Bambi Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Wow, this thing is sick. I really like the color scheme you've got going. You did a very good job mixing the black, yellow, and silver together.Love the legs, looks like a lot of work went into them. The gears from the Toa Mata are a nice addition. My only complaint is that they're a little too spread apart. The torso is pretty cool. The cockpit is neat, I like the fact that you used some System pieces in there. Another cool thing is that it can hold the Hero Factory guy.The arms are very well-done, I like the Zamor-launching-cannon-thing on the left arm, and the hand/claw on the other. The shoulder cannons are also a nice touch. All in all, this is a really sweet MOC. I'd love to see some more from you. Quote [my blog] [custom emotes]
FrozenFlash Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 This looks fit for a Hero. The color scheme is really good and so is the build of the legs. The torso is also nicely designed. My only complaint is that... I can't think up of any complaints. Awesome job on this! Quote
turtleman Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Incredible. The yellow really pops out it looks great. ~Shockwave~ Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 that's insane. that should be submitted to cusoo. because I would buy it.can it fit any hero? or just a specific one? I wouldn't submit it to cusoo, though, I dont think its commercially viable. But I really appreciate your enthusiasm! As for your question, I didn't test with other heroes, but I believe it can fit most, as long as you remove the more protuding bits and clear the back (its connected there) . Sumiki Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Well, this thing has potential. I like its size - by and large, impressiveness is linked to size. However, when looked at with a more discerning eye, the MOC shows its flaws. To begin with, there are too many colors. No matter how big or small a given MOC is, four colors is the maximum you can use - and even then, that's pushing it. Three is a good number, in my opinion - main-on-secondary, with highlights of some other color. Here, you have two kinds of silver, black, yellow, white, red, trans-red, trans-green, light gray, lime green, and trans-orange - a whopping eleven different colors by my count. The good news is that, considering the size of the MOC, more than one shade of highlight can be used. Unfortunately, you still end up with too many colors. This is evident even on the six-color Hero - why is his right arm a different color?Aside from the color scheme, the layering could use some work - and it's a difficult problem to fix. The larger the MOC, the harder it is to get colors right - you almost have to get a stockpile of a bunch of a certain color and try to stick to using those parts throughout the entire MOC.Anent the shaping, I have few complaints. I like the cockpit, and I like the sturdiness of the legs and arms. I do think the limbs could be moved in slightly - a few studs could do the trick. Right now they just look like they're hanging on.Anyway, enough with the critiques. I like where you're going with this and I think it has potential to be a great MOC. Quote avatar by Lady Kopaka

As for the colors, I tried to stick with as less as I could, but I got short of pieces. Still, I consider it just 4: light grey, yellow, black and silver(I never pay much attention to the different shades, as they usually get mixed in photography, still, I tried to keep them less evident by keeping them apart). The others, as you said, are highlights (red is for weapons, trans-green are front lights and trans-orange are back lights). I don't know where you've seen lime green, as it has none. I do believe that I shouldn't have used the trans-red, as, so far, nobody got the idea of them being lasers... Regarding the pilot, I made it mostly just to show it can have a pilot. Didn't put effort on it. But yeah, the yellow arm was supposed to be some kind of military stuff, like, pilots have yellow arms or something. But mostly its was just to give some assymetry... Anyway, thanks for the critique. Quote The night is dark and full of terrors...
