Hapori Tohu Posted October 19, 2014 Share Posted October 19, 2014 BZPower members Moku and Lyichir have noticed that the LEGO Digital Designer has been updated with new pieces, including but not limited to "Guardians of the Galaxy minifig parts, summer Chima parts (System and Constraction), and some old parts (including Bionicle [...])", as Lyichir writes. A new BIONICLE piece is the Av-Matoran backpack from 2008. A Eurobricks member has compiled a list. The update is only about 20 MB and if you have LDD already installed, the new parts should download on launch. If you don't, you can download the software here and get building! believe victims Posted October 19, 2014 Share Posted October 19, 2014 Maybe it's just me old lady eyes, but there's only one Bionicle part I see among the new parts, which is the mentioned Av-Matoran backpack. An interesting thing about this update is, when it first came out, it caused LDD to crash when opening files with a large amount of pieces, which was annoying as I've been making a habit of reconstructing UCS sets in LDD (usually to find out LDD's limited format has made some sort of connection impossible) It also got rid of some annoying redundant parts, like the second 2x2 plate, but also appears to have added a couple more. Unfortunately, removing the redundant parts has caused LDD to POV-Ray to break because it will try to find includes for parts that no longer exist, meaning anyone who uses that to render things from LDD will be out of luck unless a fix is found. It was last used in 2011 Hero Factory, in Drop Ship, Bulk & Vapor, and Rotor. But they don't only update LDD with brand-new parts. Heck, this update includes an old windscreen element (4214) which hasn't been used in more than a decade, with the hinge connection it uses having been discontinued about that long ago.
