  1. Don't delete my comments. Apparently cutting off a discussion and censoring people is more important to you than rectifying a bigot's opinion, and you're fine with censorship yet not fine with insults. You aren't allowed to spout such rubbish without backing it up. You just...aren't. I don't believe black people should be allowed on buses. I don't want to go into why - I just want you all to know that. You might not want to go into it, but you really should because right now you just look like a horrible person. And it'd take - what - two sentences to explain? Five tops? Folk can continue here if they want. Heck, even if they don't want to, they probably should for their own dignity. - Tilius
  2. Treating someone differently isn't necessarily wrong or sexist (and actually, those words come directly from a close female friend of mine). I do treat girls differently than guys -- I guess you could call it chivalry. If a guy is cold, and so am I, I'm going to keep my jacket on (I mean, if he's not like in really poor health or something, but just "normally" cold). But if a girl is cold and so am I, I'll offer her my jacket. I'll make a point to hold the door open for girls, but for guys, I'll only do it if it happens -- I won't specifically try to. And the list goes on. I'm not sure how treating a girl differently than a guy is sexist or wrong. See, I'd also call that sexist. 'Chivalry' exists due to guys wanting 'other stuff' with girls. I'm sure there are genuinely nice guys who do it out of being nice (and would therefore do the same regardless of gender), but otherwise it's niceness BECAUSE they're a girl and because the guy wants something else. It's 'socially accepted' sexism, basically. Then again, that could mean being anything other than bisexual is sexist, lol. I suppose if you're only holding doors open for girls you want 'other stuff' with rather than EVERY girl then it isn't sexism, because it's down to them being nice/HAWT rather than being female. Hm. Tough one. - Tilius
  3. So....are you going to actually explain what you meant by not wanting women in the military? I'm applying the label because that's how it comes across. I'm inviting you to defend yourself and not look like an idiot. And you aren't doing that, you're just saying 'I'll just laugh if you call me sexist' which is no defence at all. I'm sure you can back up your argument with the subtlety that keeps it in line with the rules. Personally, I'd rather break the rules and not look like a bigot, but that's just me. If it's the debate itself that you think might be breaking rules because it's somehow 'political', you're wrong - we can discuss sexism the same way we can discuss stuff like racism, homophobia etc - these are all things that have an undeniable 'right' approach and therefore debate doesn't (or shouldn't) get too heated. Just you gotta back up your points, that's all. I don't know why you just said you don't believe women are stronger than men - you've obviously ignored the point of my original reponse. There is no 'men are stronger' or 'women are stronger', there is 'these female bodybuilders are stronger than fat couch potato men' and 'these male bodybuilders are stronger than these fat couch potato women'. The point being that gender is entirely irrelevant, which therefore makes your opinion on women serving in the military entirely idiotic. UNLESS you're able to provide some overwhelmingly innovative argument for your opinion - and if you are, then do so. If you're not, then you shouldn't have brought up such a stupid viewpoint in the first place. Apologies for not 'respecting' this opinion, but some opinions you really gotta go out of your way to disagree with or 'disrespect' because they're based on hatred and bigotry, and there's no place for that these days. - Tilius
  4. You did kind of just drop the bombshell that you're sexist, and then didn't bother to explain or defend it. You can't really do that, and you can't try and push away discussion from something you brought up. See now it looks like you don't think women should be in the military because they belong in the kitchen and should be at home raising a family, AND they're obviously all weaker than men, especially those female bodybuilders (who think they have a right to lift weights alongside men, HA!). Because men of the modern day are ALL in peak physical condition, none of them sit around eating crisps and arguing on the internet (....) and we've all come a long way since the days of those unhealthy gladiator sorts. Or perhaps you believe that if women fought in wars, there would be nobody around to have and raise children, and we should impose a ban on military women for that reason - and in an ideal world, we'd pen them off and keep them in a stable, ensuring their safety and limiting their freedom so they never come into any harm. Obviously they shouldn't be able to drive or cross the street or anything either, because their sole purpose is to have and raise kids and we can't risk them dying else the human race will die out. Maybe that's why they should be in the kitchen - so they can cook for themselves and others so we don't even have to refill their troughs. That's what I'm taking from your 'no women in military' thing. Either way, you're not allowed to dictate where a discussion flows to. - Tilius
  5. Basically, 'strong female character' should stop being a thing that needs pointing out. Because it's saying 'Oh this is so different, she's a strong female character' as if it's the exception to the rule. Also Black Widow is 'eye candy', but Thor has his massive arms out a lot of the time, and then there's the part with Captain America in his needlessly tight blue shirt. Just sayin'. Not sure what I'm adding to the conversation with that. But yeah, follow this up with the 10 most beautiful male characters and you'll be fine. - Tilius
  6. I just got one off eBay the other day. It was about £50 which was the same price they've always been on eBay (until now, they're about £70 so I bought just at the right time). Shipped from Hong Kong really quickly, too. Also, why has the logo on the inside of the box and in the back of your picture got those 'cut out' lines around it? Why would you want to remove it? ALSO is there a list of ALL Figma figures ever made somewhere? ALSO they NEED to make Fox McCloud after Pit. - Tilius
  7. OH YEAHHH. It is a great figure. How did you get him to hold his sword? I just forced it into his hand, but apparently part of the sword handle comes off so you can just slide it in, but I don't know how true that is. - Tilius

    Paper Mario: Sticker Star

I'm saving it for Christmas, and I'm kind of expecting a bad game so hopefully that'll mean I enjoy it more. Still, can't be worse than Kid Icarus.[/troll] - Tilius

    LEGO Satoru Iwata

NINTENDO LEGO LICENSE CONFIRMED. Though in all seriousness....it seems quite possible now. Hm. - Tilius
  10. ALSO I suppose Arkham City Wii U counts as a new release, so that. And is Rayman Legends out yet? If so, then probably that as well. - Tilius
  11. I'll fiddle with the Kid Icarus controls at some point then, see if that solves it. Also, out of interest, have you played previous AC games? I imagine its excellent if not, but I really felt like I'd played it three times before. And gawd, Connor is so bland, and the Hayden Christiansen soundalike doesn't help. That said, Haytham is probably the best character in any of the games, with a great voice actor and excellent lines, but suffers from such slow missions at the start. His later return is very welcome and makes for the best sequences in the game. So I dunno. More of him and I'd like the game a lot more. - Tilius
  12. Tbh I mainly include it as an OOER, CONTROVERSIAL one. Its not terrible, but should've been so much better and has horribly obvious problems. - Tilius
  13. I listed ME3 as one of the best games, despite the ending which got blown out of proportion. Really gotta disagree on Kid Icarus having 'fantastic' controls. You can certainly disagree and say they're good, but nobody would ever describe them as fantastic, because they're not. Really. As objectively as you can be with it....they suck during the ground sections. Having to swipe the screen three times just to turn the camera in the middle of a fight is in no way a good control scheme. NSMBWiiU also seems a lazy game, made from an assortment of levels constantly being designed under the NSMB engine and art style. It feels more of an easy money maker for Nintendo, rathrr than being made with care and ingenuity that forms the best Mario games, like Galaxy. Interesting that most of the games you list are Nintendo exclusives...causes a lack of perspective that makes average games seem good when there is no point of reference to proper classics like Portal 2, for example. And to list AC3 as one of the best is odd to me, too, as its more of the same, but with a duller story, unengaging main character and padded out with lazily devised sidequests. Haytham is good and naval battled are ok, but Desmond's ending sucked. The series is verging on CoD 'churning out the same game every year' strategy. Also I second Black Ops as one of the worst games of the year, as CoD represents all that is wrong with gaming today. As do Fifa games. - Tilius
  14. BEST: Borderlands 2 Journey Okami HD Trials Evolution Mass Effect 3 Inevitably Halo 4, though I've not played it yet. WORST: Joe Danger 2 Assassin's Creed III (well, not really the worst, just a big disappointment) Kid Icarus Uprising (awful, awful controls for the ground sections) Probably good but I'm yet to play: Professor Layton Miracle Mask NSMB2/NSMBWiiU Pokemon Black/White 2 Ratchet and Clank/Jak and Daxter HD collections. KInd of a meh year for games, really. I'm sure I'm forgetting some games, though. - Tilius
  15. Only you could make such a long blog entry on something like this. Classic bones. - Tilius
  16. I'm not. I'm saying one group put together a decent argument, the other group, for the most part, clicked 'yes' and didn't post why. It's like believing a statement or believing one based on facts - you're more likely to believe (not necessarily agree with, though) the one with the facts. It's a similar situation here - 'I have X opinion and here's a good reason why' is more reasonable than 'I have X opinion'. Basic. BECAUSE MORE OF THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED NO CAME ON HERE AND EXPLAINED THEIR RESPONSE I'VE SAID IT LIKE 5 TIMES and relax. I'm not going to assume that people thought about their decision if they didn't post a coherent argument. I'm assuming stupidity, here, which is the better of the two assumptions to make. I'm not. The sentence I quoted is basically a rephrasing of my entire point. It isn't a big deal, and yet people people seem to be passionately explaining why it shouldn't happen. There are fewer people passionately explaining why it should happen, because it's not a big deal to them. But it is a big deal to the people taking the time to write looooong posts on it. So those making the looooong posts care more about it and demonstrate they've thought about it, and so their opinion is worth more because they clearly care. Well, I didn't. I use social networks. I just insulted the simpletons who use them - the sort who name their baby Hashtag, for example. There's a good number of regular, thinking people, but the vast majority are morons. I'm sure they're very nice people, but that doesn't mean they're not morons. I've changed my mind - we should have a LIKE system. And since decent reasoning is apparently overrated, I don't need to add anything more. There, that's one less vote for NO and one more vote for YES. That's decided it then, good, now we can all shut up. TOPIC CLOSED. WAIT I HAVE A REASON. If we had like/dislike on member pages which weren't anonymous, I could more easily keep track of who likes me and who doesn't, so I can avoid any discussion with those that don't like me because they're a waste of time. That'd actually be convenient. I lose track over who I've offended over the years so it'd be nice to have a list. - Tilius
  17. Well, I'm not. It's just nobody has really come forward with any amazing reason in favour of it, whilst plenty of people have put forward decent reasons against it. Nope, but it's a great way of measuring a response when a poll result presents a 50:50 split - it's half the reason why poll topics are TOPICS, not just polls, because discussion is important. If one 50% is passionately against it, and most of the other 50% gave it about 5 seconds thought and voted and then probably forgot they even voted, then the votes of the former 50% should be given more weight. That....that's exactly what I'm saying. You post like you're disagreeing, yet you're agreeing with me.(Also, you seriously censored the phrase 'moron-hub'?) .....is it? So....you agree as well?Seriously, don't open with 'I disagree' and then go on to agree with me....Still, provoked some more responses on this so hopefully it'll help with the decision making.- Tilius
  18. Grah, title made me excited. This was shown months ago, lol. But yeah, will be a good set. - Tilius
  19. If we disregard the poll results, then, and instead look at the reasoning behind people's decisions, the NO vote has demonstrated a more well-argued position. I think a lot of the YES votes were 'ER I DUNNO YA PROBLY' votes, rather than 'YES AND HERE'S AN AMAZING REASON WHY' votes. Besides, these 'like' systems are what you use on moron-hubs where intelligent discussion is discouraged, and I like to think that this isn't one of those places. Even though I know it is. KIDDING. Seems that the 50% who don't want it are more enthusiastic about not wanting it than the 50% who voted in favour of it, basically, because the latter group didn't really present any decent arguments. 21. I did not know what this was but now I do and OMG I WANNA WATCH IIIIIIT. - Tilius
  22. Actually, this would be a good idea if we also had a 'dislike' feature, and if you get a certain number of dislikes your post gets deleted. It's the fairest way to have a reasonable discussion. Though that'd be the end of my blog, I suppose. - Tilius
  23. I 'like' this idea.Just kidding, it's an awful idea, burn whoever thought of it.- Tilius
