  1. All the sets people have shown here, including the fanmade Dark Hunters, I still like them lol
  2. I'm pretty sure Lego in general is much less accessible in Latin America compared to the Anglosphere or Europe (high import tariffs and the like). Same reason Bionicle was never big among Middle Eastern kids either
  3. Really epic design and cool backstory! im always blown away by your work heh
  4. Pretty good design, haven't bought a Lego vehicle set in a very long time myself but I really miss Tiny Turbos and Lego Racers in general. It does look like a good synthesis between those and the vehicles you'd see in the older Lego City sets. Big enough to fit a minifig in there but still compact as a whole.
  5. Their cover of Poor Unfortunate Souls was really awesome tho
  6. I liked some of the prototype designs for the Phantoka Lewa and Tamna masks, because they kind of remind me of Halo Spartan helmets and it would've looked cool but maybe they didn't want to lean too far into that direction. But it would've made for some awesome MOCs. I also wish they released that black Skakdi head, that would've looked totally awesome on a figure, I can see it already
  7. On this note I always just assumed that Lego would settle on "gimmicks" or certain themes for the actual sets and then designed the toys and story around that in order to keep things fresh; Year 1 established the basic aesthetic of the biomechanical "tribal" Polynesian inspired beings on a tropical island (which itself conveniently had every kind of biome on it), around 2004 we go to a new "island" but this time its a highly advanced sci-fi city turned Orwellian dystopia, 2005 they bring out spiders just because, 2006 still stuck around the tropical island theme but now its an even more dangerous island with "gangster" villains and new young Toa, things get wayyy edgier than they already were (it was 2006 after all), 2007 we're now underwater and have sea creatures and villains inspired by sea creatures and aquatic Toa, 2008 we're up in the sky, Toa with jetpacks fighting flying bat and insect Makuta, 2009 we're on a totally new wasteland planet with a sword-and-sandals Greco-Roman type of vibe (Glatorian= Gladiator, duh), I believe they had plans for like dinosaurs or something afterwards as well. I think dino Bionicle would be very fitting for the brand. I like imagining where else it was gonna go had Bionicle lasted 20 years.
  8. That must've been equally hilarious and devastating at the same time.
  9. Bionicle lore is literally up there with actual mythology, Tolkien and religious theology. I ain't even joking
  10. they're so cute, i remember wanting those plushies when i saw them playing MNOG for the first time
  11. Tahu and his Hau are basically the symbol of the entire Bionicle brand/mythos IMO. also nice username
  12. This MOC I made, who I have named Mincer, is a deadly Dark Hunter. He is a heavily modified being of an unknown species. Because of his appearance and personality, many have believed him to be some kind of robot rather than a biomechanical sapient being, but this is actually not the case. Even the Shadowed One assumed the former when he first met Mincer. Mincer has chrome colored Protosteel armor, a pincer claw, and a spinning saw blade. He has three insectoid like legs which can crawl across most surfaces and a single red cyclopean eye which can shoot laser blasts. He can easily shred his prey to pieces and his strange and intimidating appearance is enough to send many into a fearful shock. Took a while to get his basic build down, did a lot of experimenting with the pieces. I really wanted to do a figure with tripod legs, with sharp points for the "feet", and I wanted to use the buzzsaw piece for a MOC too so I gave it to him. He originally had a shoulder gun as well, but it kinda weighed him down too much so sadly I took it off. The saw can spin perfectly and his upper torso (or his 3 legs, however you see it) can spin a perfect 360 degrees.

  14. Nakahi is a strange creature who hails from somewhere near the Southern Continent. It is believed she was an "accidental" creation of the Brotherhood of Makuta but it is not certain. She appears to be some kind of special Rahkshi hybrid mixed with another species. She has the ability to control the Green (plantlife), and also wields deadly acid or swamp powers. She has venomous claws and a stinging tail that she can also use to channel her powers, and has the ability to camouflage and turn invisible. She is a very ruthless opponent with heightened stealth, agility and sense of smell, more akin to a Rahi then any known sapient species, and can crawl on any surface. She has entered into a deadly but fragile trio with Gelorah the Vortixx and Trokka the Skakdi. Taciturn compared to her more talkative or boastful partners, she prefers to communicate via hisses or snarls despite being perfectly capable of regular speech and has been known to even toy with her prey.
  15. The newer fan animations/stop motions at least since the late 2010s have been very high quality, much better than anything that came before, even if the community feels somewhat smaller now. Great picks. And Vrahno will always be a total legend, back then and now
  16. When I was at my mother's house a while back I was getting a bunch of old stuff from her attic that had been up there for at least a decade, (including tubs of Bionicle pieces) and also grabbed one of my most favorite books as a kid, the Updated Bionicle Encyclopedia from 2007. I remember I found it by chance at my local Barnes & Noble in like 2009 or 2010, and it was like my Bible. Seriously, I'd just read it over and over again and get lost in it. The way it's written in such a straight or simple but encyclopedic matter (duh) makes it seem like you just uncovered some lost tome of ancient esoteric lore from another dimension. I'd get so lost in it for hours. Unironically Tolkien-esque. And it had a big impact on my own love for writing, worldbuilding and artistry. Of course at this time I didn't even know about BioSector01 or any thing like that, but I'll always treasure this book in my heart. As you can see, its pretty damaged from lots of use over the years, and many pages are actually ripped or loose from the gauze strip but every page is still there in its proper spot lol
  17. Big Bizness by Three Six Mafia (Mystic Stylez)
  18. I personally wasn't the biggest fan of the Legend Reborns art style (or the Glatorian/Agori designs in general, specifically the heads/faces), but at the very least, they did make the characters look way closer to the actual toys. Don't get me wrong, i still think 2009 was a pretty decent year
  19. That is incredible! the way you use the pieces in such unique ways is truly inspirational
  20. I changed my Makuta Moc named Sinitrax, I posted him on here some days ago, but I decided to change him up a bit. Nothing too dramatic. This is him now. I changed his head, and gave him Bitil style wings and extra limbs to make him more "insectoid" like. So it combines the insect or buggoid features of the Mistika Makuta with that of the bat-like Makuta (Icarax, Mutran, Phantoka makuta). I dismantled another MOC I had, and used the same head which I thought had kind of a bug vibe with the eyes and crest, of course I will reuse those pieces from the other MOC for a new creation.
  21. I think whatever the story decides to limit. The "visions" and prophecy type of stuff is just part of the mystical mumbo-jumbo that was important to the aesthetic and atmosphere of OG Bionicle. Even though 2004 basically leaped Bionicle into a more sci-fi type of setting stuff like visions and the quasi-religious element of it all was just part of what made Bionicle unique in the juxtaposition of spiritual/magical or "tribal" themes with the advanced biomechanical cyborgs. At least I think that's what the writers were just trying to do. Bionicle at that point was still all "mysterious" and we didn't know much.
