Remember how last year, during my spring break, I had a pretty bad fever?

Well after a few days of minor sickness, I got a fever today. It happens to be the week before a break from school, too. I may have to miss the last two days of school depending on how I feel, but I hope nothing major happens since the semester is ending this Friday and finals finished today.

At least those art supplies I ordered are here to keep me company... and my DSi (aaaaah I want a 3DS for Pokemon).

That's what I said to myself as I started down a spiral of madness in trying to recruit a single soccer player in the Inazuma Eleven: Firestorm DS game I got for Christmas.

His name's Aphrodi and he's a fantastic player. To recruit him, I had to beat him in two soccer battles (4 on 4).
Except these battles were 25 second battles where I had to score a three goal lead in each. Consecutively, so if my party was in a poor condition after the first battle, too bad.

And I must have battled him at least 20 times?? I had to do some super tough training before going back and trying again, this time with higher success rates.
But at least twice, I missed the chance to recruit him by one little goal. Just... one... aaaa

But I finally did it earlier today. But it was one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had... But I finally have Aphrodi on my team. Anything is possible. :')
Except I heard there's one player that you can only recruit after three of these kinds of matches... and sadly that's my favorite character so I have to go through that experience again soon...

in other news I just saved $63 on art supplies

Yesterday, I submitted the last of my applications to college. It was difficult and stressful, but I'm glad that I have the whole process over with! Although I don't really feel free, because senior year workload is putting pressure on me. But hey, at least I have one less thing to worry about.

Hopefully I'll get into the schools I selected, especially my top choices. Right after submitting my application, I feel a bit nervous about it all, but I know I'll be able to set aside those thoughts until I get an email or envelope with my results.

I cut the fingertips off a pair of gloves, so that I have an easier time doing things like typing or using a touchscreen. Behold the result.

Jokes aside, it's not as practical as complete gloves in keeping my hands warm. At one point with the fingerless gloves, my fingertips started hurting because of how cold they were... They felt completely frozen. So at the moment, I interchange between the two types of gloves I have. Sometimes I have one kind on one hand, and another kind on the other. My right hand also doesn't wear a glove when I'm drawing or writing.

What with the infamous hurricane Sandy hitting the east coast, schools are closed tomorrow in my area, and for at least two days in parts of surrounding states. Transportation has been shut down here as well, along with other facilities. There have been evacuations as well, though thankfully I don't live in an evacuation zone.

So I hope every one of you living along Sandy's path stays safe!

I have a reputation among my friends for having ridiculously cold hands all the time. I just have to poke them and they go crazy over how cold I am.

And my hands are even colder when I'm at home, so my mom is actually letting me wear gloves inside the house (well, not when eating and all that, but otherwise yeah) so that my hands don't feel like they're frozen.

So right now I'm wearing these really fancy blue gloves over my hands. My mom offered to let me wear these old gloves that are like 70 years old, but I declined... they were much too nice...
I'll be using these other gloves soon, from my childhood, on which I can cut the fingertips off so that it'll be easier to type.

Either way, this glove thing is working a bit. My hands still feel cold but it's not as bad. So yaaay.

sometimes I wonder why this is called a "daily" rant and I will wonder about that in every entry

But I attended NYCC over the weekend, and had the chance to see the ever wonderful Kohaku!

Lots of money was spent, mostly on anime merch/art and cute things, and then there's the free stuff I managed to get. Now I have one mess of a desk to deal with for a long time as I hold off on organizing it...

    four-day weekend~~
Wow, so I completely forgot about BZP as soon as school started earlier this September (even though I don't really do anything on here already). Sorry guys!

I was suprised at how much school and the college application process has swamped me in just half a month, alongside having hobbies and a social life. I haven't even decided what schools I want to apply to and I already feel stressed about the process! A "welcome to senior year" for me, I guess.
I also fell sick in the past week. Just a cold, but it's not helping me out at all.
On the bright side, my gigantic Art History textbook helped me grow some muscle in my arms as I carried it home the other day. ^^

I'm also still obsessed with magical soccer anime, but I'm sure none of you actually needed to know that.

    T-shirts for a buck each,
Slacks and skirts for 5 bucks each,
and I snagged the Lord of the Rings soundtrack for 2 bucks (I could have even gotten the DVDs for $3 each, but I already own them).

    Life is good.

What have I been doing with my life recently? Besides an internship, I've been watching the Inazuma Eleven anime.

I never would have thought that adorable kids who play crazy soccer would make me feel such strong emotions of joy and sadness. It's so many episodes and the sequel is ongoing, but that's good because I don't want to stop watching this beautiful and fun show.

also Brickfair is soon but haha I've barely prepped for it
I'm coming in kind of late anyways, so oh well. I just have to be prepared to have fun as soon as I step into the convention center~

I'm not going to bombard you guys with a million photos from Boston, MA and Long Island, NY (I went there about a week after Boston?). I'm too lazy to even sort through and crop/resize them all for internet purposes. But I will pick some silly or pretty shots as highlights.

Boston was a fun city, though the public transportation system could be better. I visited four colleges, and Tufts University and Northeastern University stood out the most to me (the other two were Boston University and Boston College).

At Tufts University, I spotted this bird. A hawk I think?? But let's look at its face:

Also spotted at Tufts was this neat sculpture.

At a Boston seafood restaurant, our waiter showed off a huge live lobster. The restaurant was right by the water, where this island could be seen floating.

And finally, I brought home a new friend.

In Long Island, I really only went for the beach. We stayed at an aquaintance's house, which had cool bathroom windows that I made a composition with.

The beach was actually part of Sunken Meadow Park. Here are some landscape shots: 1 2 3
There was wildlife too. A dragonfly that could barely fly, bunnies!, and seagulls.
We had coffee at the park as a form of picnic, and we drank from these cups. Odessa is where I was born (in Ukraine).

And that wraps up my travels so far! My next destination is Brickfair!
Yesterday morning I also took pictures of my anime figures - Madoka and Luka Megurine.

Tomorrow I depart for Boston for three days. It's just a trip to check out a few of the universities in Boston with my Saturday program peers, but I've been meaning to visit Boston at some point in my life and thus I am really excited to explore it once we're done with colleges.
I'll bring my camera, but I'm one of those people who gets so caught up in a place that I forget to take pictures. I'm especially bad at this when it comes to conventions (I was recently at AnimeNext. The result? Zero photos...). But I will do my best this time! maybe

Off topic: I've also developed a love for General Iroh (from Legend of Korra) after that finale. He is just amazing *u*

I got a fever. How exciting!

But in actual good news, my friend lent me her PSP for the break so that I could play Persona 3 Portable. I'll be all over the place during this break but hopefully I can play a good chunk of the game, at least. *v*

It's said that it'll be around 98 degrees here by noon or so.

It's not even noon and I'm melting in my room (fun fact: my room is the only one without air conditioning).

I hope none of you guys are melting, whereever you are.

    yessss I am actively blogging
    sort of

Tomorrow's the last day of school before Spring Break and you guys have no idea how excited I am to get out of school for a while. *v*

....On the other hand, I do have to do a ton of research for a US History paper due in May. And by a ton, I mean 50 index cards of notes. Fun.
I'll also be going on a mini-college road trip, to upstate and maybe in a bordering state, courtesy of my Saturday program. I'm not too interested in the colleges we will be visiting, but maybe that will change. I just need to overcome to huge wave of carsickness that I will likely experience over those few days.

In any case, I hope I get to relax a little. :>

wow this hasn't been updated in three months

In any case, I got a new computer monitor for my birthday. And it's fabulous [max]. Rather, more fabulous than my previous tiny, dirtied, white monitor. Even all my programs have yet to adjust themselves to the new resolution.
    It's just wonderful. ;_;

I'd like to wish everyone on BZP a happy holiday season, and a Merry Christmas if you celebrate it! Stay warm, stay safe, stay happy~

Alternatively, I got some wonderful gifts for Christmas. First, and most special, is a netbook/laptop/whateveryouwannacallit. It's going to be extremely useful to me. Plus, Windows 7 is a big upgrade from my terrible Windows XP home computer...
    Other fun stuff:
    - Madoka Kaname figma (action figure)
    - Dinosaur Pillow Pet
    - a cheap Pokeball
    - Collectible minifigs
    - calendars (but really cool calendars - Alice in Wonderland and Propaganda)
    - clothes??
    - cool stuff my brother got was the Blacksmith Attack set, the card game Munchkin, and Captain America on DVD

    and the food was delicious

Also I have not blogged in a while apparently?

I finally finished reading the books, and it was a fantastic adventure.

I'm just disappointed that I read through the last two books in three days. Although fast reads are exciting, I wish they had lasted longer.

My internet at home is back!

And apparently faster than it was at my old apartment.

So that means it's time to catch up on whatever I missed~
  20. Disky
So I have been dead the past week or two because of the moving... my house hasn't had internet. I expect to get it back tonight, but who knows.

But right now, I would like you all to provide me with some nice prophecies. Yesterday during a fire drill at school, my friend and I discussed how random numbers like to call our cell phones. Sometimes it's an advertisement, or a bunch of beeps, or actual humans. So we decided that if an actual person that we don't know calls us, we would tell them a random prophecy.

Lo and behold, a random person actually called me five minutes later on the drill. So, rather rushed, my friend told me to say "The sky will fall." So I did.

But I need much more awesome prophecies for next time. Make them up, take them from pop culture (Bionicle prophecies? The best.), whatever.

My family is in the process of moving this weekend, from the 2nd floor of our apartment building to the 5th. Pointless? Nope, the space is larger for my family (two bedrooms instead of one) and I get my own room.

    my own room

But yes, this will be a tiring weekend. Dx
