I tip my hat to you, Lego.

So, I'd seen a few pages of the Nov/Dec issue of the Club Magazine online, but I hadn't really looked at the whole thing. Today I got my physical copy and I saw something that genuinely made me happy.

This minifigure.

gecdNxg.jpg (sorry it's so tiny)

Look at this figure. It's not a punk-rock stereotype or some weird villain.

It's just a regular, everyday female citizen who chooses to have a blue mohawk.

Good work, Lego.

Good work.

Good work?

Good work for making a delusional-esqe minifig?

It seems as though LEGO is running out of ideas.

... Delusional? How so?

"good work" for showing diversity in even the minor things. They're getting better by doing this, not running out of ideas.

I mean, it's nice—but at the same time, I don't think it's an actual figure who will appear in sets or anything like that. Just crowd filler.

Yeah, I don't doubt that. But still, they could have had another generic female with one of three different hair pieces, but they went the extra mile.

*Frowns and Shakes head disapprovingly*

This is showing that they're taking things from the real world. Mohawks aren't exclusive to men, and pony-tails aren't exclusive to women, any gender can use whatever hairstyle they want.

I find it funny how people expect Lego to put together things in exactly the way that would appease them when... gee, it almost seems like Lego was built to be able to mix and match whatever you want yourself...

Excuse me?

I remember a time frame where diversity in sets nearly killed LEGO.

This makes no sense at all. ....First of all, that minifigure will most likely NEVER be in a set. Second of all, ....giving a figure a blue mohawk isn't going to kill anything.
