  1. ^^^Pretty much this. After having had a blast playing the original LEGO Racers and then being let down by LEGO Racers 2, I've been wanting to see a new Racers game akin to the original. It didn't try to shoehorn an adventure/career mode in like LR2 did, and the parts selection was better than what was available in the second iteration. I think LEGO Racers 2 could have been much better had they focused more on racing and building and less on the "adventure" aspect. (And by "less", I mean leave it out entirely.) So anyway, yeah... LEGO Racers 4Ever!
  2. While looking at the new sets for 2012 on brickset, I discovered that LEGO has again created a theme geared toward young girls. The first thing I thought if when I saw them was "AAHH! It's Clickits all over again!", but then I took a closer look and discovered that these new sets are very much brick-based rather than having a bunch of specialized parts that can't really be used for anything else other than the purpose it was designed for. I think this is a good move by LEGO. Much better than their previous attempts. One set did catch my attention though. See, I really like sci-fi type robots (and robots in general), so Olivia's Inventor's Workshop stood out to me due to the little remote-controlled robot that it includes. I also noticed that the light on the front of the 'bot is one of the new 1x1 round tiles and that there's a new beaker piece on the table near the back. So I'm looking at these parts and thinking "Just how many Brickforge's element designs is LEGO going to use?" :rolleyes:So anyway, that's my opinion on the new Friends sets, brief though it may be. Post your thoughts!
  3. You're wrong about there being no crackle, DeeVee. That's what the plastic baggies the pieces come in are for. Raw-Jaw doesn't do much for me as a set, so the only reason I'd have to get him would be for the parts. Waspix on the other hand is just plain cool. http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.png Go multi-limbed insects with trans-yellow wings!
  4. The forums are back and we all get premier perks for a month! Yay! I'll see what I can do about getting a new MOC posted.
  5. I could help if you have any questions on adding/replacing the graphics card. And about the 3-D models? I may be able to offer some help with those. (The only 3-D program I've used is Lightwave, but I don't think there should be too much trouble there because Blender has support for Lightwave model files.) If you want to see some examples of my work, look here, here, and here.
  6. Not sure if today is the last day we'll all have premier perks or if there's still a few more days left, but if it ends today, I still haven't taken any pictures of my MOCs. What I plan to do is this: Use my MOCpages account as a "blog" for posting my MOCs. I mean, if all I really want to do is post my MOCs all in one easy to access area, MOCpages sounds like it'd do the job. So what does this mean for my blog here? It means that I'll be replacing my "latest MOCs" section with a link to my MOCpage. It also means that after my premier status expires my blog will probably get totally buried under all the active blogs and no one will be able to find it unless they're specifically looking for it, but such is life. Anyway here's the link to my MOCpage: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/4282

    At Last!

The forums are finally online! And I have premier status for a week! SWEET! Hopefully this will motivate me to take some pictures of my recent MOCs and post them, so keep your fingers crossed!
  8. I'm having the worst time trying to find the blue card on kanohijournal.com, any hints? (Red card was easy enough, but I'm not on the red team.)

  9. I've finally posted the Mutated Fikou Squid I built oh-so-long ago! The last of my currently photographed MOCs, I've been saving it for the end of my little MOC-posting-spree. Check my recent MOC list to the left for a link to the topic!

My vahki remake has been posted. Go and look.

    Whoops...

Looks like I forgot to post another MOC yesterday. Well, at least I remembered today! Today I'm posting my first PBZP MOC, Bonehead108! Be on the lookout! edit: It's been posted!
  12. I've posted another MOC! Check out my Mahritoran remake in the BBC forum!
  13. I've finally posted another MOC! And more to come later this week too! Guaranteed! (I plan to post one every day for the rest of this week, as I have four more MOCs that finally have their pictures taken.) Be sure to leave a comment in the topic!
  14. In other news... (a.k.a. non-bionicle related news) If anyone would like to play against me on Mario Kart Wii, PM me with your friend code and I'll send you mine in return! See you on the track! edit: Strike that, looks like I may not have access to a Wii soon. Have to wait and see.

    Awesomeness!

Just recently I found a Jeep Wrangler model on brickshelf that far surpasses any I've ever seen built. And what's really impressive is that it's not some honkin' huge model either. This thing is only eight studs wide!!! (Nine if you count the mirrors, which is the widest point.) After stooping to retrieve my fallen jaw, I decided that I had to figure out how that thing was built. By looking at the pictures provided, I built about 85% to 90% of the model in MLCAD. Here's what I have so far: I have everything built except the engine, the part that allows the orange lights to attach, and an attachment point in the back. Here are some other angles: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 If anyone knows who this "ZED" person is, drop me a PM and let me know! I'd really like to find out how the rest of it is built!
  16. Looks like m a j . c o m decided to go and do a name change to majhost.com. It's been that way for a while now, but I was kinda bored, so I decided to go through all my previous entries and fix all the broken pics and links. I also realized that I've been promising new MOCs, but so far I haven't taken any pictures of them. I don't know exactly how many I have right now, but I have at least half a dozen MOCs that still haven't had their pictures taken. (Maybe they're camera shy? ) Actually, it's not because I haven't had the means or the time, but that I've chosen to do other things with my time. So hopefully (and I know I've said this before), I'll get around to it soon. We'll just have to wait and see. edit: Oh yes, that's right. I had an idea to make an entry offering help and ideas to MOCists in need. A gathering place for those who's work-in-progress could use a little more progress. Where building techniques and ideas are tossed and bounced around to see what works. edit2: Weird, looks like the admins decided to add some code that would replace "m a j . c o m" (spaces added intentionally) with "majhost.com" automaticly.
  17. I'm surprised that no one has suggested Carapar as a contestant yet. I can't really think of a good opponent for him at the moment, but I'm sure someone else can.

    Think #2

A lot of my recent MOCing uses hinges rather than the ball joint commonly used in Bionicle sets and MOCs. (Although I still use them, just not as much.) Today, I've decided to share a hinge idea with you. Most of the pieces here can be swapped out for other pieces and still achieve about the same amount of articulation. The pieces that make this idea work are shown here: One way of using this design would be for a more compact hinge for wings. Very useful for smaller MOCs. An example of part replacement is here, where I used a similar piece so that I could attach it the way I needed. Hopefully you guys won't have to wait too much longer before I finally get around to taking pics of my MOCs. Until then!
  19. This is sort of an "about me" thing. I got most of the questions from this topic, rephrased them, and added a couple of my own questions. 1. So, you're a MOCist? How long have you been MOCing? I've been MOCing for as long as I can remember, starting with Duplos. (Those jumbo-size LEGO bricks for younger kids.) 2. Do you have a self-MOC? Kinda yes, kinda no. I built GB1 probably back in '03 when the Rahkshi were fairly new. There was a bit of a Kraata mech thing going on back then, headed by Bonehead108. It was an attemt to sort of fit in with the idea, but I never considered it to be an actual "self-MOC". 3. What are your favorite things about MOCing? I really enjoy the challenge of finding the right combination of pieces to get the look I'm going for. (As long as I can eventually find it.) Also, it's fun to create characters and creatures to fit into a story that I already enjoy. 4. What are your favorite things to build? Humanoids, creatures, and robots. 5. What inspired you to start MOCing? It's the way I started out playing with LEGO. Since all I had was a big tub of Duplos, and no actual sets, it was pretty much all I could do. (And it was great fun. ) 6. Which part (or parts) of your MOCs do you usually have the most difficulty building? On humanoids, I think it'd probably be the legs, since I want to make them custom, but they also need to be strong enough to support the weight of the rest of the MOC. 7. Have you been working on anything recently? My most recent MOCs, which are still unposted, are a robot inspired by JINZOINGEN 73's original Riotflea design (only smaller), and a Vahki remake. 8. How many MOCs have you ever had built at one time? I seem to recall having ten at one point. Not entirely sure, though. 9. If you had to choose one word to describe your building style, what would it be? That's a tough one there, but I think "articulated" might work. I usually build small, but I like to pack in as much articulation as possible. 10. What would you suggest to someone looking to improve their MOCing skills? Study other people's work. Try to figure out how and why their design worked and see if you can implement the idea in your own creations. Don't steal their design, though. Tweak and tune it. The more you do that, the easier it is to develop your own style. If someone's work has inspired you, it's always a good idea to give credit where credit is due. 11. Do you have any closing comments? How about a quote? "Gotta build like crazy!" - LEGO Maniac (From the LEGO Club Magazine)
  20. Wow, I didn't realize that. Thanks! (It'll sure make it easier on me! )
  21. As you may or may not have noticed, I've created a trade list for MLN over on the right side of my blog here. I plan to keep it updated with the things I currently need and things I have available for trade. The items in bold are things I'd really like help with, so if you have the item or items and are willing to trade, drop me a PM!

    I'm Back!

Whew, it's been a while. Ever since that virus-thing showed up on BZPower I've been staying away waiting for the issue to be resolved. So now it's fixed and I'm back. Now all I have to do is get around to taking pics of my latest MOCs...

    Bzprpg

I have recently started playing in the BZPRPG. The only character I have right now is Freedrahk, half kraata - half rahkshi. I'm going to add a content block with links to what I have so far. (Chances are I'll already have it up before anyone reads this. Maybe.) I may as well put the links here too. Profile page Post 1 Post 2

    Fun With Tags

Wow, a new forum tag that I've never seem before. Does it really work? (Hover pointer over text above.) edit: Oh yeah. I have access to a digital camera once again, so be prepared for some new MOCs.
