  1. IC: Cadias Cadias looked around. Every now and then, he could spot a section of chute. So, the chutes hadn't just been a rumor after all. "I don't know about the rest of you," he said, "but I'm starved after that walk. Want to drop by the market and see what they have as far as food?"
  2. I've heard that the new movie is pretty good, or at least passable. While I didn't much care for the 2009 one, I still plan on seeing it in theaters if I can. Modern movies tend to focus on fancy graphics and exciting, action-packed scenes. Star Trek didn't focus so much on action as it did on being thought-provoking; some of the most famous episodes are the ones that make you sit back and think once the episode is done. I guess the average person doesn't find that very entertaining anymore. I thought Voyager was pretty good. My favorite, though, was DS9.
  3. IC: Cadias The way Cadias figured, he had a 50% chance of getting the way to the village right. Fortunately, he guessed correctly- the thought of being lost in the jungle with an angry Vrana wasn't a pleasant one. After a few more hours of walking, they arrived at Le-Koro. Even though Cadias had seen it before, he couldn't help but stop and stare at the massive tree the village was perched in. It was awe-insipiring, to say the least. The guards stopped them at the elevators, and after making sure that they didn't pose a threat to the village, cleared them for going up. Cadias paused in front of the elevator. He didn't entirely trust it. "Here goes," he said to himself, stepping in. The elevator shot skyward, and Cadias found himself in Le-Koro.
  4. IC: Cadias Cadias grinned. Finally! "Thank the Spirit! Vrana, over here!" Seeing no easy route to the path, he forced his way through the bushes. Once he made it, his grin faded a bit. "Now..... which way to the village?" OOC: Anyone else in favor of a timelapse to the village after your responses? I think we've done enough traveling posts. XD
  5. IC: Cadias "Yes, I'm afraid that's all we can do," The Toa of Plasma replied, keeping his voice quiet. "We shouldn't risk angering him further. I learned the hard way.... Vrana is not going to change his mind." He looked around, searching for a path. It seemed that their luck had changed. "Hey," he said, pointing, "is that a trail?"
  6. IC: Cadias Seria was right.... Vrana wasn't looking well at all. He frowned- he remembered the painful consequences of his and Vrana's last argument. But Vrana was stubborn- he'd be perfectly willing to drive himself into the ground for the sake of his pride. "Vrana, she's right. You need to rest."
  7. IC: Cadias Cadias watched as Vrana began making his way through the jungle again. He winced- Vrana was going to remember this moment, and Cadias couldn't help but feel that it was his fault for suggesting that Vrana use his powers. He wanted to say something to try and comfort Vrana, but perhaps it was better just to not say anything. Silently, he followed the Toa of Plantlife.
  8. IC: Cadias Cadias watched as Vrana smiled, just a little bit, and unleashed his power over plantlife. At first, it went quite well- plants were moving. Then they stopped moving, and Vrana almost fell over. Cadias, concerned, moved forward, then stopped. If he knew Vrana, then Vrana's pride would be hurt more than anything else. He probably wouldn't appreciate Cadias acting like he was about to faint. "You depleted your elemental energy, I see. Don't worry, you'll feel better in a moment. It happens to everybody, especially people who just got their powers. You'll be able to do more as you use your powers more often and become familiar with them." Cadias offered Vrana his hand.
  9. IC: Cadias Cadias was surprised by Vrana's quick reply. He had a feeling that the Avian-turned-Toa wouldn't be changing his mind, either. "Ok, ok," Then, an idea struck him. "Hey, why not try to clear the way with your elemental powers? You can just move the plants, not harm them, and it's a great way to practice. After all, you're not going to get better at using your powers if you never use them."
  10. OOC: Cadias from Ga-Wahi. IC: Cadias Whenever someone says that your destination can't be far away, is just around the next bend, it's a good idea to prepare yourself for a long walk. Perhaps Cadias was right, and Le-Koro wasn't far off. But traveling through the dense jungle was slow and irritating. They hadn't come across a path yet, and Cadias was beginning to seriously consider using his elemental powers to blaze a trail.... literally. "Do you think I should just burn through all this stuff and save us some time?" He asked, in what barely wasn't a grumble.
  11. IC: Cadias Cadias smiled at the thought of Seria shooting through the chutes until she got dizzy- he'd only known her for a short time, but had little trouble picturing it. He looked around, realizing that the beach was beginning to give way to a thick jungle. "We've got to be almost to Le-Wahi by now," he observed. "Le-Koro can't be too far off." OOC: Cadias to Le-Wahi.
  12. IC: Cadias "Same here. It's one of the more interesting things that Onu-Koro has come up with- I heard they put the chutes throughout the entire village, and you can use them for transportation." He shrugged. "It all sounds a bit fantastic to me, but it'd certainly be interesting to see."
  13. IC: Cadias Seeing that Vrana had understood his answer, Cadias waited a bit for a response from either of his companions. There was silence. "Well...." Cadias said, trying to think of something to say. "Um.... you heard about the Le-Koro chutes?"
  14. IC: Cadias Cadias decided to respond to Seria first, as his explanation to Vrana would probably take some time. "Oh, I see. That's the reason I left Ga-Koro, really: It got boring. Not sure about Vrana over there." He took a deep breath, thinking. After a short pause, he began. "Yes, I was intending to tell you. You see, the Turaga, leaders of the villages, were all assassinated. The Akiri were elected by the Matoran to rule in their stead. In the first few weeks after Makuta's demise, things went well. "Then tension started to build. The death of the Turaga hit the villages hard, and the Akiri don't trust each other very much. Po-Koro's already cut itself off from the rest of the island. So far, nothing other than that has happened, so hopefully the tension will fade. The assassination probably isn't connected to any other villages."
  15. IC: Cadias Cadias' smile returned. "That is true. Besides, whoever did it was probably not with any of the Koros- there may be a bit of tension between them, but not enough to risk starting a war. I'm sure justice will be served, and anyone looking to cause trouble will probably rethink their plans." Realizing that daylight was burning, he began walking in the direction of Le-Wahi again. "So, what brings you all the way out here in the wilderness?" He winked, knowing full well that the village was still within sight.
  16. IC: Cadias Cadias smiled. "An adventure? I hadn't really thought of it that way. Still, I suppose that it's an apt description for our trip around the island. You see, Vrana and I decided to go out and see what the world is like without Makuta looming over us." The Toa's smile faded a little. "Though I suppose that the assassination attempt proves that it's not all that different."
  17. OOC: Oh, I just meant that the person who plays Vrana isn't online. IC: Cadias Cadias laughed. "I guess that's one way of putting it. Say, we're heading to Le-Koro. You wouldn't happen to be going that way, would you?" Why not? Seria seemed nice enough, and while Vrana was a good friend, he didn't make the best of company.
  18. IC: Cadias "I don't know," the Toa said, shaking her hand. "My name is Cadias, and this is Vrana. You'll have to forgive him if he's a bit quiet; he's not what I'd call a people person," he said with a grin. OOC: Vrana is another player character, which is why he's being so quiet. XD
  19. OOC: Ah, sorry about not being more specific. IC: Cadias The Toa of Plasma shrugged. "Not sure myself. The guards stopped us at the gates to make sure we weren't involved, and that's where my friend and I found out," he said, with a nod to Vrana, the strange-looking Toa standing beside Cadias. "It's sad, though. Only three months after Makuta's defeat and the Koros are already drifting apart. I can't help but wonder if another Koro was involved or not."
  20. IC: Cadias Cadias waited until the other Toa got closer, so that it was easier to talk. "If you're heading to the village, you should probably know that someone just tried to assassinate the Akiri."
  21. IC: Cadias "The reason it's exciting," Cadias began, hearing the boredom in Vrana's voice, "Is because of the technology behind it. If, in three months, we can invent that kind of technology, imagine what we could have three months from now!" Spotting something on the beach, he squinted. "Hey, a Toa. We'd better him or her about the assassination attempt, and the guards at the entrance of the village.." Cupping his hands around his mouth, Cadias yelled at the Toa (Seria). "Hello!"
  22. IC: Cadias The guards, apparently deciding that the claws weren't enough reason to detain the two Toa, handed Vrana's coat back to him. "You're free to go." "Excellent. Now, back to chutes. I hear that they're big tubes that you jump into, that whisk you away to a different part of the Koro."
  23. OOC: I thought they were already out of the village, so this should work just as well. IC: Cadias "Oh, good. You've just never gone into detail about the kinds of things you eat, so-" "Halt!" Cadias turned around, perplexed. It was a couple of Marines. "What's the problem?" "You left the village without checking in with the guards." "Oh, I see." He turned to Vrana. "They just want to make sure that we're not up to no good." Taking off his coat, he handed it to one guard for inspection, and then handed his sword, still sheathed, to the other. "Why didn't you stop us at the entrance?" "We've been busy. There was an assassination attempt. Akiri Hahli was the target." "Really? That's no good." The Marine handed him back both his coat and weapon; both had passed inspection.
  24. IC: Cadias Cadias decided to tell Vrana the rumors he'd heard about chutes later. "You know what I mean. Did you...." He paused, and looked around. Nobody was within earshot. "..... You know.... eat them?"
  25. OOC: I don't recall seeing anything about it in the description of the village, so I think we're OK. IC: Cadias "You don't know what the chutes are, do you?" Cadias smiled, amused. "Neither do I, really. What I've heard about them is almost too incredible to believe." He shuddered. "I'd never be able to live in a place with bodies laying around." Suddenly, his eyes widened. "Wait a second.... you didn't try to.... did you?" The thought was a horrible one. But surely. even Vrana wouldn't eat dead Matoran. Would he?
