No matter what happens, though, I have faith that Greg Farshtey will know how to do it right.

Really? I have faith that if Greg is as involved in the story as he was in the later years, it will become a tangled trainwreck again.

    I couldn't agree more.

Implying he doesn't learn from mistakes... :/

    I just pray it's not a reboot.

For somebody who has so passionately campaigned for the LEGO Group to bring the theme back I'm kind of surprised you'd be so particular about what form you want the new story to take. What would be wrong with a reboot, honestly? It's the best chance the theme might ever have of regaining its former glory and enthralling a new generation of fans.

It's not like a rebooted storyline would be completely foolproof (you'd have to rethink a lot of things up to and including how the big story engine is revealed), but I still can't really fathom why so many people are so vehemently opposed to the idea of a reboot on principle.

I do know the saying "Be careful what you wish for because you might get it", but the main focus with the campaign for my part was just to bring the sets back for long enough to cover the difference between its cancellation and the end of its 10th anniversary, ie. a year and a half. Even then, though, I still have personal preferences, but won't complain TOO much if it is a reboot.

  3. Sometimes when I become overwhelmed with emotion, my emotions shut down. Is that how I feel now? Though I WILL admit I jumped out of my skin when I saw the news on Twitter last night just before I went to bed.

Still, I'd rather wait for an official announcement from LEGO because my campaign truly declares victory.

  4. 1. A new story on Spherus Magna, shortly after, but not immediately after, the 2010/2011 story. Greg has thought ahead and started up a number of possibilities for fresh new stories that don't have to be connected to the past.

    2. Definitely finish the serials for the older fans. Possibly do what was done with Empire Of The Skrall/The Legend Reborn regarding Tuma's injury and maybe link the serials' events to the new story's situation.

    3. As a continuation, so much could work regarding villains. The Shadowed One... the gold-skinned being... or someone brand new.

  5. OK, so what I meant by a reboot was one with absolutely NO ties to the original story. Different universe, different canon, different everything.

By "continuation" I meant a new story set in the future with the same canon. Not necessarily the immediate future, but still after the events of the Battle Of Bara Magna.

  6. With the recent rumours flying around of Bionicle's return next year, I decided I'd take the opportunity to once again make this tally.

Once again, I ask members what pre-existing Bionicle characters they would like LEGO to one day make as sets. And once again, I will be watching the thread and keeping a tally.

Remember, you can answer with characters that are or aren't on the list so far. No limits.

  7. While most people think Miserix is the only Makuta left, I think there may be others that still exist. Here's my reason for thinking so:

Once upon a time, Makuta were biomechanical beings just like any other MU species. I believe this means that Makuta that died prior to the evolution to gas in armour would have been teleported to the Red Star and repaired like any other biomechanical being.

For this reason, I believe at least five Makuta may be alive inside the Red Star. The Makuta in question are the five Makuta who sided with Miserix when Teridax overthrew him. Teridax ordered all five of them killed, and their masks hung on the walls of Destral as trophies. Depending on how they were killed, they may have been teleported to the Red Star after death for repairs, and then trapped there after that infamous teleporter malfunction.

In addition, some Makuta were known to have died while dispatched on missions. Some of them may have died before the evolution, meaning they too would have been repaired inside the Red Star.

However, Kojol and the Makuta killed by Zaria would not be among these Makuta, because they are both proven to have died after evolution. Kojol had his evolved essence incinerated in a Xian furness, while the Makuta killed by Zaria was hunting him because of the evolution, which made their kind vulnerable to Toa of Iron such as Zaria.

Are there any details I'm missing? Any feedback to disprove my theory? C&C welcome.
