The above quote block is my first ever entry, published on October 30th, 2008. Today is April 11th, 2010, a little more than a year and a half afterwards. At the time I first posted this, believed that I would stay with BZPower forever. Recently I have realized that this is not and cannot be the case.

From the moment I first glimpsed the homepage of this website, BZPower and I were bound together on my journey through life. I spent nearly every available waking hour intergrating myself into the wonderful community that we have here. I wrote stories, I posted discussions, I ran and played many RPGs. All the while BZPower was at the forefront. It was my life. It was here that I learned how to deal with complete strangers. It was here that I learned what it means to truly be part of a community.

But as Lazok so artfully put it, communities give back what they get. And if you don't give, niether do they. Those days where I gave my all to BZPower were some of the absolute best of my life. But over time, as things got darker and my path in life got narrower, I found myself able to give less and less. In return I recieved less and less. This website became more of an escape for me, a way to hide from my problems. It was no longer a community that I was actively involved in. So I moved on and so did BZPower.

There were spurts of activity now and then, but they always degenerated as the need for the escape slowly left. Once I had the need again, my activity resurged. But no matter how much I meant that I wanted to stay, deep inside, I always knew that I never could.

In truth I began seriously considering leaving this website back in October of 2009, when certain events in life led me to discover just how much I was using this website, and in turn the wonderful people I associated with, as a selfish crutch. I'm sorry people. I shouldn't have led you on like that.

Once I log off in just a few minutes after posting this, I will never log on again. I will not be on AIM. I will not answer emails. My RPG will be closed. It will be as if I never existed. But it will all be for the better. I need to be able to face my problems without hiding in these pixels. And face them I will.

I honestly don't know how many of you will read all of this but I'd like to say a few things to the members who made my stay here so enjoyable. Jedi Gali, you were my first friend here. Your words motivated me to be an active part of this community. Neya and Detranix, my Pikmin buddies. You guys are great. But remember that even though Olimar leaves the planet, he never forgets the people who saved him. The same, I will do for you.

Rockhound and Robo, you guys were my two best friends here. You are some of the most loyal people I have ever met, and I continue to hold you in high regard, even though you have already gone your separate ways. TPTI, Spink, and Necro, you always injected a voice of reason into some of the insanity. I thank you for that. EmperorWhenua, my liege. I think you'll be in need of a new ASPL. But I'll be there in spirit.

Alex Humva, Outbreak was the single best RPG experience I had on this site. You may be a little hard headed at times, but never ever think of yourself as a madman like Steven. You're much too good for that. Sisen, my co-miserator. We may have had a falling out recently, but I always remember you as one of the most understanding people I have met. Tafu, Kiotu, Toa of Dancing, and Rising Moon: thanks for trusting me.

Finally, I'd like to thank the Staff. These are some of the best people I have ever met, and this is the single greatest group of moderators I have seen. Your dedication continues to astound me, and I am honored to have worked with you.

And so I come to the end of the journey with you. I bid you farewell and good luck. Because although good friends come and go, good friendships last forever. And as pathetic as it may seem to say it, this website contains some of the best friendships I have ever had. Those will truly last forver.

Do something crazy, because what is life without a little insanity?

The time is NOW! We must unite in creative awesome against the evils of the Empress. On our side we have the powers of love and creativity. On theirs they only have darkness and chaos. No, this is not Lego Universe! This is real, and we must conquer!

This post will be the new headquarters for the rebellion. An organized force that is for peace and love. Our next step should be to assert dominion over the Creative Outlet, then we need to slowly extend our forces throughout the Incarnations. All is not lost yet! If you have any ideas for how we can crush the Empress, feel free to post here.

If you wish to declare yourself for the rebellion, sign your name here. Show them that not even Puffins can crush the might of BZPower, the might of the creative soul.

I'm setting aside this entry to say goodbye to one of BZPower's greatest roleplayers and a source of inspiration to me in that field. I'm definitely not one of the ones who knew him very well, that honor goes to others. I don't have much to say either, but I still feel like I can sincerely say farewell to a legend.

Goodbye Captain and may you find happiness in the path you have chosen.

The following letter is one of the few surviving relics of what is commonly referred to as the Post-Core-Conflict, the period of time directly following the shattering and a time of great unrest among the tribes. Great care has been taken to preserve this document in its original form. Archival notes have been added on a separate page in order to aid the reader with understanding the historical and cultural context of the missive.

I direct my epistle to Certavus in the city of Atero, who previously commanded the Legions of Ice and is now the supposed leader of the remnants of the tribes; for it is you that they look to for guidance in these times of despair.

It grieves me that I must write these words of condemnation unto you, for had we not all been brothers? But then came the Lords' War1. Each of us was commissioned to gather together warriors and arm them with swords, with spears, and with elements2 granted by the Lords. We marched forth against each other in conquest of the kill-silver3, the object of ultimate dominance.

Behold, we have suffered great afflictions. Not just myself, but all of the tribes. We have endured many things; hunger, thirst, fatigue. Great has been the slaughter among the peoples of Spherus Magna. We have never come so very close to extinction as we have merely three months ago.

Indeed, the very foundations of our world have been shaken to the core. Spherus Magna no longer exists. In its place has risen Bara Magna, a barren wasteland filled with the wandering souls of the lost.

You cannot deny these things, and yet you have the audacity to propose a plan so divisive that it will shatter the hearts and minds of a people that still mourn the loss of their culture? You say that this plan will save us. I ask you now, who will it save? It exiles those who may be beneficial to our society to a life of endless isolation and death in the cruel desert word.

You claim that the old, the weak, and the poor cannot contribute to reconstruction; but what about my people, the Sand Tribe? What of the Rock Tribe? You are fortunate that they have almost completely migrated north by now4, otherwise their rage would have been magnificent to behold. But my people still remain strong and courageous. We know the sand but we cannot survive like this for much longer. If forced out of our lands into an unknown territory, we may soon turn from fearless to feral.

Some of this can be seen already. Your “Glatorian Plan”5 has not united the people. In any case, it has splintered them even further. Warring factions and guilds vie for power on a daily basis. Land changes hands like a hot stone. The tribes are all but non-existent. There is no order, there is no peace, there is no civilization.

If you will not desist in this heinous scheme, I will be compelled to gather together my tribe and all those who will join us. We will march against you with great reluctance, but with the fire of justice in our hearts. You who sit comfortably in your cities cannot know what justice is.

Justice is what we desire when another brother falls to the earth. Justice is what we desire when we find another straggler, dragging his body along the ground and begging us for a morsel of food or drop of water. Justice is what we desire when we tell him that we cannot help him. Justice is what we desire when we see his tears fall like rain and he collapses in utter hopelessness.

Justice is what we will see when we, the exiled ones, paint your blood across the dunes and your corpse is devoured by the sand bats. Only then will justice be fulfilled.

Our world has shattered, our people have fractured, and our spirit is broken. We have but a fraction of greatness, but we have enough to see the true intentions of your heart.

I am Pertagna, Vorox6 of my tribe, and I send this message to Certavus. Hearken unto my words and depart from your destructive ways or we will descend upon you with fury and you will surely perish.

May the Great Beings have mercy on you. You who have shown no mercy to us.

-Pertagna, Vorox of the Sand Tribe and Commander of the Exiles.7

    Archival Notes:

    1. The term “Core War” developed centuries after the actual conflict. Until then it was commonly referred to as “the Lords' War”, “the Silver Struggle”, or “the War Between the Tribes”
    2. At the beginning of the Core War, the Element Lords granted limited elemental powers to the members of the tribes. The powers were contained in and accessed through the weapons that the soldiers carried. By the time of the Post-Core-Conflict, the power in the weapons had begun to weaken and dissipate.
    3. The layman's term for the mutative liquid that was the central focus of the Core War.
    4. Immediately following the Core War, the Rock Tribe mobilized and quickly migrated north into the wilderness. A few Rock Tribe members remained behind and were outcasts for the most part.
    5. The term “Glatorian Plan” was the collective name for a set of policies developed by Certavus, Ackar, and several other Core War veterans. The first step of the plan was to conserve resources by casting out anyone deemed to be non-productive to society into the desert. The next step would be to reorganize the tribes and construct arenas where they would settle disputes and thereby avoid war.
    6. “Vorox” was the highest title of honor among the Sand Tribe. It meant “honored leader” or “greatest warrior”. It did not develop a negative connotation for many more years.
    7. It is worth noting that Pertagna was killed in battle about two weeks later during an unsuccessful raid on Atero.

As noted by Spink in this entry, the wild Black Six has been spotted in its natural habitat for the first time in many many years. I took the liberty of snapping my own shot of this elusive creature that was previously thought to be extinct.

    Evidence.

We as a community must take it upon ourselves to record this historical moment. Take pictures of any B6's that you spot and then post an entry linking to the latest entry on the subject. Perhaps we can start a B6 archive!

Today marks my second year of joining BZP. I could go into an amazingly long post about what happened last year, but that would be unnecessary. You and I both know all about last year and it's gone. For me, there's no sense in repeating the past for the sake of a sappy blog entry.

My goal for this year is to be consistent. Consistent in my words, with my friends, in my games, and with everything else. Hopefully that can make this new year better than the last.

The 01-13-10 task deadline has been extended a week because very few people had enough time to complete the activity.

Gather friends and listen to the fourth session of RPG Fit! Today's date is January 21st, 2010. The weather is stormy in AZ and sunny in WA; with a high of excellent RPers on our forecast.

Also, we now have a sister program known as Story Fit! Lazok has set it up, so head over their for your story writing fix.

For a while, this program will be split between those who know how to play and those who have no idea how to play an RPG. Not so for right now. If you have not signed up, please post here. That post also contains a list of every task covered so far if you want to look back on things. Now, moving on.

For Those Completely New to RPGs Refer back to previous Newbie Tasks to understand the basics of RPGs and for hints to make you a better RPer.

For Veteran RPers You may go back and re-do previous tasks by maybe making them a little harder. This is optional, and is not the real task.

    For Everyone
01-21-10: This will be the last combined task (vets and newbies working together) for a few weeks. It will also be ongoing throughout the entire program. I like to call it the Grammar Police.

The way it works is that everyone currently enrolled in RPG Fit will receive 100 points, and so will anyone who joins from here on out. For every grammatical error that is reported in one of your posts, you will lose a point. You can gain points by reporting the errors in the posts of others. Points are awarded based on the amount of errors reported, not the amount of posts. You may only report posts that are in RPGs.

Hopefully, with everyone watching each other like hawks our overall grammar can improve significantly.

Pants on the ground! Looking like a fool with your pants on the ground!

UPDATE! The current task has been extended a week because very few people had enough time to complete the activity.

Welcome one and all to the third session of RPG Fit! Today's date is January 13th, 2010. This post is right on time. Make sure you notify me that you completed last week's task in order to get your points. Shadow Kurahk had 150 haikus.

For a while, this program will be split between those who know how to play and those who have no idea how to play an RPG. But not today. If you have not signed up, please post here. For Everyone
01-13-10: This week's task will take the combined efforts of the Newbies and Veterans. As such, there is no specific task assigned to each group.

A major part of all RPGs is interaction between players and player characters. In fact, that is the entire point of these games. This week's task is to design and execute a group activity (4 players or more). You will gather all sorts of players (Members of RPG Fit or Not) and coordinate something that will span across several posts, and possibly pages. By this time next week, you need to post a link to the every first post of this activity in the comments. Extra points will be awarded for the size of the event and how well the players worked together. These activities may include, but are not limited to:

    Large-scale Battle
Musical Number (Each participant would need their own lyrics and it would have to fit the tone of the game)
    Story-furthering Event

Make sure to check with the GM of the game you will be playing this in if your event effects the game in a major way.

    Lickety split!
