I never liked reboots. I lost interest in Digimon because it hard-rebooted after Digimon Adventure 02 (and hard-rebooted every single season thereafter with no exceptions), and will likely do the same with Bionicle.

I'm a genwunner. I prefer the Spherus Magna canon hands down. When franchises are given 100% reboots like this (Digimon for instance), I have a bad habit of losing interest completely.

That said, it's still premature for me to form a final opinion of the new canon. I simply hope we see more elements from Gen 1 Bionicle, eg. the Dark Hunters, Skrall and baterra, and more Toa of more elements.

The presence of a being called Makuta automatically makes this a total reboot with a brand new canon. The people of Spherus Magna in the Genwunner canon would NEVER use that name again after Teridax disgraced it!

Unless this Makuta is a Great Being and the Makuta species was named after him? As if.

Oh man, I thought Comic Con was on Friday. Thursday is even better! This new teaser has got me pumped like no tomorrow (that and I received some Bionicle books in the mail today, so that helps too)

I WAS gonna say "complete reboot with an all-new canon and absolutely no connections to Bionicle 2001-2011", but then I saw this comment.

When Digimon rebooted the same way in 2002 I completely lost interest in it. I fear I'd likely do the same if Bionicle rebooted.

Why would Tahu's adaptive armor be broken?

Does Tahu still wear his Adaptive Armour underneath the Golden Armour despite his devolution, or is only his Toa Tool adaptive now?

I think Takanuva would do well as the new white Toa Mahri, to replace the white Toa who died.

I prefer the Mahri Nui Matoran (a.k.a. the Matoran from Lesovikk's homeland) for its versatility. It's the best build to make custom Matoran with, using existing colour schemes.

 

So, the Mask of Creation... does this mean we'll finally get a set of Artahka?    

I'm putting five cents out there that he turns up as a combiner.

 

Combiner or not, I too would love to have a set of Artakha!

The Friday Announcement.

"We have dropped many hints of the return of Bionicle, from an image on our own website to the name Bionicle in a URL.  With most of these himts having been found by clever LEGO fans, we now officially announce the return of Exo-Force."

 

Take a guess which word will not be in the announcement.  Just saying, I think Lego is doing some of these things on purpose....

Surprised how many people are saying Thunderbirds and Fantastic 4. Are they expected to be coming as well?

Excuse my negativity, but I can't help but wonder if any heads have rolled at LEGO as a result of these leaks, including the mask. Or has LEGO accepted it as normal?

I watched a show on SBS2 (Australian channel) showing exactly what happened in the two hours following the attack. It was painful.

I can see him as a creepy wisp. Formerly a God of Destruction, now...

The Nothing part would explain his quote "You cannot destroy me, for I am Nothing."

I think it's in LEGO's best interests to focus on the Dark Hunters if they don't ant to make a whole new villain. The Shadowed One would make a fantastic new main villain, especially with his mysterious name forgotten by the ages (even by Greg Farshtey). Plus the Dark Hunters are so individual that it'd be hard to fall into the trap of clone sets like Bionicle did in 2006-2010.

The gold-skinned being could work too, for much the same reasons, but the Skakdi that serve him are clone sets, so they'd want to focus on the gold-skinned being's creations.
