Alright, I'm really excited. In one more week, I will FINALLY have my own WP7. I've been waiting for it SINCE 2010. I'm pumped.

Trivia: I once considered an Android device. I thought it was the perfect answer to Apple's dominance. And to a degree, it still is... if it wasn't so fragmented.

    So yeah, WP7. Yay me.

    Anything else I forgot? No.

    Okay. *walks away*

    ....

*returns* OH RIGHT, MORE DEATH STAR PHOTO!

Yeah, I mounted the dish. Yay me ^^

I am now the proud member of the Blue Lantern Corps, White Lantern Corps, and Indigo Tribe.

Which side should I join next? I've got 6 to go (Green will be rather tricky to track down, so avoid it for now.)

So yeah, paid my $52. Still debating how I'll get the island down there, but it's only five boxes so far. I could easily wrap all of them with packing saran wrap, take it on a train, but it'd be faster to just have it driven down.

I anticipate a good event, but I also expect it'll be different than BrickCon. Of specific note, I haven't been down to Portland since I was about 8 or 9, so this will be different for me.

... Meantime, still working on a large project. I can reveal it'll be for BrickMagic in North Carolina. That is all.

This image currently represents a specific system I came up with. For one, gives me an excuse to show off my Lantern Corps symbols. Second, it is tracking the rings I have purchased via many sources. Basically speaking, DC Comics' Collectibles division (formerly known as DC Direct) released nine rings and lantern "power batteries" as collectibles in 2011.

I'm now collecting each one, or will attempt to.

My image above tracks what I now own (or will own very shortly, due to purchases). So far, it's White Lantern, Blue Lantern, and Indigo Tribe. My next purchase would be Green Lantern, however the only price I saw for it was $179 on the -low- end, so I'm going to have to postpone theirs until a later date, or go hunting through my closest comic book stores for one. I'm not desperate for one yet, but if I buy the remaining 5 first, then I might feel the need to own the last one.

TL;DR version: Swert is definitely a geek. We knew that.

So, this is mostly a post about apologies, especially given I'd rather have had it done weeks, even months ago. But, this is what held me back.

I can only explain via visual aid, so here they are.

On picture one, you can clearly see 16 folders. These are labeled 0-9, and a-f. Now, these are the base folders BS01 images were under. It is all sorted in this format. Were all the files in these 16 folders, I woulda been finished a long time ago. Sadly, this is not the case.

This is Folder 0, which has folders 00-09, and 0a-0f. So that's 16 folders extra. Whoops. No biggie, right?

This is folder 00. I even unblurred the folder name so you could see that. So now in lies the problem. I have to enter all 16 folders, in order, and upload them to BS01 directly. Then I can use a script on the site that imports them all to BS01's database. Simple, yes?

This is the folder I'm currently on. images/b/b0/. So, by the math, I have already gone through 176 folders just to get to THIS ONE. This is not counting the original 16 folders, by the way. That would make the count 187 (11 folders to get to B ). I have 256 folders in total to upload.

So, with that knowledge and those visual aids, plus my hectic work schedule, can I honestly and realistically be blamed for this upload taking so long? Probably, but at least now you all know why it takes so long.

    And I won.

Though I am not photographed (for obvious reasons, I'm not the owner ) I did 90% of the work on this ferris wheel.

And yes, it's fully motorized. It has 2 XL Motors on it. There is a video on my account on that one video site, just look under swertmastra. I might throw it up on Vimeo so I can embed it here later, haven't decided yet.

So turns out the boss needs a few tables for an event coming up in the building we're at.

Guess where 3 of his five tables are currently tied up at.

So tomorrow we'll probably mark where each island section goes on the back in a grid, then take the pieces and relocate them to an area in that room away from the tables we need, then move those out of the room. With any luck, not a single piece will be disturbed.

And at least he isn't touching it until I get there. So we know it won't break.

Sorry Jason, I know I said end of the month, but in the bright side, we're getting that ferris wheel set up

NOTICE HOWEVER: If you wish to have any more photos taken before I take it all down, you'll need to submit a request now!

So, Xccj posted a few photos, so now it's time I post the BTS pics 8D

    Poor Jaller.

Legoitis; Symptoms include redness, dimples resembling a LEGO studded baseplate pattern, and loss of feeling. Treatments include not leaning on LEGO baseplates, and taking a quick break while leaning on another part of the table not covered by LEGO baseplates.

A very well designed outline of our decided-upon design for Papa Nihu Reef. Thar be easter eggs here 8D

Xccj spent part of the second day on expanding out his new mountain. The results were outstanding and quite well done.

Photo-Op! Xccj and myself in a decent photo-op working on our peaks.

And there we have it. Some pretty decent photos of our progress. Not a whole lot I admit, but all the detailed stuff is in Xccj's brickshelf, just not a whole lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff.

Topic with ALL photos coming soon.

And we're off to a slow start, as usual.

I have to build the volcano (won't take long) and then we build Mt. Ihu, then decorate 47 more baseplates with plates and bricks.

In other words, we've got a lot of work ahead of us x_x

But hey, MATA NUI : D

Considering making this a Sounders Blog until I run out of premiership and can't update.

And why not? Nobody reads it anyway

Also, 2-1 against a team from Mexico in the CONCACAF Champions League, Quarterfinal first leg. Second leg to be in Mexico.

And no, I don't expect any more Sounders fans here. Sigh.

Back in early November 2011, Xccj and I discussed in detail the idea of building the island of Mata Nui in system brick. We debated many times over how we could do it, eventually deciding on how to do it and where to get the material.

That's when I told my boss Dan Parker.

On March 12th through the 16th, we finally build it. And you're all invited to help : D

Basically, if you live in the Pacific Northwest, able to travel to Tacoma, and want to help out building a system-based island, please feel free to join us and help out. You're not expected to show up every day, I assure you. At first I expected 18+ but at this point we're really desperate for builders, so I'll take what I can get XD

I'm also planning, if you come to assist building, to allow you to sign index cards so I can scan them into a computer and give credit to all builders involved. If you identify as a BZPower member directly, you can get an extra space for a bonus message for anything (WITHIN BZPOWER GUIDELINES) you wish to say. Think of it like a famous-social-media-site's wall function, only related to BZPower.

Now, this may sound unfair to those members who cannot attend. That's why we also plan to collect messages at Bricks Cascade and BrickCon as well, however they will not be posted with the builders' credit.

So yeah, feel free to attend! Send me a PM or email me at swertmastra (at) gmail.com and then I can direct you to the studio with an address and directions from I-5. Our times will be roughly 10 AM to 4 PM, with extensions of hours to be determined day-by-day.

I hope everybody who can come are able to.

I think I'm going to obtain ultimate geekhood soon.

I'm planning to listen to all 14 Studio release Pink Floyd albums this week, during my bus rides to work and back home, without listening to (or attempting to not listen to) anything in between these periods of time.

From the beginning to end, IN ORDER, regardless of how I feel about any of it. I'm also timing the morning albums to end EXACTLY when I get to work. (This is 71 minutes, by the way). I'm working on a schedule already:

    Piper: 41:52
    Saucerful: 39:25
    More: 44:56
    Ummagumma: 86:11
    AHM: 52:06
    Meddle: 46:46
    OBClouds: 40:30
    DSOM: 42:59
    WYWH: 44:28
    Animals: 41:41
    The Wall: 81:09
    Final Cut: 43:27
    AMLOR: 51:14
    TDB: 66:32
AVERAGE BUS TRIP TIME: 71:00 (between 9:19-10:30)

    ... I think I'm crazy. @_@

So a few friends of mine online decided to debate, briefly, what would be the #1 song you would pick from The Beatles to introduce the band to someone who (for some weird reason) never heard of them.

To clarify, I don't mean their best or greatest, rather the song that best defines them and their career. That's arguably even tougher than the best song to some.

So what do you guys think?

(While we're at it, if you can think of the same for any other band you can think of, feel free.)

So I had a brief discussion with my boss and others in the studio, and we discussed in detail the Bionicle MOCs area in conventions such as BrickCon. So a good question came up, is the theme of Bionicle at a convention supposed to be about the theme of Bionicle, or the parts that come with it?

So I ask the community, do you consider Bionicle theme at conventions (BrickCon, BrickFair, etc.) to be about the theme of Bionicle, or the parts used? Would using Hero Factory parts be considered taboo against the Bionicle theme? And what about building Bionicle themed items in other themes such as system brick?

Me personally, I'm all about the theme, given you can still use Technic in Space (a traditional System theme) and you can use Mindstorms in Technic (a traditional... yeah, you get the idea).

    What do you guys think?
