Different Yellow Krana?

Well since the other part of marketplace got closed down, I assume I'm allowed to talk about collecting stuff here? Dunno. There's probably a better place.

 

Gata says that there's both "light yellow" and "dark yellow" krana, but neither are considered misprints.

 

I can't find any other info on the topic. Anyone?

There are light and dark purple Krana, but the two yellow variations is totally news to me!

It's more harder to tell the difference between the two shades of yellow than the Purple Krana. At least for me.And by difference, I mean a pain in the rear. It's hard enough trying to find the Purple Krana.

Ironically for me my two purple krana, both Za I can tell apart easily, one has more blue.

I'm thinking about starting my krana collection. Not actively trying to get them, but at the very least collecting passively, and avoiding repeats. And working out the best stand.

 

I figure if I'm gonna do it, I better do it right.

 

So yeah. I've certainly heard of the different purples, but gata is the only person I can find who says that there's different yellows. (though it looks like raptor agrees.) Is there any reference or documentation for this? I couldn't find any, and I found it odd that no krana checklists I found have the different yellow listed.

What's so weird is why does nobody know about this? Normally stuff like this is either common knowlege, or doesn't exist. So why is it like some secret? :/

That picture is a bit outdated. :PThere are definitely two shades of yellow. My guess is they changed the plastic at some point. The "light yellow" Krana appear to be rarer, but not as rare as to be considered misprints. To be honest, I've always found the diffence between the yellow shades more obvious than the purple shades.-Gata

That picture is a bit outdated. :PThere are definitely two shades of yellow. My guess is they changed the plastic at some point. The "light yellow" Krana appear to be rarer, but not as rare as to be considered misprints. Have you gotten a full set? If so, do you think you could put up a good comparison shot between the two yellows?

I think I do have a full set but I'm missing a silver Kanohi Nuva and a light blue Za (that one's tough to get for some reason ). I don't have full sets of yellow Krana in both shades, though. I prefer to order pieces from Europe and whenever I checked on BrickLink noone in Europe was selling it. Though it's been a while since I last checked. -Gata

Oh yeah, I always forget about country filters on bricklink. I didn't have a filter on, but there were still like 20, I dunno.

The difference in the picture is minimal, but visible. The difference between the purple and the yellow is that the purple was supposedly intentional, but the yellow was not.

Yellow and purple are both colors which are notorious for inconsistency, especially in parts from that era and parts in unusual materials like Krana. It doesn't surprise me that the Krana in those colors would have inadvertant variations.

Wow, I have to say that I'm disappointed in myself for not catching this sooner.  I took a really close look at my Tahnok Va Krana and there were definitely two shades of yellow in my set.  Gonna have to order some extras on Bricklink and hope that I get the right variations to complete the two sets.  Nice find!

I just want to point out that there are different shades of Shadow Kraata - like the Krana - and so 259 is not a complete set. I only discovered this when I was selling them. One of them was darker than the rest. If anyone has a some Shadow Kraata, could you compare them just to verify this?

I've started PMing people who I know have full sets to check it out. Maybe it is just a coincidence but from my experience when it comes to collectibles, there isn't many coincidences.
