  1. Bouncers are a pretty rare species. A Bouncer Jedi, even more rare. Really rare. There are dozens of other species that are available. And I like having only one Pillow of the Jedi. It's a bit arbitrary, but we don't really need a flock of bouncers.Basically... I'd be very reluctant to approve another Bouncer Jedi.
  2. IC (Falleen Jedi): The Falleen clapped. "Very well done, very well done indeed, Ze'Taki." He once again adjusted the knobs on his blasters, holstering one, and offering the other to the Shi'ido initiate, handle first. "I'd like you to try shooting with one these. It's got quite a kick, so you'll want to hold it with two hands. Firing one-handed isn't something a beginner should try. It doesn't work well. Helps keep your aim steady. Being out on the battlefields, you never know when you might need to put a bit of range between you and the enemy." He pressed a button on a small control in his other hand. Five training remotes floated from chutes that opened up in the floor. "You probably haven't been trained in the use of one of these. But, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Follow your instincts, pace your shots, and take the time to steady yourself. Otherwise you'll end up missing your target completely." The remotes began to circle about the initiate, before shooting to the other end of the room."The remotes will be firing on you, so I suggest you dodge, try to find the time to stop, center yourself and aim, and don't freeze up when your first shots miss." The Falleen nodded at the remotes. "Oh, and no lightsaber."
  3. Nightsisters and nightbrothers have been integrated into the Sith. They do have different specialisations though. Anshar has learned a couple of their spells. Zabrak... +2
  4. Basilisk, are you ready to handle Talzin? If so, feel free to timeskip the Renaissance to the next day, so Alex doesn't have to keep Lu'o in whatever frantic state of unconsciousness she's in right now.
  5. To add to Ymper's excellent statement above.Really, respect for one another is something I'd recommend regardless of a person's staff status. It's a healthy lifestyle and attitude to have. Out interactions can be playful, outrageous, and even Eldritch-invoking threatening. As long as there's an underlying attitude of respect.I'm currently busy, a CIS government summary will be coming when I get back home.
  6. The Black Ruru was a piece I felt long outstayed its welcome. On a more weapony level, I think the Takanuva blade was used quite a bit. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was overused, but it got a little old after a while.
  7. Lavama, it's not dissimilar from how you would use your library. For general "public-access" documents, one could go to a nearby computer terminal and plug in what they're looking for on the computer. It would then tell you where to go. For more important documents (say, something that a Youngling would have no business accessing), one would have to approach a mobile terminal (e.g. an archive droid) which would retrieve the specific document for them. Other documents would only be available to read "in-house." So the droid would collect them, dump them on a desk in a separate room for your character to read. Still other documents would be extremely sensitive, only accessible by experienced and skilled Jedi, and they would be supervised by another Jedi (Yttro or one of the other librarians) during reading/access. There would be different levels of access, different documents. The Jedi Archives are basically a library of everything. Things range from holocrons and documents (like basic saber instruction tips) open to the public, to ancient Sith holocrons locked away in nigh-impregnable vaults and guarded day and night. As for Delta-07, there have been clones numbering in the trillions. The achievements of one sniper in the early days of the war have been eclipsed. As far as I'm concerned, he's most likely dead. ---Heading to work, so I won't be able to post until my break.
  8. Dramatic tension is something like a pressure cooker meal. Give it time, and it can be positively delicious. Any potential Ragnos resurrection plot won't be something that is thrown together and pushed out over a few days. Preparation and simmering is the name of the long game. A Ragnos plot is too good to be an instant ramen kind of meal. The meat will be harvested, prepared meticulously.
  9. Thanks for the recap, Ymper! Now, pardon me while I Happy Evil my way away (who needs Drano when you can be Happy Evil instead? It's like Sigur Ros meets Sidious).
  10. Anyways, your Ragnos resurrection idea has intrigued me (the story potential... on a character level and greater level isn't bad at all. Almost as good as a Bouncer Jedi <3). PM me about it, and let's talk. I will be giving a bit of a revelation about the political power structure in the CIS (it might help a bit). It's fairly democratic. But that will wait until tomorrow. I have an early morning and lots of legislation to go over at work tomorrow.
  11. Oh no... I think Basilisk just tried to abort Lev's character concept. D: Ahhh, yes. Shuhei. The disguise machine is probably a holoshroud. I believe we saw it used several times in The Clone Wars and in a Boba Fett novel of dubious canonicity (conflicting canon confuses me). No objections to it. My main issues come with his Force Skills and lightsaber skills. You said he's a lightsaber instructor who prefers the lightsaber. Essentially, a future Blademaster type guy. Generally, blademasters aren't quite as skilled in the Force as other Jedi. Due to the amount of time they spend training with the blade. If he's had training in all seven forms, how skilled is he with each form? More importantly, the list of Force Skills. I appreciate your detail. But it's really, really wide. I've struck through the ones that would be a bit OP with his lightsaber skills, or those that wouldn't really make sense considering the time he'd spend in training with the saber. My comments are in bold. To me, it looks like you're not exactly sure where you want to go with this character, in terms of abilities. If he's a Jar'Kai-using physical duelist, it seems odd that he'd have the time, or the aptitude to lear how to rip things to shreds with telekinesis, make Force explosions, and do other cool stuff. These are all specialized areas of Force use, and take a lot of time to master effectively. To paraphrase Bruce Lee, "Fear the guy who has practiced one kick a thousand times, rather than the guy who has practiced a thousand kicks." @ Winston - I like the cook. But if you could specify his science skills a little more (psychology, biology, anatomy, or cheesemaking?), that would be excellent.
  12. Revan had the benefit of being a hero of the Republic when he turned to the Sith, and took over a third of the Republic military with him when he left. He also (spoilers) ran into a terrifying immortal Sith Emperor. and found a freaking amazing Rakatan artifact. Scitus' Sith has started with a less awesome hand. They started by gleaning information from old holocrons, learning what they could. Their side in the war, is currently relatively cash-strapped and can't make more than a few thousand droids at a time from a few factories (to put this into perspective, the CIS at the height of the Clone Wars had an army that numbered in the quintillions, outnumbering GAR by at least 100 to 1). The CIS is in shambles. Their navy is far from uniform. The main thing they have going for them is that no one knows where they're based. Why else would the current Sith be based on ships?Since they're currently so down, I'm hoping that they'll be able to go up a bit in this game. Scitus and his Cabal are pretty desperate (because really, who wouldn't want to see the Jedi Order slaughtered to the last youngling while the Temple burns in the background). No option will be thrown off the table. On the note of old Sith spirits, they're out there. Quite a few. And more than a few have been contacted by the new order (believe it or not, the Old Sith are more receptive to Scitus' incarnation of the Sith Order than some of the Banite spirits). And the new order isn't arrogant enough to think that it can discard every bit of knowledge from the Old Sith. They'd just rather not open up the infighting, backstabbing, and general betraying that many Sith seem to be prone to (it's just not practical to kill each other when there are so many more Jedi). A fractured Sith Order, even one backed by knowledge from powerful spirits, would not be good for the new Sith's greater purpose. I'm hoping this game continues for the long haul, so I won't rule out introducing familiar faces like Marka Ragnos, Exar Kun, XoXaan, and even Ludo Kressh. Xendor, sadly is gone (I think he hit his spirit expiry date). And I consider Tulak Hord's skills to be slightly overestimated. Kyle Katarn and his beard under a beard would crush him. Anyways... If you have ideas, toss them around in discussion. Some of the ones here have excellent story potential. If you think an idea is particularly good (like a Bouncer Jedi <3) shoot them to me and let's iron out kinks, see if it fits. The thing about being Happy Evil is that I'm essentially utilitarian. Maximizing happiness for a maximum number of people. And lots of evil on the side. >: DDDD
  13. So, reading this, I think I've come to the conclusion that Ymper is Lawful Evil, and Basilisk is probably Neutral Evil (I can't tell whether he wants to advance humanity into a race of cyborgs, or feed them to his Shoggoths and make a bed). Which leaves me as the Happy Evil one. I love the discussion about the old Sith. And I will state this...Revan was the best. Just the best. Sith, Jedi, amnesiac. I will continue this on a computer. So my thumbs don't die.
  14. Oh noes, the Trentin and her pirate pal escaped! D: Too bad a pocket commlink is too weak to transmit in hyperspace.
  15. Burn.More importantly, it's a profile that can be improved. If you have a particular direction you're going, you can PM one of the staffers. Or some of the experienced fellow RPers here. I'm sure that they'll have some wonderful input.
  16. If you're feeling writer's block, you can always brainstorm a WIP with some amigos. Rest assured, you won't be needing a new character after we're done remaking Harrisun... >: DDDD
  17. Shuhei, you have almost no mention of his Force abilities. More detail would be a necessity before I give it approval. If he's a lightsaber instructor, does he teach only younglings, or does he tutor Padawans on the side? (If he teaches younglings, knowledge of Shii-Cho would be a plus).Moreon his description would be good. What kind of clothing does he wear? Is he tall? Does he have odd bulges on his forehead like some male Twi'leks? What's his chin like?
  18. IC (Falleen Jedi):The Falleen smoothly shifted his stance, the bolt bouncing into the floor. He was practically beaming. "Excellent. Excellently done. Good reflexes." He shifted his stance and tapped his foot on the ground. Row upon row of disc-like holographic projections shone against the wall. Most were an indigo blue. One stood out, larger than the rest, shining crimson red.Raxoriz grinned and raised the blaster in a salute. "Now, we need to train your deflection skills and accuracy. The weakness of Form III is that its aim is deflection. Form V is better, because it teaches deflection with a purpose. Rather than carelessly letting an enemy's shots bounce all over a crowded alley or trench, it teaches you to strike back."He gestured to the red disc. " I want you to deflect my shots into the red disc. Don't hit any of the blue discs. The red one will move about the wall, amongst the other discs, and you'll find that it shrinks. Ready?" He raised his pistols again, firing a flurry of shots at Ze'Taki when she indicated she was prepared.OOC: Heading out now, won't be able to post for much of the evening. Omega'd, I'll let you play out the test for Ze'Taki, and Raxoriz will give an eval when I get back. The red disc will move around, shrink in size, get faster and multiply. It's almost like some kind of Wii game.Expect a new character soon. IC (Lancer Squadron): From the surface of Coruscant came a group of eight fighters. Nimble TIE fighters, piloted by a group of veteran clone pilots. They were en route to return to the Lance, only to find that the Arquitens cruiser was gone, and a Gozanti cruiser in place. It didn't take a genius to put two and two together. Lancer Squadron seamlessly shifted into a loose formation and began to fire at the Gozanti. The kriffers would pay for the lives of their clone brethren.
  19. IC (Falleen Jedi): "Ah, you're a Shi'ido. How excellent. The Force gives us different gifts. I, for instance, have been blessed with an aptitude for mind tricks. Falleen pheromones and whatnot." The Jedi nodded and touched his goatee for a moment, as if in thought, and waved away the cameradroid. It whirred out the door. "Well, truth be told, Ze'Taki, most of the opponents you face in the field will not be lightsaber wielders." The immaculately groomed Falleen withdrew his hands into the folds of his cloak. "Most of the time, whether infiltrating the underbelly of Coruscant, investigating the streets of Nar Shaddaa, or fighting against the Separatists on some far-flung world-"He drew forth two DL-44 blasters, and began to fiddle with nobs on each pistol. "You're gonna end up going against an opponents armed with ranged weapons, like blasters. Blasters are used by droids, bounty hunters, CIS soldiers, criminals, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. So-" He spun the blaster pistols in his hands. "In the right hands, their lethal potential is even greater than a lightsaber. Even an ancient weapon like a lightsaber can end up being useless against an opponent with a keen eye and a good blaster at his side. I'm glad to hear you've focused on Form V's classical variant.""These are customized DL-44 heavy blaster pistols. Gorgeous weapons, highly accurate, and with a standard magazine of 50 shots each." Raxoriz hefted the two heavy blaster pistols. "I've lowered the power setting, so they'll only sting a little if you aren't able to block them. Like this."The Falleen fired a single shot at Ze'Taki. If she was worth any salt, she'd be able to get her lightsaber out and deflect the bolt.
  20. FYI (re- an upcoming post relating to the Coruscant chase) everyone should know that Wilhuff Tarkin is considered a hero of the Republic. He's done some pretty amazing stuff against the CIS, and his record indicates that he's stopped more than one CIS superweapon threat against the Republic.
  21. IC (Coruscant): The Lance was burning, internal explosions rocking the vessel. A larger explosion occurred, visible from the surface, as the light cruiser's payload of assault concussion missiles went off, scattering bits of the Arquitens about like autumn leaves in the wind. IC (Falleen Jedi): The Falleen smiled, then laughed. "You are good with a lightsaber, are you, Ze'Taki? What forms do you specialize in?" He smiled and clipped his lightsaber back onto his belt. "I'm a Knight. I might be willing to give you a less formal test."
  22. Hmmm... A skullblade is a pretty heavy-looking weapon. Aggressive looking. You could probably adapt tactics from Form V if you want.
  23. OOC: I feel such warm fuzzies when I read Kaal ICs. IC (Falleen Jedi): The Falleen looked at the smoking training droid. "Ah, Ze'Taki well, this room did not seem to have any apparently booking, so I slipped in to train with the droid. I was wondering why its setting was so low." He glanced up a smaller camera-droid, which was floating via a repulsor. "I fear I may have ruined your test. My most sincere apologies, youngling."The tall Jedi looked down at her. "My name is Vendax Raxoriz. Is there any way I can repay you for the inconvenience?"
  24. Oh my word. That is a completely different ad. It's almost chilling to see how much things have changed. That being said, I have no issue with the diversity of weapons and faces that are now popular. I remember drawing angry eyebrows on my blank smiley face system pieces ages ago.
