We watched this movie today in art class instead of having a final exam. My teacher said that she chose to watch this because of all the interesting design used throughout.

And it was beautiful. Just beautiful.

Today everyone was expecting a snow day, where we get off from school, or at least a two-hour delay. Well, neither of those happened. Some people who lived extremely far away or were just lazy didn't come at all, a bunch came late, and everyone who came in general felt depressed because they got worked up for nothing.

And so, I have Italian first period, and by the end of the period only a total of ten students came to class. We sat in a little circle and worked on a small packet to review for our final. It was really fun - we were all close, it was easy to ask questions, and we got a few good laughs out of the situation.
I've never been a class so small and now I wish a lot of my classes were like that. I see the advantage in small classes now.
The rest of my classes had at least 20 students present.

Oh an one girl who came into Italian halfway through the class announced she had candy for everyone, since we didn't have a snow day and she wanted to make us all happier. D'aw.

(well, my computer decided to restart itself while I was writing this entry the first time)

Tangled was a lovely film. Beautiful music as well, combined with animations and romance.

But... Rapunzel's hair didn't really get tangled much during the movie, with all that action and wilderness around her... How does she manage all that hair and brush it so smoothly every time?

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! For the rest, I hope you're having a swell day as well.

Here is what I received, excluding delicious chocolate:
Pandora Hearts artbook (Odds & Ends) - <3 I love this. Good references, pretty pictures, fangirling, etc. Bento box - This one's Totoro themed. My lunch will be awesome now. Maus second volume - Excellent books. Interesting art too, and a nice metaphor for different groups of people all throughout the book. Mechanical pencils - Yessss. And these are really good kinds of mechanical pencils. Leg warmers - ahuh
Some other minor things and clothes aren't on this list, but yeah. I'm happy nonetheless.

Now what to do during this winter break...

So today was the last day of school for the year 2010, and my entire school was in a very festive mood. Paper snowflakes decorated the school, food was everywhere, gifts were everywhere, people dressed fancy, the band and choir walked around the school playing music and singing, and half of the student body (exaggerated?) were wearing Santa hats.

However! A freshman in my Chemistry class wasn't wearing a Santa hat. She was wearing a pirate's hat.

    *thumbs up*

Since it's winter, I'll ask everyone a question: Do you like snow? Or do you absolutely love it? Or do you hate it so much that you go out into the streets with a battery-powered hair dryer or something to melt all the snow down?

I personally like how snow looks, and how soft and clean it is when it first settles. I also like catching individual flakes in my gloves to see what they look like~
But I hate being out in the heavy snowfalls when the snow and wind are practically slapping my face. >__>

I just can't seem to get used to the English names for the starters and the region in Pokemon Black & White. But then, when the game comes out, watch me be all cool with them. Just watch. xP

As a refresher, the Isshu region as we had known it is Unova in English, Tsutarja (grass) is Snivy, Pokabu (fire) is Tepig (the pig!), and Mijumaru (water) is Oshawatt.

Apparently stores and the television and advertising think that we can still go shopping and get deals... this Black Friday.

Not all of us can time travel, you know. :<

How come when you run out of Pokemon in a battle and hence lose, why do you black out for that one moment?

And when you lose to a wild Pokemon, how do you just 'drop' a set amount of money (if I recall correctly that's what happens)? Shouldn't a trainer be more careful with their cash?

I saw Megamind today, and it was great. I enjoyed it ^^

Also got Pokemon Platinum today, just for fun. It's cool so far.

So there's some food I don't eat often or just haven't eaten the past few days that I want to eat.
    Cheetos
    Pasta
    Mashed potatoes
    Pineapple
    Mushroom soup
    Crispy dried apples
    Chocolate
    Reese's cups
    YOU

Today was pretty awesome. School was half-day, and everyone was in costume. As an update to how my costume came out, the hair was insanely random and failed to properly spike. But it was still nice. :3 My friend also lent me her faaaaat Pikachu to use and "capture" with my Eevee.

A highlight of the day in school was a peer from middle school, from the drama department, dressing as my History teacher. He taught the class for the day, and my teacher was in such conflict while watching himself being accurately depicted and seeing his flaws and quirks. xD

My friend from Texas visited and dressed as the 4th Doctor. She knitted the scarf herself (she's making me one too), and she knitted the sweater herself, and she sewed the coat herself. She is amazing.

Another one of my friends dressed as a Rubik's Cube that you could actually spin, but only the top two parts.

After school, we went to Build-A-Bear (my first time going), and it was really fun. They had dinosaurs to dress up! I also took a little soft heart from there that will give to someone who is amazing.

Later, there was just myself and the Texan friend and her dad, and we went to art museum and freaked people out while looking at art. One bust in the Greek and Roman art section looked like Voldemort. No lie. It really really creeped me out. The description for it was simply "bust of a man" or something like that, but that's not the truth.

Friend and I cried when we had to part ways though.

Overall, I am satisfied and extremely tired. I will edit this post with some pictures later tonight or tomorrow afternoon (wow, I actually took some!), especially of Voldemort.

EDIT: Added two pictures. I would add more, but I have to see if other friends have better images than I do. Especially of the Fourth Doctor outfit.

I was just out and bought myself a nice, long brunette wig. What for?

My cosplay of Green, of course. Probably next weekend, I'm going to cut and style the wig. However, does anyone have any suggestions for how to get something like his hair? Anything would be helpful, more so if it's inexpensive.

I watched the movie Red today. Not a lot of people in the theater despite it being opening weekend, but the theater was larger than most. The movie itself was a wild ride, had both humor and action. I enjoyed it~

So NYCC/NYAF was pretty fun. I also got to see Kohaku again, though he looks a bit different from when I saw him at Brickfair.

    Behold.

He's also representing Capcom and Megaman here.

All in all, a good time. My [small amount of] loot: Signed Dr. McNinja comic book, Vocaloid figurine (while it was a random surprise one, I got this thing that looks like Meiko only with blonde hair o__O), Watchmen pin, and a Seaking-related pin. Also attended a fun Durarara!! panel where I got to see the first clips of the show in English dub.

Well, New York Comic Con and Anime Fest is this weekend, and tomorrow (Saturday), I'll be attending. I'm pretty excited. Also, three-day weekend B)

Buuuut it's time to give some short coverage on the Medieval Festival in my neighborhood, which happened last Sunday. I didn't get to go last year, but this year it worked out. And I'm happy indeed, except for one thing...

The pickle man wasn't there. Every year, there's this guy who dresses like a pirate and has a barrel of pickles. He's amazing, albeit a slightly strange personality, and I was really disappointed that he wasn't here this year.

    Moving on

The Medieval Fest was pretty fun, especially since I was with three friends pretty much the whole time. I had fried dough with strawberries and sugar powder for lunch (yum) and later a little bit of popcorn. There were these giant turkey legs, AKA mutten (one or two t's?) that almost everyone at the festival who wasn't vegetarian were eating. Well, except me.

There was jousting several times during the day, but I only got to see the conclusion by climbing (in my long skirt) onto the tall bleachers and holding onto the railing to look over at the field. I managed to get this picture at the very end.
Later on, people fought each other in skirmishes. I later learned that this called Human Chess, and I didn't get it, but oh well. It was entertaining.

At the same field, they had these trapeze dancer people who performed on a structure of ribbon, and I thought that was amazing. They also demonstrated a real whip by cutting up some roses.

There were unicorns, a large one and smaller pony one.

A wizard, possibly Gandalf, made an appearance as well!

Swords and other weaponry were sold at the event. I would have picked one up, but they weren't going to let someone under 18 handle such beautiful (or rather, sharp) things. Other vendors sold various jewelry for the most part, incense, cool gems and stones, pottery, and more. I obtained a smokey quartz crystal and this pretty thing.

Throughout the event, you could also find various performers, ranging from singers to bagpipe players.

And, finally, we end on a punny note.

So I've been keeping up with the new Pokemon season, Best Wishes. Good stuff, but the narrator claims that Ash (or Satoshi, call him what you want) is ten years old. Still. And it's common knowledge that everyone has been complaining about that for years.

But is Ash the only guy that has truly achieved eternal youth?

During this week, two packages came, and both have stuff I will be using on Halloween for my Green outfit (which I did get pants for).

The first package came on Monday, and had a Pokeball that contained a random figurine. Exceeept the Pokeball is a tad bit small, and doesn't open like you'd expect it to. You just take off the top part. And the figurine inside, a Pikachu, is smaller than the traditional Pokemon figurine. For comparison, my Suicune figurine can't fit inside the Pokeball.

The second package came today, and contained a plush Eevee. It's head is so big and the Eevee itself it so tiny and cute. I love it~

Hopefully I can provide some pics soon. Not this weekend though - Friday is a blitz to finish all my homework for the weekend (hopefully not a lot), Saturday is a retreat upstate the whole day into the night, and Sunday is the Medieval Festival in my neighborhood. <3

So you see, my brother has this sheet of passwords from back in like 2002 or 2003 that he hasn't used in years. It wasn't just passwords, though - he also wrote down site URLs to remind him of them in case he wanted to check them out or look up something on them.

So I was reading said sheet, and I noticed that he wrote "www.bzpower.com" on it.

I was like, "Whoa," and then I showed him, and he was like, "Whoa." (he knows of my antics on BZP, but has no idea when he wrote the URL down)

A friend and I were thinking that for Halloween, especially since my school is having the annual Halloween Parade in their theater, that we should dress up as Red and Green (and by Green I mean Blue in English, not Blue's English name) from Pokemon, respectively. She has pretty good hair to be Red, and his outfit shouldn't be too hard. As for me, Green's outfit is also easy. But should I do his HG/SS look, or more of a Pokemon Adventures look? And the hair... I'll figure that out. Preferably without using anything weird to spike it.
I also need to find a Pokeball replica online or somewhere. My friend has a Pikachu plushie, so that'll serve as Pika.

My friend and I were alternatively thinking of doing Silver and Blue (Green in English), again respectively, but we decided the fans would like Red and Green more.

Well, my chemistry teacher changed today permanently. Instead of the one I mentioned last week from the first day of school, I now have a different one that I know slightly better (she supervised a club I was in last year). Apparently the two teachers randomly swapped classes. The exact reason is known.

Oh well, at least she's not seating us alphabetically unlike my other teachers. I'm always the absolute last person in the back corner because of my obscure name. ;_; Except in history - I was almost seated in the corner and my teacher asked me if the seat was okay, and I told him I couldn't see as well from there, so I'm closer up front now. And the sight thing is slightly true at least, though I've survived sitting in the back plenty of times in my life.

First day of school, finally! Tomorrow and Friday are days off for holiday, too. :3

Anyways, while I go through my schedule, I'll give some first impressions of the teachers and class. If you don't feel like reading impressions, you can just skim over my schedule. Oh, and I probably don't need to include the obligatory huggles and squeals that accompanied seeing friends and knowing that they're in my class.

First period is Italian 3. I'm kind of afraid that I've forgotten some possibly important Italian over the summer, moreso since the class will be taught almost entirely in Italian.

Second period is Global History (this is a two-year class, I already took the first year). I got bumped up into honors for this class, to my surprise. My teacher is a pretty funny guy, and since I like history, I hope this class will go well. I have a state exam on this subject at the end of the year, anyways.

Third period is English. And, to my surprise, I was bumped into honors for this class too. The teacher I have is new to the school, but he has plenty of teaching experience in general. And he's young, too. At least, younger than other teachers. He also looks and sounds almost exactly like my homeroom teacher, and they're two different guys. ._. We just spent the period analyzing a quote he wrote on the board. I have hopes for this class, though.

Fourth period is PE, and I only have this class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays this semester. My teacher seems nice enough, but we're not doing any workouts till next Wednesday. Today was a briefing, and Monday will be eye tests.

Fifth period is Algebra II/Trigonometry. This semester is just Algebra II stuff, next semester is Trig. And, lo and behold, I got bumped into honors for this class as well. On my schedule card there was a mess-up of the room number for the class, so we did quite a bit of moving around before finally going over what the class would be like.

Sixth period is lunch. 'Nuff said.

Seventh period is Chemistry. I barely know anyone in this class, and I dunno how good I'll do. I have a fine teacher, though. Besides, Dudebot will help me with Chem - right?

Eighth period is Basic Printmaking. A dangerous class! We'll be using fun sharp tools to carve and etch, and heavy pressing machinery, and ink that'll stain you to death! I know a lot of people in this class, and I had the teacher as a substitute a few times last year.

Ninth and tenth period is Studio Practice 3 - Graphic Design. My teacher claims we'll mostly be working with shapes and such. A lot of class time will also be spent in my school's new Mac computer lab for the art studio, and we'll have our artwork put up on a website for the class. This teacher is also the only one of mine that is using a nickname for me.

    Overall, good day and high hopes, except for the occasional sad reference to one of my friends who moved away over the summer. ;_;

So my mom dragged me to Old Navy to buy some clothes for school (which starts Wednesday). While in Old Navy, the amazing song Safety Dance started playing in the store. And I was dancing to it. 8D

However, no one else was dancing.

    Why wasn't anyone else dancing?
