As some of you might have noticed in my sig, I was abscent for the last weak. The reason for that abscense was the anual graduation major courses school trip (Yes. 6 words for something we have one word for in German.) to some other country.
The destination: Krk on the Island Krk, Croatia.
The journey: 13hours+ in some bus. Which aparrently was concipated exactly in such a way that I was unable to get a decent sleeping position during the night ride. We left last saturday around 10pm and drove over austria through Slowenia only to arrive in Croatia early that afternoon.
The hotel was close to the water and it was nice to hang out there in the evening, but the hotelrooms itself were pretty mediocre, or at least not what I'd expect from a hotel in one of the countries biggest holiday regions.
Anyway, the food was allright, I didn't dare taste the dessert though...it looked creepy, unfortunately they didn't have free drinks included for dinner so we actually had to buy the water.
During the 3 days where we actually stayed on the Island we visited some major locations there, like the city Rijeka and the city Krk it self (it's kind-of pronounced like Cpt. Kirk), I did some minor sketches in my dragon-journeys sketchbook.
On the second day we visited some small village on the mainland, where could test some whine (i didn't like it), some fig booze (holy mother of muffins that stuff burns in the throat.) I am glad I don't like drinking anyway, like I said just testing those things. We also saw what our guide claimed to be the worlds most narrow alley, which was pretty cool to walk through.
On the day after that we saw some other cities, led by a different guide, but I hardly paid attention, since it was boring beeing told about minor details all the time. (Yes, I am not a person interested in the history of every small building in some holiday town.)
The evenings pretty much were the same. Dinner, hanging out with the other classmates and some pool (which I am relatively good at ^^) and then some talking on the rooms or down at the beach, which wasn't really a beach, more like a promenade along the water from which one could directly jump in.
In addition we did a trip with a glass-bottom boat on thursday.
And On friday morning we packed our stuff and drove back to slovenia where we visited the largest cave I have ever been in so far (I must upload the video some time, with indiana jones music behind it, it's pretty cool.)
So, there you know where I was. No internet access there so no word from me.
This week, except for a classtest on tuesday will be about project days where I will be doing portraits of people ^^ I am not sure how this is scheduled yet though exactly, so...need to ask someone for this one as well.

    Important info:
This is the last week before the holidays now though, so any questions for me should be asked within the next 7 to 9 days, before I leave for the beautiful little Island shown two entries below.

As those of you who play with me in the BZPRPG have probably noticed, I suddenly dropped out of activity last week. The reason for that is that I got the incredible opportunity to work at the Star Wars: The Old Republic booth at GamesCom in Cologne this year, via contacts I got from school.

We met the previous weekend for the initial briefing; and after clearing up all questions, we drove to Cologne on Tuesday, where we moved into the flats we would have during the week and to get our on-sit briefing at the booth.
Once we arrived, we met with the people from Bioware and EA, mostly from the community management-side, but also the live-producer and lead pvp-level designer. They are incredibly nice people all around and it was a good reminder, why I want to work in the industry. On Sunday, I also had the great pleasure of meeting some of the community-managers for Mass Effect, another bunch of awesome people.

On Wednesday we had the press-visitors at the booth and also the 501st legion. I have nothing but respect for these guys. It was hard enough working at the booth for 10 hours with short breaks, to the point where some of us got serious pain in the feet. But imagine that while wearing several pounds of plastic armour and in Darth Vaders case, a full-body leather suit and 10lb helmet. They were awesome as well and so much fun, providing lots of laughter for everybody involved.

Then on Thursday, the gates opened for the general public and madness ensued. We channeled people through the booth in 20-minute intervals, so they could try the game if they hadn't played it yet or to try the new exclusive warzone the BW guys presented there.

But aside from working at booth, we had some really cool parties in the evening, from a community meet'n'greet on thursday to the Sony-party on saturday.

All in all, it was just amazing and totally worth all the work. One of the best weeks and best teams ever!

So yeah, that's where I was. I have a project-management test coming up on wednesday, so I need to study for that. But I am back and will get active again asap!

May the force be with you!

    My Inquisitor Yandra Adaar.

Dragon Age Inquisition was one of the few games in the past couple of years that managed to drag me into its world from the word go.

In no small part thanks to the work of the ever-awesome Matt Rhodes, who's style this is loosely based on.

Definitely not the last time I draw Lady Adaar ^^

I have to admit, I have not made a whole Toa Team at once before. It's a little harder than expected, but a lot of fun as well to write the backstory of six Toa, rather than just one.

But it's fun to see what different inspirations can create in combination. In this case, you take Bram Stoker, add Prototype and supernatural beings and throw in some good old-fashionied Bionicle-Mystery on top. I think those of you who play will like the result.

Now, I just hope NM approves these guys once I send them to him...

I know Necro is probably going to want to flay me alive for this...with his mind, but I've decided to re-install ME2.
For another playthrough. Playthrough Nr. 6 or more by now.
Now, chances are I failed and forgot to make a backup up my original safe-file and will need to recreate Alexander Shepard (As seen in my Avatar) and play through ME1 AND 2 or I did make a backup on the external HD...let's hope for the latter.
In any case though, ME2 came with such a buttload of DLC (15 Releases, 7 of which are additional missions each taking another few hours to complete.)
Which I am downloading. Right now. All at the same time.

    :3

    Edit: Nooo...Alexander Shepard got killed during a total system reboot ;_;
Seems I need to go all Lazarus on the Game. Well, seems I will need to save the galaxy twice this month then...

HAL is back. Aparrently he did not decide I was risking the Space-mission.

A few days without PC access can really get you to thinking. And I don't mean more time thinking away from the PC, I mean sleep-deprived lying awake asking about the question that results in 42 at 2am and no end in sight.

I got some good results and some mental walls. Also I really lack in socializing in RL atm. Pm, comment or talk to me?

The upside(s) are not bad though: I figured out why some people I know are as awesome as they seem, I watched Season 5 of House over the last 3 days and feel like his nicer younger self by now (Problem?)...oh, and AC: brotherhood collectors edition arrived yesterday :3

Now all that remains is to update HAL to run Win7 and I will be back with full force! Also I decided to update my Blog-design over the next 2 weeks. And I have started drawing a weekly webcomic. Nothing is online so far, but it will be. In time.

How have you guys been the last week?

    As previously mentioned,

during my recruitment workshop there was a camera team, putting together a documentary about getting the design job and the company in general. Very interesting and aside from my colleague Justin in Super Heroes, I show up in the background every now and then, not to mention our very own 55555 ^^

Hope you get a little glimpse behind the scenes!

That's what it looks like in my head right now. I think I'm turning into a machine...kinda like Sam Worthington in Terminator Salvation.
Also makes me want to rip out my hair like he did.
Actually this is kind of fun to learn about if the pace weren't so fast and if the exam was on thursday.

Ok...enough downtime, back to crunching numbers.

    Compiling...

Vader: "See-threepio, Artoo never told you what happened to your creator."
C-3PO: "He informed me sufficiently. He told me you killed him."
Vader: "No... I am your creator!"
C-3PO: "No... no... That's not true. That's impossible! The odds against you being my creator are..."
Vader: "Search your feelings, You know it to be true."
C-3PO: "Noooo!! You see, sir, shortly after the Jedi were wiped out, my memory was erased. So that could explain why I'm having difficulty verifying your statement."

Hey guys. Nothing new from, except more art on the way, but today I am not here to blog about anything related to me.

Crimson Jester, which all of you who ever stepped into the the BZPRPG in the past few years should know, at least by the name, has asked me to let you all know that he's currently taking some time off BZP. He lost two good friends this month, so you know why.

    Stay safe everybody.

Had the rare opportunity to see one of the few concerts legendary BÖC were ginving in Germany. Granted, I did not know all their songs before going, but I always liked their hits and they certainly delivered! Best money ever spent this year!

Probably should have brought a cowbell for Don't fear the reaper, just for fun ^^

    Cheers!

Hey guys. It's been way too long since I updated here.
I don't really have a reason, except that with my blogs imagery being totally out of whack since the new forums came online, I didn't want to force anybody to look at something so horribly disorganized.
Also, I simply haven't taken the time to update it...lazy me.

Anyway, life is keeping me busy. I am trying to up my drawing output but it has yet to become a steady habit that yields results every third day or so, so that's what I'm working towards this year.
    Game-design wise, we're currently involved in a movie-assignment.
The group I am part of has decided to make a short fantasy-story that tells the tale of a young man who, as a coming-of-age ritual has to go deep into the wilderness and survive whatever challenge might await him there.
It sound relative serious like that, but there's all sorts of comedic material to it, a lot of which was inspired by Monty Python and other great comedy-people.

Other than that, I am also working on some more Bionicle-related art, thinking about doing some HF art.
Also, I am open for comissions anytime, so if you need a logo or illustration, contact me via PM.

    Cheers!

    So soon? Yes indeed!

Keep your eyes open for the next few days, another character-illustration approaches!

In the meantime, a public service-announcement from Lenny the Lemon-Shark!

A distopian future with augmented humans and a hunk of a protagonist? Oh yeah, just ask BD if that ain't awesome.

But aparrently that hunk goes by the stagename of Voltaire in RL and sings dark cabaret songs about the lack of lavatories on the Enterprise.

Mary Poppins (Julie Andrews) is 75 today? Whoa ^^
Speaking of years, I think I'll get my hands on the remastered John Lennon CDs.

And even more talk about remastered stuff: Starwars I-VI in 3D?

Yeah...today is a good day to die. Today I really hate myself. And it's even worse because there is no reason for it either.

PS: I am thinking about changing my fontcolour here. Any suggestions? I am tending towards blue.

Once again it is well past midnight except this time I do not have a legit reason to stay up this late unlike a few weeks earlier when it consisted of doing awesome art with awesome people sitting in their awesome room trying to keep each other awake (you know who you are and you are awesome )
I am trying to decide, wether or not to adjust my sleepschedule back to more homely times which means going to bed and waking up at odd ours while on this side of the atlantic and turn into a northamerican undead (non-sparkling) while waiting for a flight, or be a sane person and go to bed at regular times and combat the jetlag by the means of groundhog-day-like sleeping until the time is right again to come out into daylight again (Ahhhh the burn!).

Suggestions or anybody with a coffin I could rent, depending on what the majority vote turns out?

PS: When has it become in to pimp "totally" into totes? I see where it is a hip thing and saves you typing an additional 2 keys therefore prolonging your keyboards life, but on the other hand it sounds strange to me, a German, to whom "totes" is an attributive adjective meaning DEAD. ^^
