  1. IC (Tallik Vao, Taris spaceport outskirts) "Their nearest outpost's not that far from here," Tallik answered. "Lower City, near some old gang territory. Not the biggest garrison, but I heard something in the cantina about a Star Destroyer in orbit so they might be getting reinforcements in." He gave the Zabrak a sideways glance. "'Specially if they're looking for someone."
  2. IC (Raia Veyura, Upper City hotel) Sarir felt a hand come down lightly on his shoulder and heard Veyura's voice in his ear, quiet and silky and mocking. "Pretty little secretaries turning your head already? I'm almost surprised. Maybe you should ask her about the room service."
  3. Not sure how you got that impression. How far back did you read? The last handful of posts have been mainly Imperial characters, yes, but they're in the minority: only around one in four player characters are Imperial-aligned, last I checked.
  4. IC (Tazera) "Matter of perspective if you ask me, Aya," the lieutenant replied. "On the one hand, we've already had a dangerous altercation with one of the natives, and from the sound of it the Six are more entrenched than we might've hoped." She shrugged. "On the other, diplomacy's been plain sailing as far as I can tell. And the locals have been far more welcoming than we'd be if an unknown foreign vessel up and floated right into Sado port, that's for sure."
  5. IC (Raia Veyura, Inquisitorius shuttle) "You were." In contrast to Sarir's lounging, Veyura sat neatly in her seat with one leg primly crossed over the other and hands clasped in her lap. She had raised an eyebrow a few acerbic fractions of an inch as Sarir mansplained a few blending-in techniques—techniques that would have been blindingly obvious to an Umbaran even if she hadn't spent most of her adult life on Coruscant—and had raised it yet further as the voice of this blundering underling came over the comm. That raised a few questions, in fact. Had her colleagues made the unseemly error of using a general Imperial frequency, instead of one reserved for members of the Inquisitorius? Or had this lieutenant gained access to a secure channels through illicit means? "I suggest you watch your tone, Lieutenant. We are about to undertake a sensitive operation, and the Inquisitorius does not tolerate insubordination at the best of times. Is that understood?"
  6. It's actually more like 4000 years. Not that that changes your point, of course; although to be honest, the Taris we've been seeing so far in the RPG is virtually the same as KotOR-era Taris, just even more run-down.
  7. IC (Tallik Vao, Taris junkyard) Tallik gave the hand one firm shake. "Pleased to meet you, Benth," he said. "And this...this is my partner, Cylund Calrissian. He'll soon find some way of making himself more than memorable, believe me."
  8. When I originally wrote that, I intended the green to be the non-standard colour. I can't remember where I got light blue/white from; might've been from another source, might've just been what I assumed Crystal's colours would be. And no, I'm not aware of Crystal having any official standard colours either.
  9. IC (Merror) "I wouldn't call laying Utu to rest an 'adventure'," Merror observed. "Nor helping a lost man find food and shelter. But I do see your point." He paused for a few strides, letting the crunch of underfoot snow fill the silence. "I suppose all I can say is that we're doing the best we can. We couldn't just leave Utu to die alone, and we can't just leave this poor soul to freeze in the Wastes. Once we've helped him reach civilisation, we can get back on track. We'll get back to that glacier where Echelon's made his home, and then Aerus can—" Merror stopped speaking abruptly, his brow creasing in a sudden frown. He looked around sharply, eyes roving across the snow all around the group. "Where's Aerus?!" The Matoran was nowhere to be seen.
  10. IC (Echelon) "The answer to that question depends on the nature of the 'disloyalty'," Echelon replied. "If you refer to the spies the Akiri have doubtless already sent to infiltrate our city, then there are ways we might identify them or flush them out. False flag operations, for example. But if you mean the mercenary types whose loyalty is only to their own enrichment, and who might be swayed by greener pastures or higher bidders...retaining them may be difficult." The Dark Toa's expression hardened. "Particularly so since you have given away half of our leverage."
  11. IC (Merror) Merror looked up from the snow, pulling his brain out of auto-pilot and shifting his attention away from his private thoughts. "What's bothering you?" he asked Agni.
  12. IC (Tallik Vao, Taris junkyard) Tal nodded. "Just follow us. Cy and I will get you there in one piece," he said, then added, "...I don't think I caught your name?"
  13. IC (Raia Veyura, ISD Insight) "Oh come on, it's all in good fun," Veyura replied with a pout. "Nokon knows I'm only toying with him." Another smile, as charming as could be. "Don't you, Nokon?"
  14. IC (Raia Veyura, ISD Insight) "I am, in fact, capable of understanding popular idioms, Sarir. It's just as well you clarified, though." She aimed a white-toothed smile at Raine like a casual flick of a knife. "I would so hate to confuse our valiant comrade."
  15. IC (Tazera) "Not really my place to comment, ma'am," Tazera picked up once Mako had finished. "At least, not professionally, what with me being military and this being more of a diplomatic matter in my eyes. But personally...I'd be against it as well. It's not in our mandate to get involved with this island's in-fighting. And even if it were, I'd say we don't know enough yet about the situation." The lieutenant shrugged. "Just my thoughts, ma'am. I'll be behind your decision either way."
  16. IC (Raia Veyura, ISD Insight) "Short attention span, Sarir? I could prescribe you something for that. I'm sure I've got some rancor tranquilliser lying around somewhere."
  17. IC (Tallik Vao, Taris junkyard) "That being seedy bars and two-faced employers, yeah," Tallik replied. "Not that we didn't know that already. Cy and I grew up on this rock." IC (Raia Veyura, ISD Insight) "So nice of you to ask, Chief. I'm pleased to say it's going very well. Here's hoping our mission will give me a chance to field-test the formula."
  18. IC (Raia Veyura, ISD Insight) "I believe Revan puts something of a hole in that argument," Veyura observed.
  19. To be fair, I have actually started on the Mangai wrap-up.
  20. IC (Raia Veyura, ISD Insight) "The answer is fear, Mr Raine." Veyura's voice cut into the conversation as she approached. Sarir and Raine had no way of know quite how much she had overheard, but her knowing smile suggested it was more than either of them would have intended. "Masks may have mundane purposes, as means of protection or survival," she continued, "but that's not why Darksiders favour them. "Fear of the unknown is one of the mind's most primal impulses. If you conceal your face, your identity, your humanity, you can make yourself that unknown. You can prey on that fear, and become more than mere flesh and blood in the mind of your enemy: a demonic force, a thing of horror." Veyura smiled again. "I think that's a power worth wielding," she said. "Don't you?"
  21. Nope, they're definitely still in Ga. Perhaps you got confused when they returned to their ship at one point?
  22. IC (Tallik Vao, Taris junkyard) "Well, now you're talking our language," Tal replied with a smirk as he exchanged nods with Cy. "But really though, cover up your Republic colours. I think we'd all prefer to avoid any Imperial entanglements." IC (Raia Veyura, ISD Insight laboratory) The third member of Vespula's chosen ground team was not in the rec room with the other Inquisitors when their mission was announced. Instead, Dr Raia Veyura was in the lab, hunched over the viewing port of a compound synthesis module. Her face was obscured by the breather mask she wore (when working with the kind of substances Veyura specialised in, it was wise to take precautions), but behind the bulbous red lenses her eyes were fixed intently on her work. Chemicals played an integral part in many of Veyura's activities, from interrogations to combat. Some, such as dioxis or basic truth serum, were among the standard-issue supplies used by the Inquisitorius and thus readily available to her. When she wanted more specialised substances, it fell to her to synthesise them herself, and so she could often be found in the laboratory doing exactly that. Right now she was just finishing cooking up a batch of Phobia-4 (a potent fear-inducing hallucinogen of her own design). Straightening up from the viewing port, she walked over to the module's output hatch and watched with satisfaction as the first of twelve vials of pale yellow-green liquid came trundling out on a conveyor belt. As the others followed one by one, she picked up the first with one alabaster-skinned hand and pulled off her breather mask to inspect the vial's contents by eye. Satisfied, she tucked the it and two others into loops on her belt, and placed the rest in her personal storage locker. The hiss of a nearby door's hydraulics announced the arrival of a protocol droid. "What is it, JD3-RA-7?" Veyura asked as it entered. "A message from Recreation Room A, Inquisitor," the droid replied. "Chief Inquisitor Vespula has assigned you to the ground team for her mission on Taris. You will be working with Inquisitors Liare and Raine. It is recommended that you rendezvous with them immediately." In an instant, Veyura matched names to faces to psychological profiles, and gave the droid a nod. "Thank you, JD3. Tell me, which Inquisitor sent this message?" The droid was silent for a moment, twitching its head slightly as the RA-7 models were known to when processing unexpected requests. "No Inquisitor sent it, ma'am," it explained hesitantly. "MSE-6-B456G was passing through the room when the announcement was made, and elected to deliver this message of his own accord." Veyura raised an eyebrow. "That's an unusual level of independent thought for a mouse droid," she observed. "...He thought you ought to be informed, ma'am," JD3 explained, somewhat nervously. "I see. In that case, please thank B456G for its initiative." "Yes, Inquis—" "—And instruct it to report to Maintenance for a memory wipe." "...yes, Inquisitor." The protocol droid gave Veyura a stiff bow, before clattering away down the corridor. The Inquisitor followed soon after, having removed her white lab coat and donned her black armorweave one, and headed in the direction of the rec rooms in search of her colleagues.
  23. @PuddleToa: Welcome! I know it's quite extensive, but the starter topic is designed to summarise the story so far, so I don't really know what to suggest beyond reading that and asking any specific questions you have as a result. As for what's common knowledge to a new character, that's quite a vague question. Are you talking specifically about events (i.e. recent history), or all topics in general (i.e. the various species, local geography and culture, etc)? @Ghidora: Not sure why you're flagging up the Tiokaha, tbh. They're cool, but he asked for things that are central to the plot or common knowledge for PCs, and the Tiokaha are currently neither.
