Waj
This is the first episode of a BIONICLE documentary series I made with my friend Political_Slime, where we reveal the original pitch that kicked off constraction through an exclusive interview with Andrew Nagel, a design consultant. This is a story we uncovered back in September 2021. For many years, we thought Christian Faber's Cybots project in 1995 was what started the concept, but that turned out to not be the case. Hope you all enjoy this first ep! Edited March 3 by Waj
Nato G
I remember watching this a few months ago. It was fantastic to get a glimpse behind the curtain at how things started out, and I look forward to seeing future instalments. 1 Quote Embers - A Bionicle Saga - Chapters/Review Class Is Out - A Farewell To Corpus Rahkshi - Chapters/Review BZPRPG Characters - Minnorak, Kain, T'harrak, Savis, Vazaria, Lash BZPRPG Mercenary Group - The Outsiders - Description - History - Base Ghosts Of Bara Magna - Ash Tribe - Precipere - Kehla, Somok, Skrall, Gayle, Avinus, Zha'ar
protodite
Dude this was awesome!! I love how deep into the Industrial Design process this really dives. Those concept sketches, the ethnographic research, it's really a designer dream come true. I'm really excited to see how the rest of this series shapes up! I became a designer in large part because of Lego and Bionicle. The Toa showed up on Mata Nui when I was 6, the absolutely perfect timing to just hook me in - but I think even as a kid I could understand, or at least appreciate, some of the design that went into it. Can't wait to see more. 1 Quote Credit to Eeko for the awesome sig. Lewa is the best!
