  1. IC: (Iolatra) "Does this affect my clan personally, or the Taajar as a collective people?" Iolatra asked. "I speak for both, and will be able to act for both- however in varying degrees and difficulties Political, and otherwise."
  2. Probably a hand, or maybe a character's eyes.
  3. IC: (Iolatra Angavur) It was the Toroshu of the Dastana. That single word made her mind buzz with curiosity. What in the name of Mother Zuto was a Dastana Toroshu doing all the way out in Odaiba? Iolatra wanted to know, and would find out. She knew that there was trouble in Sado, assassination and intrigue. She was aware of the general facts, but news traveled slow to Greywood. Could it be somehow related to that? "My clan is having a better year than before, thank Mother Zuto. But in regards to my cousin, I will state that she is in the capital at the moment, trying to establish better relations with the Toroshu of the Court. It is ill-timing that you came too late to meet her." Mahane came slightly closer, probably trying to find a moment to blast the Imperials, a hobby she relished in. "Let me give my condolences to your family. Toroshu Arsix. It is such a sad fate to befall such a noblewoman. And may you please pardon my lack of news, but what has happened to your brother? I have heard all sorts of talk of him and his fate. But may you please inform me of what happened to him?"
  4. IC: (Iolatra/Greywood Longhouse) Zelagu passed the food to another handmaiden, and gave a quick bow. In rough Imperial, she told Arsix, "Audience you shall receive. Come forward with me, to meet with Regent Iolatra." She and her sister led the group of Dastana forward. They passed down a small flight of stairs, around the high table to a raised dais. The throne of the Angavur, an large throne, but undecorated. It was made of solid wood, painted in blood-red, with yellow cushions. It was empty. To its right sat a modest, far less cushioned chair. In it was a wiry Taajar, with strangely sand-blue armor, looking upon the Dastana with barely suppressed curiosity. She rose, and gave a quick bow. "I am Iolatra Angavur, Regent of Greywood," she said curtly. "I stand here representing my cousin, Toroshu Senavysh, in her unfortunate absence. Now, may I ask for name, traveler?" Iolatra knew they were Dastana, but nonetheless, she had to keep polite discourse. From the sound of heavy-booted footsteps behind her, she silently realized Mahane had stepped into the room, to view the proceedings. IC: (Senavysh) Sena nodded quietly. This was going to be an odd experience, for sure. But it was certainly something to be apart of.
  5. Many escaped to greener pastures in Ta-Koro, Ihu-Koro and (I assume) The Massif. Many more are under house imprisonment or otherwise trapped inside the city itself. As for their fate, well...The Brotherhood has codes for slavery, and will be bringing in the tools of conversion. The Legacy, I think, will take similar actions.
  6. I've always pictured the Marines with the second largest number in regards to troops, with a small navy tacked on.
  7. IC: (Senavysh Angavur) "...I will help to the best of my ability," Sena said. "Though considering the climate of these times, my people might soon need me."
  8. I'm a bit late to the party, but one of the reasons why I enjoy Kentoku is because of its Game of Thrones-esque feudal politics.
  9. A good explanation of the Taajar can be accessed in House's siggy. As for current events in Kentoku--right now it's the calm before the storm but there's a good chance of there being much head-smashing coming soon. I honestly think the Isles are one little step from being engulfed in fire.
  10. OOC: All Taajar clans have villages and land mind you (Albeit in isolated, and often marginal locations). But Greywood is simply one of the largest, and the seat of Taajar authority. IC: (Iolatra/Greywood) Greywood was one of the grandest Taajar villages. And that was saying something. Along its edge stone walls stood, covered in moss, and weathered by age. Two Zrupgar, bows in hand, looked upon the new arrivals from their wicker chairs atop. One shouted down to her fellow below, to alert the Regent of guests. Arsix and her entourage found the gate open, as it usually was. Entering into the settlement, they saw to their right a large number of longhouses lined along the walls, with great forges in between them. Around the area, Angavur crystalsmiths labored in much the same way their ancestors did, chipping and carving crystal of dozens upon dozens of colors into cutlery and arms. To their left, a smaller collection of longhouses stood quiet, aside from some Saihoko loading a Mukau with over a dozen Naginata. The seat of the village was due ahead. A great structure, two stories tall, with an east and west wing. It was a longhouse in name only, built of ancient, and meticulously preserved wood, painted grey-green. The Taajar around her seemed more focused upon working then upon the Imperials coming into their village. Though many a curious child (Far more then one would find in an Imperial settlement of similar size) looked on in curiosity at upper-caste Imperials. *** Iolatra came out of the library in a dash. Putting upon her checkerboard red-white sash, she put down a book on Sokoai breeds, and went into the main hall. Talking to her guards, the Regent discovered it was a group of Dastana coming into her village. It wasn't particularly odd, as Dastana Saihoko came to Greywood upon occasion to buy weaponry, but from the sound of it, they were upper-caste. Or else seemingly so. Iola quietly sent orders to her handmaidens, to take positions to greet the dignitaries (They were assumed to be such). She had her cousin Zelagu take the rice-cakes and salt to the entrance. Taking a seat in the yellow-cushioned chair right of the throne, she sat and waited for the Dastana to enter.
  11. Anyone want a personal Taajar Clan? Unlike the main system of clan approval, all Taajar clans get approved via PM by myself. They are a varied and deeply ingrained part of Kentoku society, having a clan with them offers an accessible opportunity to explore ideas and concepts that wouldn't fit in with Dasaka society. Each Taajar player is entitled to create a Toroshu, a village, and seat of clan power, upon the condition of loyalty to the head-clan, controlled by myself. Taajar Clans are also autonomous. One who plays them will have de facto control over all clan affairs, save matters of war. Everything else is up to them. So if you wish to have a clan of anything from Gravediggers to poets, Rahi Horse trainers to Butchers-Assassins (It's possible) send me a PM.
  12. IC: (Senavysh Angavur) This day had gone from strange to completely bizarre. The appearance of the Dastana cemented its status as such. Sena listened to the exchange between the First Son and Retainer with intrigue, but a bit of naivety. This Imperial backhandedness, diplomacy, it was fascinating, but also somewhat confusing. She felt somehow grateful to be raised far from such spite and web-weaving, it might just have provided her a far happier upbringing after all. "...Can we return to business?"
  13. IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk) "Tell me when to fight, and I shall fight," Sukot said. "Trial by combat is not unfamiliar. Though back in my old land, let me say it was to the death..."
  14. I will be gone camping for the weekend. Sukot goes to Requiem, Larikon will be out-of-play until I return, Tarotrix goes to Yukiko, and Senavysh goes to Krayzikk.
  15. IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk) "Do I get to pick my own nickname, or will one be assigned?"
  16. IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk) "I haven't anything else to do, so yes," Sukot said.
  17. IC: (Senavysh Angavur) "If we are to find them all, then we must destroy them all," Sena said. "No mortal should have such items."
  18. IC: (Senavysh Angavur) There was something wrong with this, something that unnerved Sena to the core. Something struck her as familiar, be it the story or blade itself. Searching her mind, she remembered a lesson in her youth. One of her more eccentric elders had tried to teach her Old Taa, from an thick old tome that even scholars of the Old Taa language found challenging. She remembered passages the Amuka read to her, about an ancient, cruel warlord. That old woman had long since passed on, but she remembered the title of the book, The Heresies of Xhanok Zunostra. She began to speak up. "...There is an old Taajar text, one with only a few copies in existence. It is written in Taa so ancient that even scholars of Old Taa have trouble reading it. And since it involves the banned Old Gods, very little dare to pick it up. I'm one of the few to hear its words, from a strange elder long passed. It involves the then Taajar King of Oki, a prideful, cruel, and blasphemous man, who consulted foul sorcerers and ruled with black magic. His name was Zunostra the Bewitched. One day Zunostra, after going into a grove to partake in dark rituals, emerged in front of his Horde with a sword that glowed red. A light akin to fire, unearthly and inherently wrong. He proclaimed that he would be the conqueror of all the isles, and afterward which ascend to godhood. He thus lead his Horde to invade Odaiba." "The squabbling Hordes of Odaiba united against the invader, my ancestors included, to face the blasphemer and his riders. Upon the plains of the south they fought, with Zunostra wielding his Witch-Sword to slew hundreds of warriors. But in his hubris, it was said Zunostra incurred the wrath of the Gods, who gave their blessing to the defenders. The invader's Horde was pushed unto the sea, with Zunostra being struck in the heart with an three arrows. They say his body was taken by a gigantic wave, and his blade disappeared. For the book said, no Taajar was meant to wield it." She looked upon the sword with a dark look. "I do not know for certain that this is the same blade. Though by Mother Zuto, I am inclined to think it is. But whether or not it is or not, I still believe it is cursed. I feel absolutely no good will come of it. That if it has such powers, no person should be allowed to own it, or use it."
  19. IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk) Sukot gave a cocky grin. "Well, ma'am, let me say that my main goal in life is to amass wealth," he said. "I have no special fondness for killing... As I am not a savage. But nonetheless, if you give me the right amount of gold, I will happily kill, maim, assassinate, blow up, bounty hunt or otherwise cause violence. It is my specialty, how I make my livelihood. It is nasty work, I'll say, but nonetheless as a professional, I will get it done. I also do not care at all who hires me. Be they Governments, Mobsters, or Makuta himself, as long I get paid, I will do work for the client." He took a puff. "However, I will state that I refuse to kill pregnant women and children, or kill innocents without payment."
  20. IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk) "Most certainly," Sukot said. "With a closer look, I do feel confident that you gentlemen are not Makuta servants, or those wannabe Knights that fought with them." He put a cigarillo in his mouth, at lit it. "At first glance, at least," he added lightheartedly.
  21. IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk) He lowered the rifle entirely. "Do you happen to have any open positions?"
  22. IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk) He came forward. "What are you all doing huddled around the car?"
  23. IC: (Mons Shajs) "Mockery ain't a vary pressin' concern, in'a regards ta every'athing tha Akiri have ta deal with," Shajs said. "Besides, they'a don'ta really come'a out ta hear it."
  24. IC: (Sukot urn Voyuk) "I am Sukot urn Voyuk," he said, rising. He walked forward carefully, coming into view of the Outsiders. "...Now, gentlemen, I don't assume you have anything against Sanctum Guardsmen. Or else in my case, former guardsman-for-hire..." If they were Makuta servants, he'd take out one of them and make for the car.
