Toa Alvarno
Has the fact that 2015 will be a reboot and not a continuation changed your mind about getting back into Bionicle? For me, I'm a little hesitant about getting back into buying new sets now, knowing that it's a reboot. It's just strange having to start all over again. Sumiki
A continuation would have been the dumbest business decision that LEGO could possibly have made, and since they generally make good decisions I knew it was a reboot ever since the rumors were confirmed. So I came into the reboot itself more ambivalent because that's what I knew that they'd do, but I'm really excited for where they're taking it. 1 avatar by Lady Kopaka
Zatth
Though I initially didn't know if I wanted a reboot, I now realize it is for the best. Plus, the team still has nods to the fans! Tahu's pose is like that of his Mata/Nuva incarnation, Makuta's mask in the video is like the movie Kraahkan, and I know there'll be many more easter eggs.
LewaLew
Sumiki's right. After all, what would have been the point of cancelling it in the first place if they were just going to flip-flop on their decision later on? This was LEGO's opportunity to fix their mistakes with BIONICLE and make it better. So far, I think they've done a great job. How well will you die? Jacks
I'll admit that I was hoping for a soft reboot instead of a total one, but the confirmation of a hard reboot has also come with enough promotional images and pictures of the sets that I am psyched anyway. ------------------------------------- ------------------------------------- Rate The Song Above You
Zeb
I got interested in Bionicle when it had already ended, so being able to have my own "2001" is really cool, and I'm glad I'm able to experience all the mystery and adventure that Bionicle had when it originally came in 2001. So I'm even more excited about the sets now that it is confirmed to be a reboot. 4 The artist formerly known as ŜﮞρЄЯ־GЄNіﮞŜ־CЯЄ▲Ŧ۞Я BBC#69 Entry: Roodaka - Master of Manipulation BFTGM entries: Zigben · Ventox · Deflecto “Hail Denmark.”
Nidhiki of the Shadows
Undecided. I like the direction they are going with this reboot, but something could happen over the course of the year that disappoints me. Too early to judgement. -NotS Edited October 12, 2014 by Nidhiki of the Shadows
Makuta_of_Oz
I never liked reboots. I lost interest in Digimon because it hard-rebooted after Digimon Adventure 02 (and hard-rebooted every single season thereafter with no exceptions), and will likely do the same with Bionicle. 1 If you use correct grammar in your posts (or try hard to), place this in your signature. Latrodectus
I'm good with a reboot. Think of it less as a restart and more as a new take. The original toyline and story are still there, they're just starting a new one. To use a comparison, think of Transformers; each new Transformers TV show will reuse certain names and character concepts while giving us new stories and characterization. They're basically new universes. One of the issues I had with Bionicle in the later years was how confusing the storyline became as more and more piled up and the serials focused on more and more characters. It was interesting, but it lacked the focus of early years. Since resolving the plot threads left hanging isn't going to happen outside of our fan-fiction (and maybe some new comics or serials if Bionicle becomes really popular), the best we can hope for is to start a new story. Element Lord of Milk
Not at all. Though to be honest I was already expecting a hard reboot (but hoping for a soft reboot), so I wasn't surprised when it was confirmed.
Reya
I am happy that is is a reboot. The previous story was complicated and had too many plot holes. I am just glad Lego decided to re-use the original 6 Toa.
JungleSlizer
I also think that a reboot is a good idea. The original story was getting a bit confusing imho.
Zeddy
I think a general topic like this would be better suited in the Official one, or one of the multitude of talkbacks in the news forum. Closing.. [blog|Message]
