BZPower member Keyblade87 recently shared their Mata Nui Online Game Improvement Mod that takes the classic web game and updates it for 2022. They recreated or cleaned up a lot of the compressed JPEG graphics, fixed a few bugs, and made some changes to match things with other story sources, remove dependencies on the calendar as it was originally, and just to make things more logical. I love that people are still enjoying this game so many years later and feel the need to keep up it updated with the times!View the full article

The entries are all in, and now the winners have been announced. (Well, except for the Microscale contest, they need some more time with that.) The Bionicle winner is Bionicle: Helix by Shipmaster1, which is an interesting concept for the theme. We've reported on a lot of LEGO IDEAs submissions that have gotten to the 10K mark, but not often are they Bionicle themed. That is not the case with Mata Nui Rises [Bionicle Tribute Set] by Axelford. He has recreated the giant robot that rose from the oceans in 2008, complete with a lot of details that Bionicle fans will be familiar with. Given the number of IDEAs projects that have gotten this far, it'll be interesting to see if it gets approved, but it is impressive that it got this far. Good job Axelford!! Hopefully we can see some other Bionicle themed projects follow this one into the review stages.View the full article

It looks like LEGO IDEAS isn't going to leave us completely high and dry for Bionicle content; their latest contest is 90TH ANNIVERSARY: BIONICLE THEME CELEBRATIONS. The entry period is from July 21st to August 4th, so less than a week to make something, but there's a plethora of cool Anniversary prizes going out to the winner. It's quite the feeling to wake up and realize that nearly twenty-one years have gone by since you stumbled across a new Bionicle fan site that would go on to alter the course of your life. It's been over two decades since Dimensioneer started the site that would go on to become BZPower (after starting out as Bionicle Zone and later BZCommunity after an early letter from the LEGO lawyers) and somehow we're still here! I'm thankful every day for the friends I've made and experiences I've had thanks to this site and know many of you feel the same.
