I still think an Av-something as an NPC should show up at some point, even if- no, especially if light and shadow are even more super special significant in the RP than G1 canon. Mata Nui could use someone like that, what with canon heroes dying left and right and darkness-empowered evildoers crawling out of the woodwork everywhere. (nuuuuuuu takua T_T)

I don't want Av-Matoran to be playable, really- that's OP as heck, among other things. I would like to see one show up as a plot-relevant, staff-controlled NPC or something, though. Even if he or she only ends up being a glorified plot coupon or something. This island has enough beings of Darkness already. It could use just a touch more Light.

I still hope we see at least one confirmed Av-Matoran, though.

Aw sweet Nektann are a thing. I love those things. Wish there'd actually been sets of them, rather than just that weird tower thingamajig.

I wanna play some Matoran, but I've already got ideas surrounding a Toa team my current two characters used to be part of and I wanna get them out of the way first before I move on. What with all the talk that's been going on, though, maybe I should just put them on hold for now, have Joskander wander off somewhere for no reason, and get to kicking rear with a guy half the size of everyone else he's fighting.

Personally, I'm not annoyed with the mask being gone, just a bit peeved that the whole thing was just kinda glossed over. We didn't even get an in-story reason as to why and how. :/ (That said, being a guy that values imagination and stuff, I would've loved to see the Hiripaki get more usage and stuff. There's a lot of cool things that can be done with erasing the line between stories and reality. Like, that one fanfic I was planning about Stannis? It basically involved him entering the world of stories and having some sort of spiritual journey and stuff. I should really get around to writing that. )

It was a very difficult decision to make. We had a very high standard of submissions, and the changing-hands of one of the game's most influential characters is not something we were going to take lightly. During those 'weeks and weeks of no contact', the five Maru players were discussing the entries we received and (in some cases, where we felt we needed a bit more from the applicant) interviewing them personally via Skype. We only actually came to a final decision a few days ago. Please bear in mind that (as has been repeated quite a bit lately) we all have lives outside the game, and those real-life commitments made the decision-making process doubly-difficult. Eyru, Mango and Veef (Tyler is Love, Carson Chambliss and Vezok's Friend) have had very little time to commit to the game lately, and the other two of us (Tyler and me) are staff members, so we have enough on our plates as it is. I would've announced the winner before now, but I've been extremely busy since we made the decision (hence the general lack of posts on my part). ...so essentially a "yes", then. Eh, makes sense.
