  1. Finally posted my entry to the Battle for the Gold Mask. Doubt I'll actually win, but I'm very pleased with how my entry turned out, and I hope other viewers like it too.

  2. Entry Name: Ka'arik, Bringer of Famine Main Pic: http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/117037/1415410261m_DISPLAY.jpg Gallery/MOCpage: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/400207 A bio for this bad boy is on the MOCpage. I'd also like to point out that the silver tubing on the scythe's handle is NOT cut or modified in any way. The black cape is from the Vezon and Fenrakk set, in case anyone was wondering if it was a piece of cloth from a T-shirt or something. This moc is mostly technic, with the only system parts being in the finger construction and the two chains roped around the scythe.
  3. It makes sense that the copper masks of victory don't actually function as kanohi. There isn't anything that says they were forged from kanoka discs, so they're probably just plates of metal pounded into mask shapes. If a matoran replaced his normal mask with a copper mask, he would eventually fall in to a coma or die, as if he weren't wearing a mask at all.
  4. I've got the photos of my moc ready to go, but I was wondering. Would a link to a Mocpages creation be an acceptable submission method?
  5. The Birds idea is a great one, but The Big Bang Theory idea?...eh... As a Zelda fan, I'd love to see that one get through, but I don't know if Nintendo would be willing to negotiate with TLG on that one. Nintendo is very VERY protective of its IPs after all.
  6. I think it looks promising. I'm eager to see where it goes, and what sort of adventures await us on Okoto. It seems like TLG is handling this reboot with alot of love and care, and I don't imagine they'll let us down. But, we'll see. We don't want to blindly accept it as the best thing to ever come out of Lego right away, but we also don't want to judge it through rose colored glasses which would keep us from enjoying it if it's actually really good.
  7. I'll be honest, I tried VNOG and wasn't a fan. I prefered the more point and click style of MNOG I.
  8. I'd be very happy if they came out early. I'd like to buy Tahu and maybe the Fire Protector for my best friend for his birthday. Now I just have to hope he doesn't see this...
  9. Yes please. I'd like it to be close to MNOG I more than II because I feel the first person point and click gameplay lended itself very well to the story telling. It was basically a big interactive visual novel, which I loved.
  10. I'm torn. On one hand, it would be a very nice nod to the Bionicle of old, but on the other hand, it would be (as Zippo mentioned) really expensive. Also, not getting that one mask I want would drive me mad.
  11. RIP in peace canisters. I like canisters alot, but they are hard to store. I already keep all my boxes and canisters take even more space. Anyways, I love the Bohrok canisters. Displaying each Bohrok in its dormant state was so cool.
  12. Macku, but I don't still have her. As mentioned by someone else, parents didn't approve. I was very young at the time. As far as sets that you actually buy from a store go, I got most of Vorahk's parts in a big pile of pieces I received after the series ended, as well as a few of the Vakhi. I got a sealed Tahnok from my best friend a few years ago, making it the only Bionicle set I ever got fresh out of a canister. It sits on my desk, curled up and hanging in its canister.
  13. I'm just hoping I can win them (Still have to enter that contest...), but I will buy them all if I don't.
  14. Very cool. I like the headdress, and the fact that there's so much purple.
  15. 2005. I have a hard time seeing any sort of major impact on the story it had. As far as I can tell, Sidorak could have never existed. 2010 had awful sets, but I feel like the ending it got was alright.I think it was as an acceptable closure in my opinion, if a bit rushed. If there was a fuller expounding upon what happened in the big final battle, it would have been a better ending. 2009 was kind of the same way, set wise and story wise. 2005 is the worst to me because of poor sets, jarring mood, and a story that seems to have little impact on the series as a whole.
  16. I like it. It seems like there's clearly defined sections of the planet which correspond to different elemental forces, which I think is a neat idea.
  17. Most Mindstorms parts fall into the technic category, as they involve pins, connectors, and beams, while using very few bricks and studs. Honestly, I'd be hesitant to use Mindstorms because this is a contest for building figures, not functional robots. Using Mindstorms might limit your ability to make an aesthetically pleasing figure. If you think you can make it work though, who am I to judge? Have at it.
  18. You have to post this in the entry topic. This topic is for discussion on the contest itself.
  19. The rules are if it's LEGO, and it's not modified (cut, painted, etc.) you can use it, but your moc has to be 75% Technic parts or more, and 25% System parts or less.
  20. The mask of fire is my favorite because it looks like the most faithful to the original mask upon which it is based, the Hau. It also looks very fierce and fitting for Tahu's appearance and personality. But I also really like the mask of stone. It looks like a Kakama while also giving it a distinct and modern flair.
  21. *sigh* Parents just don't understand...about Hyperthreading Technology.
  22. 1. Lewa. He's funny, he's cool, he has one of my favorite elemental powers, and seeing the situations he gets himself into is fun. Although he sorta seemed to be less derpy later on.The Miru is one of my favorite masks because I love the concept of levitation, and wish I could do it myself. Not sure why, but I've always like this guy over... 2. Kopaka. Just all around awesome. It's my firm belief that Kopaka is the most kickrear of the Toa Mata/Nuva. He froze a river with three Kurahk in it, held off six Rahkshi at once (and defeated two of them) while the other toa couldn't handle any of them, and he could easily best Tahu in a fight. Also, he has my favorite elemental power, Ice. 3. Tahu. What isn't there to like about Tahu? He's strong, he's heroic, he's hotheaded, and he's the face of the franchise! I don't know a single person who's a fan of Bionicle that doesn't like Tahu. Seriously, what mask comes to mind the most when you think of Bionicle? It's probably Tahu's red Hau. He's a good leader, he has pretty good character development (not as good as Vakama's though, I'll give you that), and he surfs on lava (instant cool points). This guy pretty much sweats coolness. If Bio-mechanical organisms can sweat. 4. Matoro. His sacrifice to save the world. That is all. Except not really. I liked Matoro even as a matoran. He always seemed like one of the better developed matoran on the island of Mata Nui, and I liked hearing what he had to say about certain things. As a toa I feel like his contributions to the missions of the toa Inika and the toa Mahri were game changing, and his ultimate sacrifice to save the world and give matoran-kind one last chance cemeted in my mind that this was a character I wouldn't forget about. 5. Takua/Takanuva. Really, I would say I actually like Takua more than Takanuva, mostly because of his roles in the Mask of Light and the Mata Nui Online Game, even if he was characterized completely differently between the two. I like Takua's calm and calculating demeanor, his knack for solving things on the fly, and his curiosity (ending of MNOG anyone?). 6. Jaller. I like Jaller for a similar reason to why I like Takua, and that's his role in the Mask of Light and the Mata Nui Online Game. In MNOG, Jaller kind of had a similar dispostion to Takua (or at least that's what I thought), and I could see why the two were often depicted as good friends in later animations and multimedia. As a toa, I feel like Jaller's mask while he was a toa Inika (the Calix) has a very cool power, and it's one of my favorite masks of that line if we're just talking about power (Matoro's is cooler as far as appearance goes imo).
  23. Puff is good again. Bionicle is coming back. Coincidence? Yeah, probably.
