  1. Lastly, it is my understanding that Article 96 pertains specifically to a decedent who wishes to return from "The Shadow Realm" by their own sheer force of will likely because they do not have the advantage of having a mythical Titan to assist in their endeavor. :P

I gathered as much. I was referring to the way the resurrection was to occur. Why a Great Hau? Why three heartlights? Why nothing logical or reasonable like something personal of the deceased?

  2. The beginning is usually best. :P

I'm going to ask this in a plain yes-or-no fashion; are the proposed Elements; "Fear", "Disintegration", "Hunger", "Shattering", "Poison", and "Fear" naturally occurring Matoran Elements? If not, did some external force cause the change?

What I probably should have asked initially is this; how would a Toa use these Elements in a blast? Based on your definitions, "Elasticity" and "Density" are limited to the Toa's body or, as is the case for "Density", physical contact. "Health" could be a blast of regenerative energy. "Disintegration" and "Shattering" could be blasts of said energy.

Considering most people classify a storm as weather, I'd be more inclined to think that a Toa of "Weather" is capable of doing everything a Toa of "Storms" could and more. But by what you've said, a Toa of "Weather" is really more like a Toa of Atmosphere.

Thank you for the clarification. I miss understood the meaning of "Brimstone". But both could be created by two or more Elements working together; "Magma" created by combining Fire or Plasma with Earth or Stone, "Brimstone" created by combining Air with "Poison". For that matter, so could "Weather" or "Storms" by Air and Water working in conjunction.

These are the problems I see with the Elements as defined.

    • "
Weather" or "Storms" Despite what you and Ballom say, these two are the same. "Storms" is just more limited.

"Rahi" This relies on there being Rahi around to control.

"Brimstone" Basically poisonous gas. Which would classify it an evil or negative Element.

"Fate" It's just too powerful to be an Element.

"Density" Any use requires physical contact or is limited to the body, best kept as a power.

"Elasticity" Its use is limited to the body, also best kept as a power.

"Power Scream" This is a power of Sonics.

"Health" I don't have much of a complaint for this except the lack of an offensive use.

"Poison" Any use would require physical contact.

"Electricity" EDIT: Should have had this here to begin with. Ability-wise, it's the same as Lightning.

Here are what I perceive these currently undefined Elements to be.
    • "
Insects" Same basic abilities and problem as "Rahi" except with bugs.

"Moonglow" I'm not sure what this could be other than Twilight. Not really Light, not really Shadow, but something in between.

"Anger" Being able to control or invoke feelings from mild irritation to uncontrolled rage in others.

"Hunger" Would most likely work like the Kanohi Avsa.

"Shattering" Explosions. That's what it is, explosive energy.

"Fear" Being able to control feelings from slight unease to complete terror in others.

If I've missed anything or should clarify further, please do not hesitate to tell me. Also I'd like to apologize if I've ever seemed rude, it's a problem of mine.
  3. "UNDECIDED" on Article 42. Our past discussion and Cap'n K's concerns has lead me to doubt the usefulness of the Cryalis as defined in the article. The ability to become a physical Elemental entity like the Elemental Lords would remove that doubt.

"UNDECIDED" on Article 93. I have placed my concerns regarding this article here.

"AYE" on Article 94. Replace "The Underworld" with "The Afterlife." "The Underworld" sounds evil and foreboding. "The Afterlife" sounds far more neutral. It might also help alleviate Ballom's concerns. Also could a being wearing a Kanohi Elda detect another being in "The Shadow Realm?"

"AYE" to Article 95. My primary concern is the inclusion of the Matoran tribes, no Matoran would naturally wield these Elements. Unless their proximity to the "Tuats" caused them to mutate into Matoran with those Elements.

This is just nitpicking but, I don't see the need to specify that each "Kingdom" had a "Tuat", merely state that there are six located throughout the MU and that a deceased person's soul has to pass through the nearest "Tuat" to reach "The Shadow Realm."

"AYE" on Article 96. When Takutanuva only needed Jaller's mask and the sacrificing of some of his own life force to bring Jaller back; why would a Hau, three heartlights, and a ritual be needed? This one is almost ridiculously too silly and laughable to think about.

"AYE" to Article 97. It is good to have something to help us avoid conflicting any of our storylines.

"AYE" to Article 98. I see no reason to oppose this.

  4. These are the Elements I will need to be persuaded to approve of:

    Moonglow

    Radiation

    Anger

    Storms

    Weather

    Elasticity

    Spirit

    Rahi

    Fate

    Technology

    Insects

    Magma

    Brimstone

    Density

    Disintegration

    Power Scream

    Darkness

    Hunger

    Health

    Shattering

    Poison

FearScratched through indicates any negative Elements I consider as non-negotiable, because a Toa would not naturally wield these Elements and as such, neither would Matoran. I am not stating these can't be Elements, as there could be some way to artificially cause a Matoran to wield one of these Elements.

Underline indicates Elements that, until I am convinced otherwise, are more in-line with powers and abilities.

Colored Elements indicate Elements that I perceive as being very similar in design. I would recommend either remove one or both.

Most of all, I would like to hear more about what Toa of these Elements are capable of doing. I eagerly await answers.

  5. "NAY" to Article 73a. Leaning to "NAY." To paraphrase what I said here, this mask, as defined in the article, is pointless, because the author could have it so the character remembers without the use of the Rextou. What use would it be to remember something you already know?

"AYE" to Article 77a. The "be they friend or foe alike" part has brought up a question; is the user immune to the mask's power?

"UNDECIDED" on Article 88. Considering how the Power Lance amplifies all types of Elemental Energy, couldn't the Black Protosteel be somewhat inferior to it? Or is this more of a mineral or crystal with Shadow-enhancing properties that is able to be melded with metal and thus give the metal similar properties?

"UNDECIDED" on Article 89. While the idea is great, I'm not sure what purpose it could serve. Matoran naturally utilize their Elemental Powers through physical traits. (Ta-Matoran are more heat resistant, Po-Matoran are stronger, etc...) Matoran also lack enough EE to manifest it like a Toa or Turaga can. A "Matoran Stone" would have to both amplify and access a Matoran's Elemental Energy for the Matoran to use it in combat.

"AYE" to Article 90. I see no reason to... Wait, interstellar invaders?

"AYE" to Article 91. No reason to oppose it, until, as Cap'n K said, storyline disproves this.

"AYE" on Article 92. Toa-like beings with no Elemental Powers, sounds like misplaced Glatorian to me.Maybe the Matoran name for them?

  6. A Toa of Air is not too powerful because a gust of wind is just that, a gust of wind. If a Toa of Air pins you against a wall with a cyclone, all you're getting hit by is air. (And what ever the cyclone picks up, but that's not my point.) If a Kanohi Wit user pins you with a cyclone, you're going to get paralyzed. And unless you have some kind of mental powers, you are helpless. That is why I do not support using the wind to carry the power. Even my Kanohi Rethus, with its absolutely horrifying power, could be fought against.

Given Koji's examples, he plans to have the user, a Toa, use the mask to kill virtually helpless opponents. If that's not against the Toa Code I don't know what is. Not to mention, the fact that there's no point in tranquilizing then killing someone, except to get an easy kill. Tranquilization is normally used for capture purposes.

  7. But as it spreads it weakens.

But the wind part was because it was originally made for use by a Toa of Air in an epic of mine.

My main problem is the fact that utilizing the wind makes the power unavoidable. You can't dodge the wind.

To be fully honest, entwining the power with the wind seems to be more for theatrics than any practical purpose. Eye beams or even physical contact from the user are some simpler, more practical ways to that would make me support the Article.

Ah... My bad on the measurement. But it's a moot point anyway (See below clarification.)

And you said that, "...there are Kanohi known as Rextou (RECKS-too), the Great Mask of Information, which grant the user the ability to scan for and then retrieve technological data files that are stored anywhere within a one square kio area of the user." That is false.

People have called it a "Hacker mask" when it is not in any way a hacker mask. It acts much like a computer in the way that it can create and store file-like information and recall it, and it can only record what has been seen and/or thought. It makes files, pulls up files, but that's it. It cannot access any information that the user has not seen and recorded. Again, it is like a second brain without acting impulses.

I hope I did not sound incredably crabby or confusing, and I would like all of you to reconsider your 'Nay's on Article 73 before it is too late. Please.

    -Em

Based on what you're saying, the Rextou sounds more like a Mask of Memory Recall. Why would it need to exist when you, the author, could simply have the character remember what you need he or she to remember? Maybe said character has a photographic memory or something. And what was the purpose of setting a range limit if the mask could only recall what the wearer already knows?

A Mask of Information would most likely make the user a walking encyclopedia, granting the user knowledge of everything the user needs to know and then saying it out loud. Of course, it would have to constantly be on a low power so the user blurts out random facts about anything and everything at anytime spontaneously.(If you couldn't tell, I'd support this version just for its possible entertainment value. :P )

  8. If you're fighting a Toa and you see a small gust, and say flames on your sides, you'll go through the wind, not fire. The wind carries the energy of tranquilization. It doesn't appear as a threat, but used tactically, it can stop your opponent, and then, kill him/her.

Or the user simply tranquilizes the opponent from a distance without giving the opponent a chance to counter or dodge and avoids any conflict. ;)

Utilizing the wind to carry the power makes it more wide-spread and able to affect multiple targets. It can't be dodged and it can't be blocked. Any user would never need to fight or struggle against any opponent ever again. And that makes it too powerful in my opinion.

  9. Here's a version with the mentioned concentric circles:

    a_circle_logo_revised.png

Made with MS Paint and MS Powerpoint for those curious. :lookhere:

I like the Photoshopped version, but to make it appear more coin-like; evenly raise the entire border and the lettering, leave the white background flat, and add an overall metallic shine to it.

I would very much like to see this made into a 3-D spinny. Nice to know everyone is liking it. :happydance:

  10. Undecided on Article 78. I'm not sure that wind could be used to knock out anybody unless the target's thrown against a wall or something pushed by the wind hits the target, so I'm not sure what I say to this one.

Theoretically, one could increase the air pressure around a target to cause immobilization, provided the target doesn't pass out first. Or the wind could strike a nerve center or the equivalent, but that would require the user knowing where to strike and how hard.

  11. Although I'm opposed to the "Stone Armor" proposal, I would support Article 74 if it were rewritten to simply be a Great Mask of Stone.

Rewriting it as such would also gain my support.

Basically I view this as a fancy name for a Great Mask of Ice, though I understand your problem with the "controlled Nova Blast" wording.

Maybe more of a Mask of Freezing, able to reduce the temperature of any substance to at or below its freezing point.

In my opinion, saying the delivery mechanism is Wind, as opposed to a boring description of a Paralyzing Energy Beam, is really quite creative.

Or perhaps having it manifest as eye beams?

People don't have to limit an Elemental Kanohi to get me to support it, in fact I'd prefer the word "weak" be stricken from this proposal, but the fact that it's there doesn't mean I'm going to oppose an otherwise sensible article. :shrugs:

Do you think that fans think it would have been better if the Canon Story Team had chosen to limit the Kanohi Great Garai?

I too, would prefer it if the word "weak" was removed. If there must be a limitation, make it so the user is vulnerable to the mask's power.

The story team did limit it. The user can't use it on himself.

And don't I get some credit for editing out the revelation of the source of your prank from the early ballots so that we could see who might still vote for such drivel without actually reading the ludicrous nature of the article?

Heh heh. Ausar called it drivel.

  12. "AYE" to Article 80. No complications here.

"AYE" to Article 81. Wasn't the Meow-Mix cat named Morris? I would approve of the name changed to "Moriis".

"AYE" to Article 82. I'm nitpicking.Look, I understand the desire for new words, but can we please be more careful in their construction? I'd hate to see the possible puns that could come off of this.

"AYE" to Article 83. Again, no complications. Just cause I'm curious, was the name based off of Reidak?

"AYE" to Article 84. I like the sound of "vamis". (Wait, isn't that a paradox?)

"AYE" to Article 85. But could you elaborate on "worst"?

"AYE" to Article 86. No complications.

"AYE" to Article 87. But may I ask what the difference is between Darkness and Shadow? I always figured they were synonymous.

  13. "AYE" to Article 70. I see no reason as to why this mask shouldn't exist.

"AYE" to Article 71. My only problem is the name. Can it please be changed? Kehrap? Too close to another word for my liking. Could lead to some very unpleasant puns.

"AYE" to Article 72. Again, no reason for it not to exist.

"NAY" to Article 73. As Ausar pointed out, its use would be impractical. Why would a BIONICLE character need to hack into "technological data files"? Also, how would the user store these stolen files?

"NAY" on Article 74. Usage by non-Elemental Stone beings would be impratical and any skilled Toa of Stone could theoretically do this. A Mask of Stone perhaps?

"NAY" to Article 75. Will someone please explain to me why a proposer can be against his own Article without ANY logical explaination?

"AYE" to Article 76. Though, I can't imagine how it would be heavy.

"AYE" on Article 77. Same argument as Article 74. Besides, there's no such thing as a controlled Nova blast.

"NAY" on Article 78. Too complicated. I don't understand how a blast of wind could lead to paralyzation and I really don't see why.

"AYE" on Article 79. Why must we put such limits on Elemental Masks for fear that they won't be approved?
