You know, through most of this whole thing, I really wasn't sure which side to take. I can understand some points from both sides of the debate, and was hoping it would just kind of die down, but if anything it's just getting harder and harder to avoid, so I kept thinking about it and well...

See, fan canon is a neat thing. But with Generation 1 (long) over, nothing that gets canonized at this point has any chance to affect official material. Really, all this new stuff can affect is people who want to make a story or MoC or what have you and not necessarily defy canon, limiting what options they have. Personally I do like to have things defined, but beyond a certain point I can see how it can feel too restricted.

I like that we have Elements for all the Mangai and could probably go either way on their Kanohi, but if you're talking about weapons I can't agree. I think no matter what you come up with it'll seem uninspired/generic, partially because it's going to have to compete with oversized swords that can combine into a flying surfboard for no apparent reason. Also "barbed broadsword", which maximizes alliterative appeal with minimal effort and provides a neat image. Heck even Nidhiki's scythe is unique enough with how few scythes there are in Bionicle.

Anyway, what was I saying? Oh, right, anything at this point is only going to affect art-makers who want to follow "The Rules", and I can see why they may not want to have semi-random rules imposed on them this late in the game.

There are still Legendaries and Mega Stones to hunt down in Omega Ruby, but what remains will have to wait, I’m afraid. Today is the release of…hold on a second, ahem…Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 ReMIX. (Phew.) This game contains the previously Japan-exclusive Final Mix versions of Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, as well as a theatre mode summarizing Re:coded (which IMO is the least important game thus far), all on one PS3 disc. Oh, Finals Week, you never had a chance…

I did enjoy I.5, but I think I’m going to love II.5 even more. See, I.5 contains the Final Mix of the original Kingdom Hearts, the remake of Chain of Memories, and a theatre mode summarizing 358/2 Days. I started into the series by playing CoM a little after it came out, and then went back and played the original. All of the games in II.5, I can remember waiting for the release of: KHII was a belated birthday present and the first game in the series I was able to experience right as it came out; BBS was something I pre-ordered as soon as I could, eagerly awaiting the backstory it promised us; and Re:coded, well…that I picked up mainly out of obligation, but it was unexpectedly fun to play. Replaying II and BBS, now improved and in HD (if I can steal the living room TV from my Dad), is going to be a lovely, beautiful trip down memory lane.

At the launch event for Kingdom Hearts II.5, new footage of Kingdom Hearts III was shown. No recording was allowed, and the trailer will be put online at some point soon (at which point I'll probably post it here), but news sources are giving us some key points.

This obviously contains huge spoilers, since it covers the part of the game that wasn’t in the original Ruby and Sapphire. You have been warned.

These updates might start getting more sparse now. However, once I get my Secret Base looking presentable, I'll post the QR code so you can all visit.

The halls leading into the Pokémon League are beautiful…but also frightening. It was almost as if Omega and his team were descending into the underworld in their quest to show their true power. After the last of the Elite Four, Drake, king of Dragons, was defeated, one final hallway opened and led to a doorway emanating heavenly light, beyond which waited…Steven?

Omega was a bit surprised to discover that Steven was the Champion. Looking back, however, it did explain a lot. Now meeting as equals, Omega and Steven sent their Pokémon into battle, willing to give their all. Steven’s Pokémon were much stronger than those of the Elite Four, making the fight incredibly grueling. However, Omega and his Pokémon fought on, knocking out Steven’s team one at a time, somehow avoiding any casualties of their own. Metagross made sure to enter the fight, showing Steven how far they had come with Omega. In the end, Steven sent out his own Mega Metagross, and Omega sent Primal Groudon to meet it head-on. The opponent attacked with its full force, but at the moment of truth, Groudon unleashed one decisive Precipice Blade…and Steven’s final Pokémon was defeated.

With much excitement, Omega and his team were led into the Hall of Fame and officially named Champions of the Hoenn Region. They headed back to Littleroot Town with May, fighting her again at her request. Upon defeating her, they parted ways, and Omega went home for some well-deserved rest.

Our heroes have reached their goals. The world is safe, and they have proven their might. Something ominous looms on the horizon, but for now, let us leave them to their peaceful sleep…

    TEAM PROFILE: Omega the Human
TITLES: The Player Character, Wielder of Mega Evolution, Tamer of Groudon, Master of Gyms, Champion of the Hoenn Region
A boy from Litteroot Town who went on to save the world. Omega has found a firm sense of self in his travels and trials with his Pokémon, and now knows exactly who he is. He loves Pokémon, loves battling, and will always do whatever he can, whatever is right, whatever his Pokémon will follow him into. Luckily, his Pokémon trust him as much as he trusts them, so they will continue to inspire each other to greater and greater heights. The sky is the limit…and they will surpass even that!

TEAM PROFILE: Gadunka the Mega Swampert
TITLES: The Starter, The Meme, Gym Slayer, The Kaiju, Braver of the Core, Elite Slayer, Champion Slayer, Hall of Fame Member
Omega’s very first Pokémon, she has been right by his side through thick and thin. Her Mega Evolution might put a focus on raw power, but Gadunka is actually very intelligent and sociable, able to make friends with anyone and find just the right way to take down her enemies. She is a truly fearless Pokémon…though, after that business in Hoenn’s Core, she does have a slight aversion to hot climates.

    TEAM PROFILE: Mega Metagross
TITLES: The Shiny Psuedo-Legend, The Other Starter, Chief Recruiting Officer, Gym Slayer, The Superweapon, Elite Slayer, The Champion’s Gift, Champion Slayer, Hall of Fame Member
An extremely rare Pokémon Steven gave to Omega. Metagross may have been a bit wary at first, but they quickly warmed up to the Trainer and his team and now think of them as younger siblings. Metagross is always watching over their friends, and always ready to recruit new friends, helping ease their worries by telling of their own history with Omega. They still have the utmost respect for Steven, but in Metagross’s mind, it is clear that Omega is their trainer.

    TEAM PROFILE: Falzar the Shiftry
TITLES: The Dreamer, Gym Slayer, The Tengu, Elite Slayer, Hall of Fame Member
A Pokémon with a bashful nature that hides fierce determination and near limitless energy. Since becoming a Shiftry, Falzar seems to have embraced her Dark type a little more, and has been playing tricks and holding grudges more lately. However, her passion is still friendly sparring matches with the other members of her team, learning how they fight so that she can know how to compliment them should they enter battle together. Falzar has calmed down a bit and sits back a bit more, but she is always ready to jump in at a moment’s notice.

    TEAM PROFILE: Armstrong the Hariyama
TITLE: The Muscle, Gym Slayer, Wall Armstrong, Elite Slayer, Champion Slayer, Hall of Fame Member
An enthusiastic Pokémon whose fighting technique has been passed down his family for GENERATIONS…maybe. Armstrong charges on relentlessly, shrugging off even the worst of hits to deliver crushing blows to his enemies. He is willing to lead the way for his team, because he knows that they will always be watching his back.

TEAM PROFILE: Cygnus the Mega Altaria
TITLE: The Successor of Icarus, Gym Slayer, The Shining Star Cloud, Elite Slayer, Hall of Fame Member
A Pokémon who loves to dance even more than she loves to fight. She’ll occasionally join in sparring matches with the team, but she prefers to give them dance lessons, and has become a very important calming voice amongst the team. She always has a way to soothe the other’s fears, and always encourages them to embrace their creativity without fear.

    TEAM PROFILE: Primal Groudon
TITLE: The Legend, The Kaiju, Gym Slayer, Elite Slayer, Avatar of the Land, Champion Slayer, Hall of Fame Member
A super-ancient Pokémon imbued with the power of the land. Through intensive training in Victory Road, Groudon has learned to control their Primal Regression with the help of Omega and the team. They may not have been a member of the team for very long, but they have quickly formed a strong bond of trust with the trainer and Pokémon who were willing to forgive their berserk actions. Groudon will not hesitate to use every last ounce of its legendary power to help its friends.

    TEAM PROFILE: Icarus the Swellow
    TITLE: The Doomed, The Retired
A Tailow who encountered Omega early in his journey. He was with the team for a short time, during which he more than proved his worth, but still ended up retiring to give Cygnus his spot on the active team. Icarus has taken to keeping the PC in order, watching over the other boxed Pokémon like they were his own family. When he meets with his previous comrades, it’s like no time has passed—they remain great friends, and his efforts have never been forgotten.

    TEAM PROFILE: Latios
    TITLES: The Legend, The Supersonic
A Legendary Pokémon who joined with Omega but didn’t fight in that many battles. He tended to stay back and watch the team’s efforts, though was essential in Diving into the Seafloor Cavern and Sootopolis City. These days, he pokes around in the PC and flies Omega around the region whenever he hears the Eon Flute, and just generally finds ways to enjoy himself.

From Mauville, Omega headed to the cable car and rode to the top of Mt. Chimney, where he found Team Aqua and Team Magma engaged in battle. He found and defeated Maxie, but the Team Magma leader then decided to hand over the meteorite and leave. Um…okay? Then he went to Lavaridge Town, where he rode his bike in the hot springs (seriously, you can do this, it’s great) and defeated Flannery thanks to Gadunka.

After that, May took us right back to Petalburg, where Omega defeated his father in battle using only Armstrong. It was a great accomplishment that helped Omega to feel that he had become his own person free from his father’s shadow. Then we met Wally, who took us to Mauville, and went in the general direction of Fortree City.

Before we made it, though, we encountered Steven again, as well as the Legendary Pokémon Latias. Latias took us to see Latios, who was under attack by Team Magma. Omega repelled them, prompting Latios to join his team and Steven to give him a Mega Bracelet. Mega Evolution is now possible! But, Latios probably won’t stay on the team…

Team Magma also messed things up at the Weather Institute, but Omega dealt with them pretty easily there as well. He learned that Team Magma seemed to be after the power of an ancient Pokémon named Groudon, which used something called Primal Reversion…sounds cool. Anyway, we then got the Devon Scope, caught a Keckleon, and defeated Winona thanks to Gadunka knowing Rock Slide.

After that, Omega made it to Lilycove City to defeat May and get Altarianite. Along the way, DexNav helped him catch a wild Absol with a Life Orb(?!), which was rather unexpected. Anyway, looks like Team Magma is still up to something, now at Mt. Pyre. That group of thugs is really starting to get on Omega’s nerves, and now he’s confident that he has the power to stop their nefarious deeds. And, hey, if he has the power, he sees no reason not to use it.

Ah, Evolutions, let’s see…Gadunka is now a (Mega) Swampert, Falzar is now a Shiftry, and Cygnus is now a (Mega) Altaria. All I’m waiting for is Metang to evolve so I can use Shiny Mega Metagross, and then Primal Groudon. I can’t wait!

NEW TITLE AQUISTIONS: For Omega, “Bearer of the Heat Badge”, “Bearer of the Balance Badge”, “Bearer of the Feather Badge”, “Wielder of Mega Evolution”; For Gadunka, “The Kaiju”; For Falzar, “The Tengu”; For Armstrong, “Gym Slayer”

Omega made his way to Mt. Pyre, discovering it to be a place where dead Pokémon are laid to rest. For Team Magma to siege such a place…unforgiveable! He made his way to the summit, but was too late: Maxie stole the Red Orb and escaped while Omega battled Courtney. The elders gave Omega the Blue Orb so that he may have a means of countering the Red Orb. He then set off for Slateport, where he failed to stop Team Magma from stealing the newly-made submarine, then back to Lilycove to invade Team Magma’s “secret” hideout.

It was a confusing path through warp panels, but Omega ventured forth. Deep within the base he discovered the Master Ball, something he knew he could not leave in the hands of such villains, so he took it and went onward. Five grunts battled him at once, but one Surf from Mega Gadunka was more than enough to take them out. Unfortunately, Maxie escaped yet again…this is getting ridiculous.

Omega next went to Mossdeep City, where he hoped the Gym Leaders would know of some way to help him. After defeating them with the duo of Falzar and Cygnus (Metang evolving into Metagross somewhere along the way), a massive pillar of light shot into the sky out of the sea, and Steven told Omega that this was bad news. After receiving Dive, Omega went to the Seafloor Cavern to discover the super-ancient Pokémon…Groudon. Maxie fought Omega with the power of Mega Evolution, but though Omega defeated him, he still was able to use the Red Orb to awaken Groudon and send them on a rampage.

The sun in the sky blazed. It was clear that if something was not done, the immense heat would raze the entire world. Omega, Maxie, Archie, and Steven all headed to Sootopolis City, home of the Cave of Origin which was said to contain a substance that would allow Groudon to achieve Primal Regression. Using the Magma Suit and the Blue Orb, Omega and his Pokémon were able to chase Groudon down to the deepest level, a place Gym Leader Wallace called Hoenn’s Core. There, Groudon reverted to their Primal state, and prepared to bring about the end of the world.

Omega and his Pokémon knew that they could not run. No matter how dangerous this might be, they knew that they had the power to stop it, and if they passed up that chance they would never be able to live with themselves. Gadunka Mega Evolved and launched into battle with Primal Groudon…and yet, Omega found he could not ask his starter to defeat the Legendary Pokémon. The entire way here, Groudon seemed confused, as if they were not in their right mind. Perhaps the Red Orb had transferred some of Maxie’s crazed zeal into them, and that combined with the grogginess of being asleep for thousands of years awakened them improperly, forcing them to go berserk against their will. It might be a risk to the world, but…Omega could not bring himself to defeat a Pokémon who seemed so lost in their own mind.

The battle only grew more ferocious. It was no easy task to keep Gadunka from falling before the awesome might of Primal Regression. Omega felt he must keep the Master Ball for something else (a strange feeling he can not explain), so he threw Ultra Ball after Ultra Ball at the Pokémon, watching as they all burst apart and were melted to slag. Just when he was about to give up hope, the unthinkable happened…it worked. An Ultra Ball locked firmly, Primal Groudon inside it. As the Poke Ball teleported to the PC, Omega breathed a sigh of relief.

    TEAM PROFILE: Primal Groudon
TITLE: The Legend, The Kaiju, Gym Slayer
A super-ancient Pokémon with the power to call down blazing sunlight and expand the land. Once their senses returned and they realized the danger they had posed, they regretted their actions and determined to learn how to better control their Primal power. The team has welcomed them with open arms—Gadunka in particular loves to spar with them in clashes of Primal vs Mega that might cause a little too much collateral damage. Groudon has accepted Omega and the team as their own family, and trusts them to watch over them should Primal Regression overwhelm them.

There was little time to relax, however. Energy spewed upward from the Cave of Origin, bathing the entire region in dazzling light and forcing Omega to quickly escape. Once safely outside, he was congratulated on his efforts and given the Red Orb, being told that, with the Blue Orb to counteract it, he may be able to control Primal Groudon in short bursts. Steven also granted Omega the Eon Flute, allowing him to call Latios to his side whenever needed to soar through the sky. After a short rest, Omega tried this and discovered a Pokémon named Uxie, another difficult capture that he was eventually able to pull off. That was enough catching for one day, he thought. Back to Sootopolis.

Withdrawing Groudon from the PC, Omega experimented with Primal Regression in Sootopolis’s Gym. And, guess what? Having a Pokémon with a 770 base stat total and an ability that renders all Water moves null and void in a Water Gym makes said Water Gym and absolute breeze. Groudon did not suffer a single point of damage as they obliterate Wallace’s Pokémon. When all was said and done, the Gym Leader congratulated Omega, gave him the HM for Waterfall, and informed him that Professor Birch had perfected a new Pokedex. Omega paid the Professor a visit and received the National Pokedex, and then decided to take a nice rest before starting the next phase of his journey.

Omega doesn’t really consider himself a hero: he and his team just did what was in their power, what was right. Now the world is safe, and he can continue to enjoy spending time with his Pokémon. And the best way to do that would seem to be…challenging the Pokémon League, perhaps?

NEW TITLE AQUISTIONS: For Omega, “Tamer of Groudon”, “Master of Gyms”; For Gadunka, “Braver of the Core”; For Metagross, “The Superweapon”; For Falzar, “Gym Slayer”; For Cygnus, “Gym Slayer”, "The Shining Star Cloud"; For Armstrong, "The Mighty Wall"

Well, I got distracted by awesome games and didn't watch the new episode of Korra until just now, and I have to say...something...I just can't figure out what to say because I'm currently convinced I'm trapped in some alternate gag universe and need to escape to see the real episode.

I don't mean to sound obnoxious, but...man. For starters, when you have seven episodes left before the end of the entire series, why would you stop and take a whole episode just for flashbacks? It doesn't help that the first third of it is all about Mako and that agonizing love triangle no one actually likes. Granted, the characters breaking in with chibi portraits to call him out was funny, but I feel like we could've gotten that without wasting time on flashbacks.

The second part felt completely unnecessary, and Korra deciding to stop worrying and just fight on seemed awfully sudden to me, plus I think Doppelganger Super Korra should have made at least a tiny appearance if nothing else.

And then we get to the third and, I think, greatest part of the episode, which is Varrick rewriting the entire plot as a cheesy mover that I totally was not thinking I would love to go see. Genius as this whole bit is, the edits to the re-used animation were really, really obvious, and the minimal effort turns the grand ridiculousness into something less entertaining than it could've been.

So I mean there were parts where I was laughing hysterically, but I can't shake the feeling that it's a missed opportunity. I'm sure the team has their reasons for doing the episode this way--I just need to complain a little so I can let go of the negativity by the (hopefully) new episode next week.

And no I'm not using spoiler tags, it's a flashback episode, there's no point.

As you may or may not know, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are releasing this Friday! I have Omega Ruby all paid off, and once I pick it up (which I may or may not do at a midnight event) I’ll probably start shirking all my responsibilities to blast through it. However, I thought that this time I’d try to keep a constant log on my progress, and maybe expand my character/team outside of what’s given in the plot because I’m a nerd.

And yes, that title is absolutely necessary.

Once ORAS is out, I’ll try to type an entry daily. I make no promises though. I already have a team in mind, but I guess I won’t know for sure what they’ll be like until we start traveling together. Either way, I look forward to meeting them and exploring the Hoenn region!

And, to get things started off, our first Team Profile.

    ***

    TEAM PROFILE: Omega the Human
    TITLE: The Player Character
Our Player Character, a boy from Littleroot Town ready to set out across the Hoenn region! As of yet, he hasn’t quite found a real sense of identity, and hopes that this journey will help him discover who he is.
  10. Pahrak Model ZX
On a more positive note, I received an email from GameStop reminding me that Super Smash Bros is releasing on Friday. It mentioned a few of the playable fighters, including "Greeninja." At first I thought "Oh, it's a typo, they mean Greninja," but then I wondered...what if it isn't a typo?! Could this be a leaked announcement of a new fighter?!

Now, most of you are probably thinking of Ninjago, but no, this is much more surprising. You know who else has a Green Ninja?

STAR FORCE MEGA MAN CONFIRMED FOR SMASH BROS

CONGRATULATIONS GEO YOU MADE IT AFTER ALL
  11. Pahrak Model ZX
So it's been announced that ORAS will have a new story thing called "The Delta Episode". A meteor is on course to collide with the planet, so the protagonist has to stop it.

It seems their method of doing so involves putting on a space suit, riding Rayquaza as it Mega Evolves and shoots into the upper atmosphere, and battling Deoxys.

You get to ride Mega Rayquaza into space to fight Deoxys.

    I...I just have no words...

Pokemon fans may remember #493. Arceus, the creator of the Pokemon universe. (Or maybe just Sinnoh. And Ransei.) Being a promotion-only Mythical Pokemon, its availability is obviously rather scarce, but there's a unique aspect to Arceus's story: the Azure Flute. (It looks a lot like the Ocarina of Time actually, hence the entry title.)

So, if you go through the data for Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, you'll find this item called Azure Flute that was intended to be distributed to players at some point. When you go to Spear Pillar with the Flute in your possession, you will be prompted to play it, and if you select Yes (and why wouldn't you I mean come on), you will summon a glass staircase leading to the Hall of Origin, where you can battle and catch Arceus.

Thing is, the Azure Flute was never released. Arceus itself was distributed later on, but the Flute can only be obtained by using cheat devices. (Which I totally did not do...for real.) Fans aware of this have always wondered why the Flute was never made available, and I just discovered that, in an interview last year, Masuda addressed the matter. He said that while the Flute was their original plan, they changed their mind later on because it would be too confusing for players to use.

...Which is complete nonsense. All you do is go to Spear Pillar. As soon as you set foot there, it automatically prompts you to play the Flute. There's nothing confusing about it, not so long as you can make it to Spear Pillar (which you're required to do in the story anyway) and press a button (which I'm pretty sure is required at least once to complete the game?).

On one hand I'm glad the matter has been addressed formally, but this explanation does not satisfy me. Well, maybe in the 2017 Sinnoh remakes they'll finally distribute an Azure Flute and I can use it without feeling that tinge of guilt...

Oh, and apparently right now Cartoon Network is doing a marathon of Hoenn episodes leading up to the premiere of the Diancie movie this afternoon, so you can check that out if you want.
  13. Pahrak Model ZX
When I went to Japanese class today, I discovered that one of my classmates had made some (delicious) curry bread to share with us, which led to another classmate deciding that we should all take turns bringing in Japanese dishes for the remainder of the semester. I have about a month to figure out what to bring.

To be clear, my Cooking skill is currently set to level 0 with maybe 10 EXP invested in it.

I think this should be enough time, though, and I really do want to learn how to make stuff. This should be a good motivator. Now I just need to figure out what it is I am going to attempt...I think it should be on the simpler side, since I'm new to this, and hopefully not too expensive. My teacher gave us a website with a lot of Japanese recipes, and I ended up looking through the bento box recipes because I thought those might be easy-ish.

Well, to be more specific, I looked at the charaben, which are boxes where the food is arranged to resemble characters. There were like five different Pikachu boxes and they all look fantastic.

...But, I mean, that's probably a little too complicated, I should start with something easier.

...But, that Eevee box looks really cute, and I could put a different food in each box corresponding to a different evolution method...

Of course I'm really getting ahead of myself considering I still don't know where to even buy seaweed.

Ah, if only I could have one of those "Character X learns to cook!" episodes, even if lots of things go wrong I would end up with something great in the end, and senpai would finally notice me...

OH NO THE IDEA OF BOHROK ONIGIRI JUST CAME TO ME NO WHY
  14. Pahrak Model ZX
For all the ridiculous nonsense in Kingdom Hears, it strikes me that people don't talk about Space Paranoids that much.

I mean the simple fact that a game in 05/06 used Tron, from 1982, as a world is weird enough, not to mention that it's a world inside a world, but when you get there, Tron says that it is a copy of the original.

Think about that for a minute. Ansem the Wise got onto ENCOM's servers (apparently in the early 80s), saw the Tron world there, and then decided to just copy-paste the entire thing into the Radiant Garden computer system.

And then nobody even knew it was there, had any interaction with it, or tried to update it at all for at least eleven years, maybe more.

Then Goofy, Donald Duck, and an anime kid with a giant key just show up and become Tron's best friends and ram Light Cycles into Heartless.

Why don't we talk more about this?
  15. Pahrak Model ZX
Today my teacher was telling us about how the Japanese eat sea cucumbers. It came up because a sea cucumber dish was used on a worksheet we were doing, you see we were practicing a new grammar where yadda yadda never mind.

One of my classmates (surprisingly it was not me) said that sea cucumbers just made her think of Spongebob, particularly the one episode with a sea cucumber who was a jerk.

I'm probably paraphrasing a bit, but my teacher's response to hearing about this jerk of a sea cucumber was "Well, we can eat him."

I feel like things escalated very quickly there but I'm okay with it.
  16. Pahrak Model ZX
Mahou Shoujo Mega Man was the only display name option that more than one person said I should go with, so here I am! I also changed my blog title to fit with the name, plus I was beginning to feel like the old one was too "pretentious 12-year-old"-y.

I don't need to change my avatar though, it actually fits better now. In case anyone's still not aware, I got the name from the Mega Man Star Force series, which is basically a magical girl series and totally awesome you should all play it now. At least the first game.

So yeah. When the name expires I'll probably go back to the list, but for now, in the name of the moon, Wave Battle! Ride On!
  17. Pahrak Model ZX
If the title doesn’t make sense don’t worry.

So, I can change my name again, and I have a few ideas but I’m not really sure what to go with. Since the cool kids always make blog entries about this sort of thing, I figured I would copy them and see if anyone has an opinion or however this works.

    Ideas so far:
-Pahrak #0579 (It stuck really well, I might go back to it)
-Pahrak Va #0579 (With a Scouting Legion avatar because the Bohrok Va are scouts I’m sorry it seemed funny at the time)
-Greninja #0579 (I kinda miss this one too)
-Cyberman #0579 (I like Cybermen okay)
-Name Change #0579 (No I still haven’t forgotten that)
-Master Pahrak (To go with the reboot and everything)
-Professor O’Pahrak (A while ago on Tumblr I got into a discussion about my middle name, O’Patrick, and someone combined it with my URL to create that. Tumblr URLs can’t have apostrophes though, but I still like this and sort of want to use it?)
-Mega Pahrak (I love Mega Evolution SO MUCH)
-Pahrak III.7 HD ReMIX (I feel like there should be a Kingdom Hearts reference on here somewhere)
-Super Smash Bohrok (Oh why not)
-Mahou Shoujo Mega Man (I still love the sound of it)
-Onepu Nuva (This was a name I used way, WAY back in the day, and I have now repurposed it to be a nickname for Protector of Earth; most likely will come with blog title “A Place That is Totally Not Onu-Koro”)
-Lab Member 0579: Pahrak (It took me a while but I thought of a Steins;Gate reference woo)

I might think of more later, if I do I might edit it. And if you have suggestions I guess you can give those?

This entry is about two things. First, a new miniseries of short webisodes of Steins;Gate has begun out of the blue. This is good news. What makes it absolutely hilarious is that it's sponsored by IBM. The 3-minute episode out now is a brief cooking adventure with a mecha Upa with adaptive AI, so there's no way this is canon, but I learned that if our robot overlords are all going to be Upas then I might be okay with it. That was not something I had considered before.

(No the episode does not involve the Upa becoming a robot overlord I just have a fear of the robot apocalypse, the episode itself is hugely lighthearted (especially for all the What Could Go Wrong Potential in Steins;Gate) and just serves to remind us why we love these dorks...and to be a commercial for IBM, but, you know.)

Second, the new episode of Korra, because my gosh

So yeah Book 4 is looking good so far.

First things first: there is currently a distribution to receive a shiny Mega Gengar in the US (GameStop) and Canada (EB Games). You need to enter the store and ask the employees about it; they'll give you a card with a scratch-off code, which you can then redeem using the code option on Mystery Gift. This is the first time I've used this method, and it's kinda neat, but I prefer the wireless method that allows me to get my Pokemon without interacting with people ahahaha

Also very important: We finally know how we're getting the ORAS demo in the US! If you're part of the Pokemon Trainer Club and have signed up for newsletters, the October 21st newsletter with give you a code to download the demo.

Related to that, the demo unveils two new Mega Evolutions! Mega Glalie is an absolutely terrifying oni mask thing with a gaping maw, pure Ice type, has the ability Refrigerate. Mega Steelix appears to have Mega Stones growing out of its body like spikes and has some kind of ring of energy around its head, same typing, Sand Force ability. And with Mega Steelix, we have our first new Gen 2 Mega in ORAS, meaning ORAS introduces new Megas for every single Generation!

Also Mega Rayquaza. It looks really cool. I was wondering if it was going to get a Mega or a Primal; it's tied to new lore, and appears to Mega Evolve in a unique fashion, so it'll be interesting to see if this is reflected in gameplay. Also, Mega Rayquaza is going to be joining the two Mega Mewtwos in that Highest Base State Total tie. If we keep getting more 780 stat Pokemon, then maybe we really will be getting 820 Mega Arceus...

Have we mentioned Mega Pidgeot or Mega Beedrill? Kind of neat that they're Mega-ing more Gen 1 Pokemon a lot of us started with, but I don't know that I really have much to say about either of them. Mega Pidgeot has neat hair. Mega Beedrill is, um...uh...I don't know, I got nothing.

    IT'S A REBOOT PRAISE JESUS

The childishness seems to bug a lot of people, even though Bionicle's a toyline?? Selling toys to kids?? Honestly as much as I love dark stuff I'm totally onboard for this, I have a history of just taking whatever Bionicle gives me and I could use some more simple positivity in my life, it will be healing.

Also a lot of people really want romance to be canon in the reboot, why?? Why does this matter so much to everyone?? I know I'm a bitter loner but that can't be the only reason I'm fine with the ban.

Okoto has a nice ring to it but someone pointed out it sounds like the Japanese word "otoko" and now I keep confusing them my Japanese grade is going to suffer Lego why.

Absolutely love the new lore, so many questions, must wait.

Seems like the Toa's Elemental powers might come from their masks, fits with the theme but I do wonder about them having no innate powers, ah well I'll adapt.

Sets that come WITH the Golden Masks! And Skull Spiders that they can wear like Krana!

GeARS?! AND posABILITY?! AT the same TIME?!

Tahu and Kopaka look simply beautiful, the high price will be worth it. Onepu Nuva Protector of Earth might actually be the best looking set of the bunch, and at such a low price, it's definitely a must-buy. I'm also really liking Gali (and if the bad joke thing turns out to be puns then WOO).

I sort of want all the Toa, but the other three, I think I can be more patient about. If there's one thing I'm disappointed about it's Pohatu's build, he looks boring compared to the others, but he's Pohatu so I still want him, also he has BOOMERANGS with BOHROK EYES that double as FOOT JETS. Lewa's pretty cool, I'm slow to adjust to his mask though. Onua has too many colors and seems a little messy, but he's growing on me, he's SO FREAKING HUGE I LOVE IT. (Why couldn't Pohatu be huge too Pohatu I love you.)

The Protectors all look pretty good, but I don't think I'll really need more than one or two. As stated before Onepu Nuva is must buy, and I'm really liking New Tarduk Protector of Jungle so he might find his way into the shopping cart, others I might get if I have cash, who knows.

Also COMBINERS! Well, that was my initial reaction, but it's really just taking the Protector's weapons and putting them on the Toa. It's cool, yeah, but I was hoping for more, ah well that's what we have S Rank MoCers for, I LEAVE THIS TASK TO THEE.

Wait I forgot Lord of Skull Spiders...eh? I mean it's neat but it's just spidery enough to make me anxious, so I don't think I can buy it, sorry. As for story it apparently guards an ancient city, that seems cool, the concept art appears to suggest it will fight all the Toa (or maybe there are more than one of these? In every region? Serving a greater villain...?), guess we'll find out.

    So yeah Pahrak is happy.

Okay forget my previous vaguely sad post because I just got the mail and

My excited flailing is irritating Christina, I don't know why because she's about to become an awesome Mii Fighter, anyway goodbye I'll see you all in November

I've been trying to make a certain appointment since this semester began, but I have never been able to find the time (or remember it when I do have time). Last night I felt it was incredibly urgent that I resolve this, so I skipped class today to see if I could get in.

Everyone I could see is busy all day today, and for the rest of the week.

On one hand I feel like this is hilarious.

On the other, I fear for my sanity and feel like some unknown forces in the universe are conspiring against me.

    College life.

(It's worse because I only get my work schedule one week at a time, so I won't be able to try for next week until the schedule goes up, which could be as early as Wednesday or as late as Saturday. God help me.)
