  1. eh idk stuff is going slow at the moment, and I really miss my summer holidays. Starting work in June sucks. ;D On a more serious note, thought I'd update you on the Gouache. I am still struggling. So. Hard. But here's a sunflower I painted (click here for slightly larger version): though admittedly, without references or anything. Just what I think a sunflower might look like. ^^' because I was so out of ideas... idk. I still have a hard time achieving the effects I want, because obviously gouache and coloured pencils dont behave similarly at all.

  4. ... and because I said I'd put it here, it's what I do now. ^^ Nothing big, just a monochromatic thingie to work out how my watercolours behave. And it's okay I guess? Might have chosen a less intense shade of blue, but overall I'm okay with it. And my scanner really hates the watercolour paper. Ah well. -- Haha thanks, maybe I will. (or make an evern better sketch, who knows ^^') Glad the mask is recogniseable! This time I did look up the set before/while drawing it, as opposed to my usual "I'll just draw what I remember from ~5 years ago, who cares..." ^^ Huh, Lesovikk.. Guess I'd have to look him up again, i't been such a long time. o.o Thanks again!
  5. Thanks! It was fun to draw. That was the idea Glad you like it! ^^ ------ E: of course, today's the day I want to post some art as well ^^' might as well add it in here, then. Just some preparatory Hahli Mahri sketches for a small watercolour thing I want to try. (and will also put here once it's done). Ultimately I decided to do the profile view because watercolour's a fairly new medium to me, so I want the motive to note be overly complicated, at least.

  7. can't wait to produce proper work - eeeh, atm it's still all very... experimental. ^_^' But thanks, I'll keep you updated!
  8. ... because my finger is still not alright again, and using coloured pencil just seems to straun that one joint so much it actually hurts. Regular drawing doesn't, though, and neither does painting. So I guess I'm doing that for now? Started working with gouache and watercolour, and that's so much different to my usual approach that it is rather intimidating. but hey, I still fill a sketchbook page per day, so that's a plus.

      Ahh I'm so sorry :(

  10. Really love the style of the drawing, the texture of the scanned pencil drawing works really well with the colouring. Looks cool!
  11. nothing much has happened, apart from me starting my PhD studies So technically a lot has happened since the last update, but at the same time I am underwhelmed. Also because a lot of puzzle pieces are still missing. Like my work contract :3 buut I've got my insurance and I'll also get paid, so.... it's okay, I guess. In the meantime I'll read up on stuff and start looking into the programming parts. Can't say I'm unhappy.
  12. *still* alive! :D

  13. New artwork! click thumbnail above or follow this link I basically just wanted to see what my oldest character ever would look like in her current iteration - and just for once, in colour. Because yes, I am still sticking to the old colour cheme from who-knows-when-probably-2009. Colouring was done in coloured pencils, sadly some things from other pages sort of... show up for some reason. Inking was done with a brush pen, and the background is an ink wash. It took me a while to complete this, mainly because I waited forever in between the inking and colouring stages, because I really didn't want to mess it up.

    stressful week

bureaucracy galore. Can't say I'm a fan. On the contrary - it stresses me out way too much, that's definitely something I need to work on. At least my finger is almost okay again (dunno if I mentioned that, I overstrained it when studying for that final exam. Because the only way I remember stuff is by writing it down... ;n; ) - and I am pretty much done with my sketchbook. Before half of the year is over. Achievement! Now I just need to scan some of it as well ^^'
