Move over, Shark Week, Canadian LEGO fans are getting a LEGO Week (okay, four days) on Teletoon. Beginning on November 21st and running until the 25th, the channel will be showing NINJAGO and HERO Factory episodes, as well as the LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace, LEGO: The Adventures of Clutch Powers BIONICLE: The Legend Reborn movies. Many of these episodes are dubiously listed as "new" on the details page, but even repeats make for a fun watching.

Sarasota, FL, was home to a chalk festival this past weekend. An outline of an upcoming work of art made the rounds on the internet late last week, and now the piece is done after much anticipation. Member toa ordaku found a picture yesterday and shared it on the forums. This masterpiece is something not to be missed.

Cosmic Book News has a press release from Papercutz regarding the upcoming Ninjago graphic novel. We reported in September that there had already been over 150,000 preorders for the comic. Apparently if your toy line appears on several 'Most Wanted' lists, you can have a first print run of 190,000 books. With the Bionicle comics still sitting at around 250,000 copies for the whole series, it's apparent that Ninjago is a big success. In fact, they've already announced a second book, pretty much guaranteeing that we'll be seeing the line again next year.

Today only, November 5, Toys 'R' Us is having a buy-one-get-one 50% off sale on most LEGO sets. This, for a change, includes Star Wars, but does not include Ninjago, Pirates of the Caribbean, or Mindstorms. The Mindstorms NXT 2.0 set is on sale though for $90 off TRU's normal price - you can pick it up for $239.99 today. Today might be a pretty good day to start doing some holiday shopping for yourself and all your LEGO-loving friends!

All good things must come to an end. January 31, 2012 will mark the end of LEGO Universe, the brick-themed massively multiplayer online game. It seems that even with the influx of players in their free-to-play mode, they were unable to get enough paying subscribers. If you're a Universe player, enjoy the next three months, and see to it that the games goes out with a bang! Read on for the full press release.

BZPower Member Piraka~Mistika spotted an update to HF Recon Team, an addition of the latest elements released. The new parts include 3.0 helmets, gold armor, the new claw hand pieces, and more. Looks like you can get some good parts for only $13.

If you're a LEGO Harry Potter fan, then you're probably aware of the next video game coming out: LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7. LEGO has now released a Demo for the game, allowing you to play through a level and see all the new features. A PC download is available here but it's only good for Windows XP, Vista, and 7, and not MAC.

If you used to pay to play Lego Universe but have since allowed your premium membership to expire, a special offer is available to you. This weekend, November 4-6, former premium players will get free full access to the game for "Welcome Back Weekend." Now that the game is a year old, you can check out all the updates and additions you've been missing. More info on how to claim this is available at the FAQ.

October is very very very nearly over, but we haven't forgotten about you podcast listeners. October's show is right here or you can subscribe via RSS or iTunes as per usual (links on the right). It's late for some of us, so I'll just say - enjoy!
The forums are back! We start this month off by talking about the return of the forums with Takuma Nuva. Then I'm joined by DeeVee and ChocolateFrogs to discuss the upcoming line of LEGO Superhero sets. McSmeag shares his musical prowess to wrap things up. It's a quick show, but that's okay, because the forums are back! Talk to you all next month!

It is time for another edition of the LEGO Magazine to come to a mailbox near you. Funny how that happens every other month.... The November/December issue of LEGO Mag is full of content, with a holiday twist here and there, of course. It is reportedly filled with Ninjago and Hero Factory specials, LEGO Star Wars as usual, some promos for upcoming sets and... a DVD! This disc has a few short videos for enjoyment. It sounds like an issue full of fun.

This Sunday we bring you a break from the endless stream of Toys 'R' Us sales (I'm both happy and sad that Bricktober is over), and bring you another insightful set review. Blog Leader DeeVee took some amazing pictures of Raw-Jaw and wrote some words to go along with it. Read on to treat your eyes to a feast of pixels and prose!

Next weekend, November 4th through 6th, Kidsfest will be taking Cleveland by storm. You can find out more information on the official site. These events always seem like a lot of fun, and it's the closest the US gets to an official LEGO convention. If you're in the area, check it out!

In the straight-out-of-left-field department, an eight foot tall LEGO Minifigure was found on the beach in Siesta Key, FL. As Yahoo! reports, this isn't the first time this has happened - similar minifigs appeared in Denmark and Britain a few years ago. Most puzzling about this is the message of "No Real Than You Are" that appears on his chest. Sometimes people do odd things, make of this as you will.

In the first BZPower contest since the forums rejuvenation, Short Stories Contest #8 was announced yesterday. The contest asks writers to compose a tale based off of the title of one of the Bionicle Comics, a wide reaching theme with interesting possibilities. The contest is hosted by the indefatigable Forum Mentor Toa Velox, and the deadline is December 1st, plenty of time to get your writing juices flowing! Whether a BZP Library devotee, or just someone who thinks they would enjoy writing, all are welcome!

LEGO City Stories is an upcoming game from TT Games made for the Wii U. TT Games director Arthur Parsons recorded a video where he talks about the new game, which he thinks is awesome. You can check out the video here.

The folks over at HS01 requested a commission of Hero Factory comic artist Elmer Damaso: a unique piece of art of an expanded universe character. He pulled through and presented them with this, a shot of Merrick Fortis in action (or peril?). Be sure to check out this impressive piece of work.

This is the last week of Toys 'R' Us' Bricktober promotion, and there's some decent deals to be had. Of course, a $20 or greater purchase will nab you a Classic Space minifg magnet. If you spend $30 or more on Star Wars sets, you get a free 'Droid' set (the TRU I went to didn't have any, so I'm not sure what they actually are). Finally, if you spend $50 on LEGO, you get $10 off your purchase, or $25 off a $100 purchase, excluding Star Wars. Not too shabby at all.

New York Comic Con was last weekend at the Javits Center in New York City. Maybe not as cool as Toy Fair, but still a lot of fun. BZPower Blog Assistant Kohaku was there, and while LEGO did not have an official presence, there were still some things for LEGO fans to see. Read on to check out his report and pictures.

There's good news for Hero Factory fanatics and MOCists alike, as high resolution images of the Winter HF show up on a German toy site. The images, as shown in BZP Member Mesonak's Brickshelf gallery, depict a team of sleek heroes, equipped for their latest mission, and the villains they are up against. Cool looking sets with interesting pieces, (is that a little teal I spy?) these sets do not disapoint.

Here's a special deal to get you into the holiday spirit from LEGO Shop. If you spend more than $99 or £50, you receive a free limited edition Christmas set, as seen here. On top of that, you would also get free shipping and double rewards points for your purchase. But if you're interested in this deal, you better hurry; the offer ends October 31st.

In another fantastic display of technical prowess and Lego-based engineering, Mike Dobson and David Gilday build Cubesolver II, the Rubik's Cube-solving robot able to knock more than three tenths of a second off the fastest human time. Powered by a Samsung Galaxy S2 smartphone and four Mindstorms NXT units, the robot can complete a fully-scrambled cube in a mere 5.35 seconds. Click to see it in action.
