Unboxing the Legend - Exhibit 008-009-010 goes back to before Bionicle to look at Slizer (or Throwbots in the US) with an early concept for a vending machine to sell the sets. We also get a couple of illustrations of Torch and Amazon. I can't wait to see what he has in store for us next! dotcom Posted April 10, 2015 Share Posted April 10, 2015 This always sounded like a pretty cool idea, and it does look pretty awesome. I dunno, though, I imagine it could have gone poorly easily. These things break all the dang time from my experience. Plus, if they were designed for a specific wave, unless the designers stuck to the same packaging for the entire line*, they would have become obsolete really quickly. And like...lines? Would've still been cool, but..yeah. Cool concept, but can't imagine that it would have worked out well in real life. ProfessorBrickkeeper Posted April 10, 2015 Share Posted April 10, 2015 Actually, the idea of LEGO vending machines isn't as far-fetched as some many think. In fact, LEGO actually did install two fully-operational LEGO vending machines at terminals in the Munich Train Station a few years ago, which presumably have worked, seeing as they are still there.
