EST.The contest winner and final voting results will be posted in a separate thread on August 6th.---------------------------------------------------------BZP Rules and Guidelines---------------------------------------------------------1. rsz_entry_picture.jpg_thumb.jpg >>> 5:1 scale Tahu's Fire Sword2. entrypic.png_thumb.jpg >>> Wandering Flame3. entry_picture.jpg_thumb.jpg >>> Dark hunter Pyraxx4. bbcc63entry.png_thumb.jpg >>> Pyrocitor5. bbcc_63.png_thumb.jpg >>> Ta-Metru Furnace Guardian6. entry.jpg_thumb.jpg >>> Bokoch, Infernal Lord7. 7382970190_80c1dc9714_t.jpg >>> Hollow Flame

  2. I presume there as some restricions as to how feiry it has to be, correct? Could we make things such as an ice guy that was on fire, or a fire breathing dog?
The ice guy, absolutely not. The fire dog, probably.
I am decidedly torn- it looks like BrickFair is close enough that I could ship my entry to it(circa 132 miles or thereabouts), but I have no idea how to go about that process, even if I could get a clear and crisp photo readily available for the contest(webcams are terrible cameras, oi).If I can scrounge up the cash for the roundtrip and snap off some good images in time, I'll report back, but I do have one actual question in all of this-What is the limit of the definition for 'fire' based entries? Does an entry have to be solely of that element, or would a character that utilizes the element of plasma also be qualified as a similar focus?
    Just fire, please.
Well, I doubt I'll be able to afford to send in the MOC if I win (big if anyways), but after reading that I could add another six Rahkshi to my plentiful collection of them, I'll just go build a Rahkshi and see what happens!EDIT: Does the MOC have to be made of Mata Red or Metru Red? I was thinking making something black and keet/orange, and I'm hoping it's allowed. Also, too keep within the "plausibility" requirement, can the fire itself can be an ability add-on or custom effect 'part'?
Those colours should also be fine, and you'll need to be more specific about what you mean regarding the fire.
  3. Will the public at Brickfair be voting for the winner, or will there be designated judges? Also, are canon creatures allowed, such as Lava Eels?EDIT: And will models sent in be eligible for other awards at Brickfair?

Voting will be public as always.Canon creatures are allowed.Yes.

hmmm, will hero factory be counted as bionicle/ technic?

Hero Factory pieces can be used; however, the entry must fit into the Bionicle universe.

...I really got to get a digital camera, because I might just enter this one.Question: even if you're not a finalist, do you still get a prototype piece if you send in the MOC to BrickFair?EDIT: hey, first post on this page.

    As mentioned, yes.

...I really got to get a digital camera, because I might just enter this one.Question: even if you're not a finalist, do you still get a prototype piece if you send in the MOC to BrickFair?EDIT: hey, first post on this page.

Sorry to break it to you, only finalists go to Brickfair and Prototype Parts. So if your Moc doesn't go to Brickfair, there is no prototype piece. :/~Gravity
This is incorrect. Only finalists have to send in their entries: all others are encouraged to do so. Please don't answer questions if you're not contest staff.
  4. Hmm... Just this morning I noticed the HF flame looked like feathers... And now I see this. Definitely entering! Also, what are the rules on digital MOCs this time? There needs to be a standardized BBCC rule regarding that.

No digital MOCs, especially since you can't send those in.

are toa, matoran, and turaga count?

    Yes, they are eligible.

Does the fire have to be red/orange?

Yeah. Bionicle doesn't really get very daring with depictions of fire.

This time around, you're going to build a fire-related MOC that wouldn't be terribly out of place in the Bionicle universe. Please, no canonical characters: let's not have a Tahus' Club thing going.

Does this mean no Toa at all, or just no canonical Toa? Like if I was going to make my own Toa instead of Tahu, would it be allowed?
    No canonical Toa.

My entryEntry Name: Pheonix KahuEntry Pic URL: http://upload.bricks...nuva/mc/007.jpgTopic URL (if applicable): http://www.bzpower.c...?showtopic=5196Could I just enter this on the forums and not send it to Brickfair. I don't want to lose my fire parts I used.If not What is the address to send to brickfair.

Do you guys need help coordinating Canadian entries to the show?

I need help since I'm canadian
If you make the finals and you don't send in your entry, you will be disqualified.Addresses will be released once they've been settled.

So, although canonical characters are banned, are we allowed to make MOCs that are still of certain species/groups that exist in the storyline (for example, Toa, Skakdi, Xian, etc.)?~B~

    Yes.

So canon objects are fair game?

    Yes.

I am joining Ballom's question. Are we allowed to build, say, a random Toa of Fire as long as it is not Tahu? This sounds like an awesome contest. The topic title instantaneously gripped my attention. I have a couple of ideas already, now let's see if one of then is executable and whether I can finish my entry in time.-Gata signoff.jpg
I'll join that question as well, I've already made up the basic thing. It looks like Iron Man wearing Tahu Mistika's mask. I was planning it probably to be a Toa, but it's a pretty bulked up one, so it doesn't have to be if it's not allowed for the contest. You'll take entries from outside the US for Brickfair right?
We will, but you will still be responsible for covering shipping in both directions.
  5. Does lava count as fire (at least in name only)?EDIT: Also, could one of the staff members give information on sending things in for Brickfair? It'd be a little difficult for people to mail their stuff in if they don't know how. :P

Lava totally counts. There should be more details soon. We'll let you know then.

So it has to be something that could be in the Bionicle universe? Ah, man I wanted to build something from a game which goes perfectly with the theme fire but would incredible out of place in the Bionicle universe :P

Firey and Bionicley. Those are the two major criteria.

Tufi, just noticed something, you messed up the dates. The finals dates I believe should be July 4th and 5th not August, right?~Gravity

No, the finals are taking place in August because voting, as usual, will take place both on BZP and at Brickfair.
  6. Official BBC Contest #63: You're Fired! The theme for this year's Brickfair is fire. You know, that little thing that enabled something called civilization. No big deal. It's a good theme. Very... Bionicle-y.Eleven years and you can still hear the AFOLs cringe.I'm standing by that one, though. Fire was only, what, a key player for years and years? We got swords made out of fire, or at least plastic representations of such. Villages built into volcanoes. Powerful flaming warriors. Fire was big. Yeah, that sounds like a good theme to me.This time around, you're going to build a fire-related MOC that wouldn't be terribly out of place in the Bionicle universe. Please, no canonical characters: let's not have a Tahus' Club thing going. And then, once you've built and entered your MOC, send it to Brickfair! We'll have a diorama of fire MOCs there and it's gonna be sweet. Finalists will be required to send their MOCs, but all eligible entrants are welcome to participate as well. And why might you do this? Besides the standard ovation and fame forever, MOCs sent in to Brickfair will come back with shiny prototypes. Furthermore, for the winner of this contest, we have a matching set of all six Rahkshi (one of them even has a flame-looking staff) graciously donated by Kevin Hinkle.Burn stuff!!!**please do not burn stuff------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Entries begin being accepted as soon as this topic is posted, and will stop being accepted on Sunday, June 17th at 11:59 P.M. EST. We will accept unlimited entries for this contest, so there's no need to rush your entry. To enter, simply post a link to your .jpg or .gif entry picture in this topic. Your entry post in this thread should appear as follows:Entry Name:Entry Pic URL:Topic URL (if applicable):------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A running tally of entrants will be updated daily IN A SEPARATE PINNED TOPIC, which will be posted shortly after the first entries are received.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Voting Process:Preliminary Voting begins June 19th and ends June 22nd at 11:59 P.M. EST.Final Voting begins August 4th and ends August 5th at 11:59 P.M. EST.The contest winner and final voting results will be posted in a separate thread on August 6th------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Rules:1) Your entry may not have been published prior to the start of this contest. You may make your own topic before posting in the official entry thread, but you must create a post in the entry topic before it is closed in order to be officially entered. If, after posting your entry anywhere on BZP but before officially entering it (including the blogs), you modify it and then enter it, you will be disqualified. You may only start one topic for your entry. Please post only one main pic in this entry thread and a link to the rest of the pics in the gallery on your image host (most likely Brickshelf, Photobucket, or Flickr). You can do pictures as normal in your own separate thread. If you need help posting pictures, please see this topic.2) Don't PM the contest host unless you have to. Ask questions in this topic and the host or an assistant will answer it.3) Painted parts are NOT ALLOWED. No non-LEGO parts. All other LEGO parts are fair game; however, for the most part, they should be Bionicle pieces and Technic pieces. Let's say, at least 75% of the MOC Bionicle/Technic parts. Pictures in which the appearance of the MOC has been edited in Photoshop or other editing software are also prohibited. If either method is used, the MOC will be disqualified. The background may be edited, as long as it does not alter the appearance of the MOC.4) Only one entry per member. You cannot switch or modify models mid contest. Once you have entered, you may not "un-enter" your models and enter new or modified ones in their stead. You may opt to bow out of the contest for whatever reason but you cannot reenter under such a situation. If you get disqualified for any reason, you will not be allowed to reenter with another MOC in that contest.5) Any flaming will result in disqualification from the contest. Competition is good if you keep it clean. Everyone play fair, NO WHINING, no insults. I reserve the right to DQ any entry at any time for any reason.6) Absolutely, positively NO CHEATING! Anyone found to be cheating or even suspected of cheating will face immediate disqualification from this contest and will be banned from participating in future contests. They will likely also be banned from the site. Mods know this information, so you're not fooling anyone but yourself by thinking you can get away with it. We run a check on people with multiple accounts too, which is an offense that results in banning from BZP entirely, aside from the contest... DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.7) No "this is unfair" posting. Some people have more parts, money, time, fish, gigs left on your hard drive, etc than others. That's life; we each have to do our best with what we have. Any excessive complaining may, at the judgment of the contest runner, disqualify you!8) Discussion is encouraged. Feel free to ask questions about models you see or about the contest in general. This is for us, the BBC builders; let's have some fun with it.9) The contest is open to all BZP members, and voting is open to all BZP members to participate in even if they did not enter an MOC. "Advertising" your MOC is fine by making a signature or avatar reminding people to vote for you, but mass-PMing is frowned upon and will just get you disqualified. Advertising your MOC in someone else's thread is also a major no-no. Spamming may result in proto loss or even post-count reductions, so don't do it.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Prizes:The winner will receive a set of six Rahkshi graciously donated by Kevin Hinkle and TLG. MOCs sent into Brickfair will receive prototype pieces.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Contest Hosts:Tufi PiyufiDeeVeeContest Assistants:McSmeagWell, what are you waiting for? Get building already!
  7. However, I believe this violates the WIP rule in the BBC, unless you won't be reposting it.

No 'preview'/'teaser'/WIP topics. You cannot post a topic just to say that you will have a MOC soon, or post a topic with only a silhouette of the MOC or an otherwise intentionally obscured picture. As well, you may not post a topic with a MOC in progress (a 'WIP') with intent to repost the finished product later on in a new topic after getting comments, criticism and ideas on how to continue the MOC. You may only post a topic once you have the actual pictures to post, or a clear, detailed description.

Please tell me if I'm mistaken.
This would still be correct. Please repost only when you have a completed MOC to show.Topic closed.
  8. I have a question: Just what do you want us to link to for our inspiration? A topic, a brickshelf folder? I'd assume you just want a single image, but I want to make sure. Especially since I know exactly what I want to do, but I'm more inspired by a MOCer's work as a whole than any single creation of his.

A specific image of a specific MOC, please.

I suppose I'll ask this for clarification, since I know it changes contest to contest. Can our MOC consist of seperate, non connected MOCs, or does it have to be a single connected creation? :music:

Because of the mechanics of this one, just one MOC, please.
