Two key ones at the moment.
1. Financial Independence (i.e. self-sustaining assets for life), possibly with early retirement thrown into the mix (this has a an awful lot of sub-goals under it, ha).
2. Wife and I would love to see Easter Island. Probably a 5-10 year goal.

Interested in claiming either a medium and a large or two mediums. Need to confirm with the wife that she doesn't mind if I pick a shirt or two up, though.

I don't have any solutions for you. I just wanted to point out that I'm jealous that you have Rahi. Maybe someday I will get myself some.

Haha, easily amongst my favorite sets. I basically pick a Rahi up every 5 years. Got Muaka & Kane-Ra back in...01 or 02. Picked up the Tarakava from either BZP or eBay in the mid-late 00s. Nui Jaga were either a birthday or a Christmas present this past year.

Always always always use the ethernet. College wifi is for plebs.

Wait, this stuff actually works? War cancels the luxury but keeps the GPT?
@Spirit, pretty sure lump sums of cash only work when you're friendly these days. Might be a BNW thing.

The AI is terrible at City State Diplomacy.
"Hmm, the human is buying out all the City States. I wonder what he's up to?"
Just becoming the supreme dictator. I've not been overly impressed with the AI. It's hard because it cheats, not because it's bright.
I think its concept of MAD is basically a dumb comparison of total military scores. I dropped a nuke as a show of force when it started a war. AI responded with 5. Either it doesn't understand escalation or it totally called my bluff.

Canisters hold up fine in not-climate controlled.
But.
Why are you hoarding boxes?
The "collection" aspect of it (as opposed to a "hobby"). That's part of what I'm trying to [rationally] assess now.
I'm probably...75-ish% complete on G1, so it's in [what I think is] a gray area where it's a serious-enough collection that there's value in keeping the box/manual/bricks trifecta (as opposed to the usual missing-box on eBay).
At the same time, calling it a collection requires a certain amount of care, respect and curation (i.e. not a hoard). I've done that on a certain scale (custom-framed posters, carefully staged models, etc.). This is the dark corner.

Mostly been getting sprays in the new boxes, but I landed the Genji skin yesterday.

Nice, Bentonville, AR here. Haven't encountered that many people on BZP closer than Dallas.

oh my goodness hey!
The Insurgent was like the best thing back in the day. I think I played through one of the versions... 10 or 11 times? I just really enjoyed it. Welcome back!
Really glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Huh, you left a year before made my profile, which -- DANG that was a while ago! As such, i don't remember you, but hey, welcome back! And wow, that is a lot of big stuff to happen in those 6 years. When speaking of graduating, was it from Primary Education, or Extra Education (College)?
If it helps, I was running around through at least 2009, maybe 2010. And college, though even that feels like a long time ago (graduated in '13).

Anything good come out of the panel?

Lego S@H still has both (technically). Doesn't quite get you free shipping, though.
My wife found Ekimu recently, not sure where (suspect Walmart). I just broke down and bought Quake Beast straight from Lego (no luck locally). Backordered until the 18th. Might see that same production run hit a few stores too?

Skull Warrior is one of the better sets of that wave, and yeah, Akida (water) was amazing!
Glad to see I'm not the only one who isn't at Brickfair.
You're up in KC, right (thought I saw that in a prior post)?

Latest release was the big one in...09 or 10. I did build some further levels at the time, but there hasn't been a final release. Something I'd love to do someday.

For what it's worth, over the past few months I've realized I basically went through the same thing. Fan Created Games, the Software Library, etc. were sort of my babies and a lot of my team's work (Biotech) were major pillars in that community for the latter half of the 00's.
Got promoted to staff (hat's off to B6 for seeing fit to promote someone that young and awkward), stayed super-involved for a few years, got busy (college), and faded out for 5 years. BZP has literally made my career--really wish I'd stayed more involved.
^ On that note, you made a reply in a topic...maybe 2 weeks ago re. BZP's relevance in a post-forum age (old 2002 homepage, etc.). That is now, of course, a timely discussion (as it was post-G1). I've got some thoughts that I keep meaning to get on paper--would love to help keep this community rolling.

Count me in.

Definitely interested in participating. Can you provide a little more insight into "medium sized" (other than strictly following the specs of the example image)? Does your print vendor support vector files (svg/ai/pdf)?
-
Oi, I helped too!

Ooh, they do? This is probably the second time I've seen one. I guess it's becaue stores don't sell things like that.
What would you do with a million dollars?

Drop it into an ETF and ignore it for ~6 years. Maybe 7 and pay off the house. Then live off the proceeds of 1.5 mil (50-60k/year, inflation adjusted, no mortgage) for life. Work on what I please, for money only if I feel like it.
Are we worried about taxes, here?
