Mortal kombat ninjas
vicente steffens posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsHello, I wanted to share these mocs for a long time, but until today I have missing pieces to complete some details, fortunately they are not so relevant for now. starting, the ninjas had started in 2015, the problem with these versions was that they were very fragile, in the end I had to decide to disarm them because there was nothing left of the figures. in 2017 I decided to reconstruct the figures, this time trying to apply more details and being more careful in working the structure of these. Sub-zero sub zerostarting with the ninja lin kuei, his design is based on the dress of Mortal Kombat X, while the base on which he is posing is inspired by the statue of the character of the same game.not to deal with the construction of elements like skin I decided to use black in those parts inspired by the version of scorpion and sub zero in the video games of injustice. Scorpion for the spectral ninja, use the direct reference from Mortal Kombat X, applying in the same way the details of the skin in black. Scorpio has a pair of swords that can be placed on the back without extra accessories and its characteristic kunai.the base of the scorpion is also inspired by a figure / statue of Mortal Kombat X of the carácter in both cases the construction used is mixed between elements ccbs, bionicle and system. Mini Scorpion Rahi (With Instructions!)
trayn0r posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsThe Fikou Scorpion is a Rahi build I came up with while improvising on the simplistic Fikou build. In the end, I ended up with a four-legged Rahi with a Thornax launcher tail and gear function. This build consists of 92 parts (When including Kanohi and ammo), has a few functions (Over a dozen points of articulation, gear function, Thornax launcher), and uses a mix of G1 Bionicle, Technic, and CCBS pieces. I plan on slowly creating a small team of these MOCs in various colors. And thanks to the power of Stud.IO and LPub, I have figured out how to make my own instructions that actually resemble official Lego instructions! The only issue is that CCBS bones and most Bionicle-specific pieces don't show up, so I indicated the missing parts on the first page of instructions. Okotian Demon Scorpion
Clavis posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsThe Skull Scorpio has gotten some flack for lack of posability, abnormally large tail, etc., so I decided to start designing a new scorpion creature... thanks to some spare parts and a "certain" Star Wars set I purchased today. It's color scheme should bring back some nostalgia for Generation 1 fans. So here is the newest creature to be cataloged from Okoto... The Okotian Demon Scorpion! Named for its gigantic horns, this large creature roams tunnels and caves in the Region of Stone. During the day, they come out to feed by burying themselves beneath the desert sand and striking with their tail and large hairy forearms. Their typical prey are Skull Scorpios. Thanks to their massive mandibles, they are able to crush bones and absorb the calcium from them. They are very aggressive and territorial and will often attack any villager that stumbles into their way. Although rare, they are known to prey on villagers, but only when starving. When attacking larger prey like villagers, the demon scorpion can lift its upper body and attack in a centaur-type fashion. Even a Toa would find this creature a challenge. The poison from its tail causes its victim's body to heat up which causes dehydration from lots of sweating. Villagers of Fire have some resistance and take longer to dehydrate, but the venom seems to affect their biology as well.
The Great Scorpion - Nui-Jaga Revamp
joev14 posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsMy trans-yellow barraki eyes arrived in the mail today, so I figured I mine as well post the Nui-Jaga today. If this is the first of my models that you've seen, I recommend you take a look at my Nui-Rama and Tarakava Revamps. This model was probably the most difficult to add to out of all of them, mainly because the Nui Jaga really is just a scorpion. Regardless of that, I tried my very best to give it a new spin, mainly in giving it a fully articulate tail and arms, as well as adding pincers to the claws. I really enjoyed making the pincers while still managing to keep the original masks. Working with purple was also difficult, and it meant a lot of bricklink orders to get enough purple mata hands. I chose to do this instead of the Muaka for two reasons. First, it fits better with my set colorscheme (all the models have black, then secondary colors are lime, then purple, then blue, then red, and lastly, yellow). I also chose to do this because I feel as though the Muaka has gotten a lot more attention. And don't worry, you'll still get an iconic scene with Kane-Ra vs. Kopaka, taken from Tale of the Toa.
Wasp And Scorpion

Today's special is a couple of MOCs that I built over the Christmas break using my recently-acquired Hero Factory sets. Basically, because Waspix and Scorpio were pretty bad sets, I made better scorpion and wasp versions. Although, admittedly, the scorpion is mostly HF, being based on Witch Doctor's parts, while the wasp has a lot more Bionicle elements. Also, the more astute or stalker-ish of you may realize that the pictures of these have been on my Maj for about a month now, but I kept forgetting to post the topic. Anyway, to the pictures!
