar said as Gerox fell unconscious while "healing" him. He decided to attempt to gently wake him up (if such an action is even possible). "Gerox, wake up. Now's not the time for napping; we're still quite far away from Po-Koro. You can rest when we get there." Banar said to Gerox. Banar had no idea of the limitations of a Turaga, yet he felt that walking to Po-Koro should be something easily done. Let's just hope we don't get ambushed again... he thought.
  11. IC: Banar "Well, not too far. After all, we just left a few minutes ago." Banar told Gerox. Banar lost his balance for a second, though he felt pain when he regained it, which reminded him of his quarrel with the Skakdi a few minutes earlier and the subsequent beating he received. "Hey, Gerox, if you're okay, can you heal me? I got really beaten up in that fight and I could use a bit of healing."
  12. IC: Banar "Don't worry Gerox, you're with us. And by us I mean me, Banar and the Toa we found on the beach, Johk. You fainted when the cave collapsed. Had Johk been dead you'd have been stuck there forever, so you oughtta thank him." Banar explained to Gerox. "We're on our way back to Po-Koro. And, uh, we have some guests." Banar pointed to the unconscious Skakdi floating in the air. OOC: No problemo
  13. IC: Banar As Gerox woke up, Banar became astonished, thinking that one of the Skakdi may have regained consciousness. He decided to gently set down the Turaga so as to not scare him, though he felt it may have been too late at that point. After all, would you want to wake up only to see yourself floating with no control of where you're going?! Nah, I don't think so. But we're getting a bit off-topic here, so let's continue with Banar, Gerox and Johk, shall we? OOC: That's your cue ToaTatonio!
  14. Wow, an article about LEGO turns to Apple. Jeez. I'm no big fan of Apple, to be honest, and comparing LEGO with them is basically saying that LEGO hasn't innovated that much in the last few years, which I feel is not the case. That said, Apple's influence over the media is quite far-reaching, and I understand how this article links the two. And yes, LEGO's comeback to success is much like Apple's comeback from the mid-90s to today, so I can see how the two are similar. Plus, depending on the time frame we're talking here, Apple pretty much invented the modern smartphone with the iPhone, so it's safe to say that Apple innovated there. Granted, LEGO's recent innovations will probably never get on that level of legacy, but LEGO's innovations are still good innovations for toy company standards. All that said about Apple, I still love Android, though that's just me, not on-topic here or anything.
  15. IC: Banar "I'll try and remember that; thank you." Banar said to Johk. True, the blade of Banar's spear was sharp enough to slash, but spears are primarily stabbing weapons, something that Banar was quite unaware of. Typical newbie mistakes. "Oh, and Po-Koro is this way!" Banar said as he pointed west and began to walk.
  16. Well, I've been looking for some interaction on my character Moku (yeah, self-titled). He's just a Ta-Matoran, nothing special. Quite socially awkward, though, so situations with him are bound to be... interesting, to say the least. He's currently just walking around Ta-Koro sightseeing, as he hardly leaves his home due to his desire for solitude (and fear of what may lurk beyond Ta-Koro).
  17. IC: Banar "Oh yeah, I do. I don't know if I can use them all the way to Po-Koro, though. That fight took a lot out of me..." Banar said. He set down the bodies (letting out a deep sigh of relief in the process) and levitated them with his powers of Gravity. "You ready?"
  18. IC: Banar "Oh jeez, a Turaga and two Skakdi? Man, that's asking quite a lot out of me." Banar said. Well, at least I didn't kill anyone. That Skakdi's still on the loose, though... Banar picked up Gerox and one of the Skakdi, letting out a large breath of exhaustion in the process. "Oh sweet Mata Nui this hurts..." Banar mumbled to himself.
  19. IC: Banar "Well, I guess we should get Gerox and get away from this cave." Banar said. Banar began to approach the cave, though slowly as to avoid gathering attention from the Skakdi that may lurk in the cave.
  20. IC: Banar "That sucks, because I could use that Turaga's mask healing power. Those Skakdi sure took a lot out of me." Banar said. He looked quite exhausted and fatigued from the fight. "Wow, all those weapons for three Skakdi? That's quite a lot, even if most of them are daggers."
  21. IC: Banar "Indeed I am. And you're the Toa that Gerox found on the shores of Po-Wahi!" Banar said to Johk. I completely forgot about that Toa! And he said he was a Toa of- Ohhhh. That explains the floating tools! OOC: Last post for night
  22. IC: Banar "Wha-? Who is that?" Banar asked. The voice surprised him, but it also sort of put him at ease. After all, if the Skakdi didn't die, that wouldn't make Banar a murderer either. Still, though, Banar was on guard, though a bit fatigued by having to fight three Skakdi.
  23. IC: Banar Banar felt a wave of shock over him when the spear penetrated the Skakdi's stomach. He thought he had killed the Skakdi. He removed the spear from the Skakdi's stomach and pushed him towards the ground, albeit gently. I killed him. By Mata Nui's sake I've killed him, Banar thought. At least, from what he thought. There was no disqualifying the Skakdi being alive, but the wound in his stomach was possibly fatal.
  24. The only one that comes to mind is LoSS. And I think he's a stellar set with his gear function. Then again, the original rahi didn't have much pose-ability either. I guess we're all spoiled with the newer sets, I suppose.
  25. IC: Banar Banar was knocked down to the ground, and it was only because of his spear that he was able to get up. He had taken quite the beating. He began backing towards the walls near the entrance of the cave, which was still shrouded in dust. Well, I put up quite a fight, but I'm guessing this is- No! You can keep going! Alright... He began to get back on his feet, his spear in his hands as he lunged toward the Skakdi.
