Sorry my term for the color is out of date.
-
Thanks for the tip Ballom, I have just made a Flickr account and will be using that from now on instead of brickshelf.
-
And now I'm also disappointed because I managed to misspell the title of this entry. *facepalm*

There arent any dark blue CCBS pieces yet, except for one of the variants of skull spiders.
-
the piraka called him big daddy
I..I'm going to use that. That'll be his name for my rendition of him for BBCC #69. "Big Daddy Brutaka".

I'm pretty pumped as well, mostly because of how CCBS is being used in different ways, and like you said, the nostalgia factor. I'm looking forward to seeing how well some of these current entries will do. Some of the upcoming entries like yours, Paleo's and Roa's have me elated as well. Can't wait to see how your entry turns out, I'm sure it'll be great.

CCBS is absolutely not a requirement. Lord of Skull Spiders is maybe 30% CCBS at best. I imagine the same would apply to other Technic-intensive Rahi, while vehicles would almost certainly remain primarily Technic.
Plus, as far as colors go... not all the Toa use the same colors as their classic depictions, either. If it's true to the character and doesn't look totally inconsistent with the 2015 style, that should be enough.
Its kind of implied to be a requirement though, isn't it? I would think if an entry were to fit in with the 2015 sets, it would have to use some CCBS, right? Or am I just being a little close minded?

There's plenty of keetorange shells in lewa and PoJ. if you have either or both, its definitely feasible to make him, just with a lil more black/grey/silver/gunmetal, than the original.

I agree with the mounting on the shield, and even made a MOC of it, I am just worried that in a combat situation, a weapon would hit the missiles and would blow up the blaster and the shield.
-
If your entry looks anything like your mata redesigns, I can see you going far in the contest. My guess would be Vakama, since I think his mask would go well with CCBS parts. Even if its not Vakama I am very interested in what you can put together, as your MOCs always are aesthetically pleasing.

Can they be attached via stud or axle?
-
Thanks for the responses guys, I really appreciate it. The general consensus seems to message blacksix, which seems like the most solid route to take. I just hope ill at least be able to trade, as i am hard pressed to attend any events to actually receive one in person. Again, thanks for y'all's input.

That is a nice mask. Where would one acquire a flintsmith original ?

After they are connected, do the two pieces swing around, or are they fairly rigid?
Thanks! Yeah, the boomerangs are two pieces. They can be attached together with a basic Technic pin (or half-pin, but that wouldn't have much friction).A good figure that looks good while also managing to snag as many pieces as possible. The new Kakama looks great, and are the boomerangs made of 2 pieces?

I think its simple in that there is little to no custom anything, its mostly stock limbs and stuff. The torso is just an upside down ccbs wide torso.
